This is the second time in this museum. It is a pity that some halls are closed for restoration. We visited an excursion from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages.
I liked the exposition dedicated to the history of the development of Armenia as a state. It is clear that Armenians love and appreciate their historical past, cherish artifacts found in different parts of this country. It is a little difficult for Russian-speaking tourists to understand, there are no signs in Russian at all.
The exposition of antiquities is impressive. However, it's a bit poor for the main museum of the country. Without the museum staff, it is completely unclear where to go and where the continuation of the exhibition is
Probably a very extensive exposition. But during our visit, only 3 halls were open, the rest are under renovation. And at the same time, it was VERY stuffy inside: the air conditioners did not work or there were none, and the fans could not cope with the street heat multiplied by the visitors.
It's a pity, but all this together did not allow us to fully enjoy the museum
I liked the museum, but the legends (captions) to the exhibits are in Armenian and in English. It's funny because when I was at the museum there weren't many Armenians there at all, and only 1 Frenchman, the rest were Russian-speaking
The entire second floor is closed! That is, only before the Bronze Age and there is no information anywhere that these halls are closed. And there's the most interesting thing! I have a bad impression of the museum and the approach of the museum staff!
There is no ramp for strollers and reading in English is probably not as convenient as in Russian either )
Therefore , the impressions of the museum were the worst . There is no audio guide either. You can't book a tour in Russian either. In short, minimal customer orientation
A wonderful museum. I don't understand the outrage or the comments that everything is in Armenian and English. I recently visited the Louvre Abu Dhabi, everything is in Arabic and English. And underestimate the mark because of this? You understand that you are going to an independent state with your own language. Against the background of what is happening in the world, it is strange that people are surprised by the absence of Russian. Although it should not be in Armenian museums without politics. The reality is that the Russian language can only be found in Russian museums.
I really like the ceiling height here. In general, Armenian museums lack an innovative approach and interactivity. For me, souvenirs are boring, outdated. I sincerely wish the museum to reconsider its style of work.
I expected more, in fact, there are only a couple of halls for the entire museum of history: from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age.. There is also an art gallery and a carpet museum, but it is just above the floor for additional inspection.
As of mid-April, the museum has only a few rooms open - Stone Age, jewelry, weapons and carpets. Since the exposition is compiled not by historical periods, but by subject categories, it does not leave a complete impression and does not give an overall picture of the country's history. There is no audio guide, the text accompanying the exhibits is often too small and voluminous. Given the large number of visitors from the CIS countries, it would be worth adding a text in Russian.
The museum should reconsider its approach to the formation of the exposition. As an example of best practices, I would advise the museum staff to visit the Historical Museum in Bishkek.
The museum premises are not provided with proper ventilation. Tickets are not cheap....but I wanted to leave the museum, because my condition was close to fainting due to lack of air. There are ordinary room fans in the halls, which do not provide air circulation. The exposition is interesting, but it didn't work out to enjoy watching it. I was at the museum in July 2023. It's hot outside, but the museum is no better....
If you like archaeological excavations, you can go.We were in June 2023, and part of the exposition was closed for restoration.Admission is 2500 AMD per person, if with a guided tour, then 5000.And most importantly, everything is in English and Armenian. You walk around and just stare.

The museum is good, keep in mind that when you take a guide and pay money, other people will join you. THE TOUR will not BE INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED FOR YOU! A question? Why do that! As a result, the tour was disgusting, not only will you pay for all of them , but you will not hear anything yet
A well-organized and very interesting exposition showing the stages of the history of Armenia. There are exhibits from the Stone Age, the Urartu era, and the Hellenistic period... There is also a hall with carpets and a hall with decorations, national costumes
A great museum. It occupies two floors of the building. The oldest shoes in the world found at the moment are stored here - a leather women's shoe, which is 6 thousand years old
Be sure to visit!)
the location is not better to come up with, history is an important part of any state. be sure to check the opening hours. the children were also satisfied.
They removed all the inscriptions in Russian. Only English and Armenian. Of course, there are interesting exhibits. A large collection.

What kind of nonsense are you writing about the Russian language? Shame and disrespect. Have you seen a lot of signatures in Armenian in museums in Russia? I raise my rating, the souvenir shop is wonderful, I recommend it, I hope to visit the museum itself next time, even if one of the 20 halls is open!
A beautiful building. The study of history begins from the outside)
Probably half of the halls are closed until May 2023... But I also liked what was revealed. Unique objects. Friendly staff.
Carpets are lovingly presented, their manufacture is shown.
In the souvenir shop you can buy gizmos, postcards, bags, jewelry and books that are on the table... You can sit on the couch and look through them. Ask for book prices, a large book may not cost that much. But a thinner book can also be more expensive (perhaps it depends on the place and year of publication).
I love it for the archaeology section. An excellent exposition about Urartu and other things. I like the lobby with maps (copies of maps where Armenia is mentioned) of Armenia.
We visited the museum, it was interesting and informative! It's just a pity that there are no audio guides ... all information is in Armenian and English...(((
Russian Russian is a beautiful museum, quite interesting expositions, but unfortunately there are no Russian signatures, and this despite the fact that everyone speaks Russian at all. We read and speak English fluently, but still a lot of details could have escaped us.
A very modest number of exhibits for a museum of this level. But the staff is very friendly.
I liked the videos about the creation of the carpet exhibition
