It is difficult to characterize this hotel, the opinion of our group was divided after spending the night in it. On the one hand, thank you that there is a hotel where you can spend the night, there is no hotel nearby. On the other hand, it was as if I got into the Soviet era, the interiors are similar, besides, the time did not spare the hotel building. It started with the fact that they did not have time for one hour at the border crossing, they did not take into account the time difference between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. I didn't want to spend the night in a yurt near the border crossing. There are facilities on the floor, the staff is friendly. The shower is on the ground floor. In general, it's not bad. For four people, 9 t.t.
A normal hotel for business travelers. After the mountain roads through the villages there is a shower, hot water, kettle, etc. There is Wi-Fi, the speed does not fly, there is enough to talk on video. Its own spacious and level Parking lot. The staff did well. I put ***** and wish you development!
There are about 10 rooms in total, there is a shared kettle and a microwave, a toilet with a washbasin on the second floor and a shower on the ground floor. Room for 3x9000 tenge, clean bed linen, beds are relatively comfortable. But the shared shower leaves much to be desired, you can't go there without tears(. Suitable for an overnight stay from despair)
I really liked Kegen! ♥️
Both nature and people are beautiful and sincere! The place is very convenient for traveling to the main beauties of the Almaty region: the Charyn Nature Reserve with a canyon nearby, from here you can also get to the Kolsai lakes, Saty, to the hot springs in Chongja, as well as Issyk-Kul nearby.
I had a lot of inspirations related to this place. 👍👍👍
In October 2019, I arrived in Kegen in the dark by private car. A hole-by-hole, a bunch of one-story, private houses. (They say the former district center. Then it was moved 100 km away.) But that's exactly what I remember. I was alone with my wife. We hardly found the so-called hotel. Two-storey, wooden, more like a "collective farmer's House", a small house. We were glad to spend the night, because the border to Kyrgyzstan on Issyk-Kul in this place is closed at night. There was one 3-bed room, you can't call it a room: 3 beds, a table, a wardrobe, 1-2 chairs - everything. Toilet, washbasin, TV - on the floor. However, by some miracle, Wi-Fi appeared. There was nowhere else. The woman was ashamed to charge the two of us, as for a 3-seater - 6000 tenge - about 1000 Russian rubles (at first she announced so). I took 5000 Tons. The best canteen is a snack bar. It's full of flies and sticky tapes with them. The kitchen is directly into the hall. No counter, just tables with sofas. A woman with her husband cooks and nurses at the same time as the child. But Lagman ate. A separate room for the cops and apparently other bosses. Everything is at the village level. We also had breakfast there. In the light of day, everyone looked a little more cheerful, but just as rustic. There is a small market in the center and that's it. Driving by, I wanted to stop, go in, take a look, to consolidate the rural flavor. The wife resisted. But as I drove by, I realized that there was nothing to wait for. And here's what surprised me: at the exit towards the border to Kyrgyzstan, good pedestrian sidewalks are laid along the road. They were surprised for whom and seemed to go nowhere. But it turned out that a pretty good one was built on the edge. a beautiful, new sports complex. So life is not worth it, civilization has come to our village. There is no nature around, poor, steppes. The mountains are only in the distance, and it looks like on the Kyrgyz side. It is difficult to make an objective assessment, because it depends on what to compare it with: with capitals or with a lonely life on a stone island. Who likes what, who got carried away. For me, it's 2, with a stretch.
