We rested at the Ilkay Hotel with my husband and daughter in October 2024. From the first minute we fell in love with the hotel, the area where it is located and the whole of Istanbul! The location is very convenient, in the heart of Istanbul. All the attractions are very close, the tram stop is nearby, it is easy to get to remote areas. The street where the hotel is located is very busy, there are many shops and cafes, everything is open until late at night, adding a special oriental flavor!!! The hotel staff is very polite and attentive, the rooms are modest but very clean, there are absolutely no foreign odors, cleaning and changing towels every day, bed linen every three days. The room is small, but very reasonably arranged, everything is convenient and comfortable. Water, tea, and coffee are replenished every day. There is a kettle, a safe. The windows of our room faced the street. The noise did not bother us, on the contrary, we were only glad that we could look at Istanbul at any time of the day. The breakfasts are excellent. They are very satisfying and varied. There are hot dishes. You eat so much that you have enough before dinner, which of course is very convenient and saves time if you want to see a lot in Istanbul. There is only one conclusion: a great hotel for a good price. Fans of intense travel programs, come here!!! The perfect combination of low price, comfort and convenience of location!!!
For the first time in Istanbul, we chose this hotel and did not regret it. The location is very good: near Gulhane Park, within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Galata Bridge, Bosphorus, Suleymaniye Mosque. Upon arrival, they asked for a quiet room, our wishes were taken into account (room 202, courtyard view) . In the morning we were woken up by the cries of seagulls, but otherwise complete peace. They don't speak Russian at the reception. The room is small. The room is clean, cozy, the battery is working, but somehow periodically. They weren't frozen, but it wasn't particularly warm either. There is no heated towel rail in the bathroom. In the room: slippers, hair dryer, shampoo-gel soap, kettle, cups, bring water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk powder. There is a safe, there is no refrigerator. They clean every day, change towels, make the bed. The beds are comfortable. Buffet breakfast in the bar on the ground floor: delicious, varied, there is always something hot, snacks, croissants, fruits. I will recommend the hotel to my friends.
A small, conveniently located hotel. Everything is within walking distance. All the sights are nearby. Clean, good breakfast, friendly staff. The only thing missing is a refrigerator.
A great hotel for the unassuming tourist. Location near the Gulhane tram stop. 5 minutes to Aksaray Station and Eminenyu Pier. 10 minutes to Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet. Getting to any point in Istanbul is easy. Breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 10:30. We always went at 8, there was a full set of dishes. Vegetables, cheese, sausage, fruit, hot, honey, jams - enough for half a day. Room cleaning every day. Despite the fact that the windows of the room faced the street with the tram, I slept fine. I highly recommend the hotel if you need a good place to explore the city.
A clean and cozy hotel. Cleaning every day with replacement of towels. The breakfasts are hearty and varied. I can't hear the neighbors.
The hotel is located on a street where trams run and there are many mosques around. The street is quite noisy, but it didn't bother us.
In February 23, before reaching Bulgaria, I chose this hotel. And I didn't regret it! Very clean. The room has everything you need. A mini buffet breakfast, coffee and tea are brought by the host. Very convenient location, the main attractions are within walking distance, the Bosphorus is around the corner...The tram line is outside the window, but I didn't hear any noise. I liked everything.
This is the second part of the Lalahan Hotel in Istanbul. Small, cozy. It is located on the street where the tram T1 goes. The audibility in the hotel is high, both from the street and from the neighbors. We had a 2-bed room facing the street perpendicular to the trams. Fortunately, they do not walk at night, but their dilinkan caused us emotion. The building opposite our windows was very close, no one lived there at that time, but we closed the windows just in case) The breakfasts in the cafe in the same building are simple, but we had enough for half a day. The hotel is clean. The staff is polite, friendly, but not Russian-speaking. A little English, gestures and everything is normal.
We had a rest in July 2023. I liked the hotel, the room was small but cozy. The windows overlook the street with the tram line, but the noise was not noticed. Cleaning every day, water was left in the room every time. The breakfast is wonderful, we went out at 8 a.m., in the restaurant under the hotel, hot food-eggs, sausages, puff croissants, cereals, vegetables, fruits, sweet cupcake, tea, coffee - we ate everything with pleasure and went for a walk all day with such a hearty breakfast. Of course, the best location is the hotel, 5-10 minutes from all the main attractions, while on a beautiful well-groomed street! There is a tram stop nearby, a 5-minute train station and a ferry to the islands. We have never regretted choosing this hotel.
I don't understand the bad reviews. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The most courteous staff, a nice room, excellent breakfasts. The filling of the room is better than in many 5* Antalya beach hotels: air conditioning, hairdryer, kettle, bathroom accessories and even slippers. The bed is comfortable, the mattress is new, the linen and towels are clean, new. I stayed in winter, in February, the room was warm. Daily cleaning service. I didn't even expect it to be so good. As for audibility, reading the reviews, you might think that thin walls, and you, are lying and envying the neighbors. But no. There is audibility, but only from the street, there is a tram running under the windows. But this is predictable if you look at the map before choosing a hotel. The location of the hotel is "never better". Everything is nearby: metro, tram, attractions and cafe shops. The hotel staff is always ready to help, prompt, and advise. I recommend the hotel.
I don't understand bad reviews either! The breakfast is good, the coffee machine!!!Wonderful, the staff is very friendly, polite and helpful! Location is better and not necessary)) we lived for 2 nights in August, we liked everything, thank you very much! We'll be back))
Excellent budget hotel in the very center. There is everything you need. Of course, there are small disadvantages like an air conditioner blowing on the bed or some noises, but for such a price in such a place - it's gorgeous. The bed is comfortable, the linen is clean. They let me in at 5 in the morning without questions. Coffee and tea in the room, water is added every day.
Convenient location, the room is small, but everything you need is there, close to transport hubs and attractions. Breakfast is monotonous, it could be more interesting.
I really liked the ilkay hotel. As we wrote earlier, ILKAY and LALAHAN are two hotels in one. They have combined corridors and an entrance to the hotel building itself.
The rooms were cleaned every day, but at different times. Sometimes they could come at 10 o'clock in the morning, and sometimes later.
There was no hearing from the neighbors, but the tram and the reading of "Namaz" could be heard a little from the street. The second was much worse, because every day at 4-5 in the morning I woke up because of these frightening howls.
The hotel itself is cool! The hostesses are very friendly and helpful, but they speak only English.
Our breakfasts took place in the cafe "Red River", you could get into it directly from the hotel without going outside. The breakfasts were quite varied, in general, they did not bother.
I really liked the hotel, I had a rest in early October 2023. The location is super! The staff is polite, the breakfasts are delicious. Room cleaning every day. I recommend it!
A hotel is a big word. As well as the service of pegasus who settle in it. There is no sound insulation, they moan in the rooms to hear everything, they walk along the corridors to hear, they rattle plates in the kitchen to hear. They do the cleaning when they want and may not clean up. I don't advise anyone.
And don't take sightseeing tours from pegasus - it's a waste of money. Take individual tours, it's much cheaper and I show and tell better. They will show more and it will be cheaper. Example: A tour of Top Kapy, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, hippodrome square, German fountain, a walk along the Bosphorus costs $ 50 per person. At the same time, you will not be taken to Irinia and Gorem in the top caps (you will then have to buy a full ticket to visit them) A tour of the Bosphorus costs 25 rubles. Moreover, they have "restaurant dinners" with a maximum price of 20-40 liras per person. And everything else is free))) but you will be charged money. Don't get fooled. And take an individual transfer. Good luck to everyone.

No sound insulation!!! The feeling that the windows are always open! With this arrangement, there should be good windows, not aluminum ones with one glass. Even all the smells penetrated into the room through them, let alone the sounds! The furniture is old! You buy a tour to Lalahan from Pegasus, and they settle in Ilkai, like it's the same hotel. What are the 4 stars?! Where? The photos on the booking are lying specifically. The breakfasts are sooo modest, it's the same every day, only melons are made from fruits. The staff is friendly, yes.
A very old hotel, the furniture is junk, there has been no renovation since the Ottoman Empire))) good room cleaning and convenient location did not compensate for the feeling of "devastation".Renovation is urgently required .
