A small, beautiful church from the 13th century, which has been preserved by chance to this day. During the demolition of the Basilica of the Holy Virgin in 1936, the ancient Katogike Church was discovered, enclosed in the structure of a large basilica. After protests from archaeologists, the church was fortunately preserved.

The ancient Katoghike Church where I came during my first trip to Yerevan. It is convenient to walk from the center. The oldest inscriptions carved on one of the walls of the Katogike Church are dated 1264.
