A wonderful place, located right in front of the cathedral. Free admission. A modern presentation of the exposition, located on several floors. It is not boring for both adults and children, the interiors of different eras are presented. There is an interactive one. There is a place to take an interesting photo for memory. There is a lot of printed information in the lobby - maps, brochures, postcards. Souvenirs are on sale. There is a place for a traveler to sit down and relax. Again, a free toilet. There is also a cafe, but it is expensive and not interesting, sandwiches, coffee, desserts. It is better to go around the house, go to the bay on the market square and for the same money taste salmon with vegetables or meatballs. In general, the museum perfectly visualizes the history of both Helsinki and Finland, conveys the spirit of the city.
A very interesting place and for free! I advise tourists. You can come here with children, there is a children's room where children can play and adults can take funny photos. Or just sit at the tables in the lobby on the ground floor and take something to the cafe if you are tired. There are storage rooms where you can leave backpacks and bags. Part of the museum is dedicated to the history of Helsinki, and there are small exhibitions on the upper floors. The exposition is modern and interesting.
A small but very interesting museum. It is open for free admission. There are spaces where children can play: try on the profession of a shoemaker, for example; sit at antique desks or stay in the teacher's place. There are rooms decorated like standard Finnish apartments of the last century. There is a lot of interactive information on the stands.
The adult part of the exhibition impressed me slightly, but the children's part deserves 6 stars out of 5. There is a 19th-century store where children can sell and buy products (toy, but naturalistic), and a puppet and ordinary theater with a huge selection of costumes for your little actors. And an apartment in the middle of the XX century - you can plunge into the atmosphere and cook dinner. There is a school (also an old one), there is an exposition of toys and a separate hall with toys for playing. There is a children's toilet (a low toilet, a stool, a pot, a changing table and free diapers!), a room with a microwave and tables where you can feed the food you brought with you... And all this despite the fact that the entrance to the museum is free! Anyone traveling with young children is required to visit.
The museum is free. I liked the historical excursion in the form of a "time machine" implemented using virtual reality. There is also an excellent selection of household items and furniture design samples.
The interactive exhibition is absolutely free for everyone, there is also a children's section where you can touch everything, plus a cozy cafe and a souvenir shop
We've been going to Helsinki for so long, but we've only visited the museum for the first time now. And they were glad that they had finally reached him. It is free, but at the same time very curious, albeit a small museum
