Surrounded by powerful fortress walls, the ancient city has been completely preserved, where in the evening, when there are no tourists, you can feel that you are in the Middle Ages. There are many museums, you can climb the walls of the fortress and the observation deck.
Oh, this is the city of Khiva and the museum will forever remain in my heart! The Fairy Tale of the East is one of the greatest impressions of our trip to Uzbekistan!!!
It's super interesting, old man, and to live, to be in the old days is super. It is very striking that the tiles on the walls are nailed. No one knows how it was done, the method of such tile laying has been lost for a long time.
This is the old Khiva - the inner part of the city, surrounded by fortress walls. I had a chance to spend the night in a guest house right inside this fortress. The impression is unforgettable, there are historical monuments at every step, you can walk and admire the whole day.
Bravo cool place was there the first time. But the feeling is like being plunged into history. And the goods are very cheap. I advise you. Next time I'll take a trolleybus
A nice, cozy little room. An interesting solution with Prospect om from the train station to the city. Like it.

The best museum city in Uzbekistan!
This is not a plasterboard Samarkand with a splint "restoration" and not the preservation of the fortress in Bukhara.
It can be seen that the citadel is still inhabited, and people live in houses inside the fortress like hundreds of years ago, kids run around chasing a ball, 90% of residents have turned their homes into hostels and you can find yourself an inexpensive hotel next to historical monuments.
A historical object in the old city, the tower was supposed to become the tallest minaret in its era over 100 meters, but unfortunately was not completed.

The maximum concentration of historical buildings, some of which are older than Moscow. I recommend staying inside the fortress to feel the spirit of antiquity.
I will definitely come again, this time in the spring
A surprisingly charming place😍I was enchanted, feeling as if I had fallen into the history of the ancient ages. I can't believe that people once lived here, hotels are certainly expensive, but souvenirs can be found cool. The food is good and very, very interesting, you don't want to leave, and you can't get around a huge place in a day
Ichan Kala is a historical monument, listed and protected by UNESCO. This is more than 2500 thousand.years of the history of the East - the Silk Road.
I advise you to visit Khiva in early May, because then it gets hot every day.
No comment, the city is a museum. It is a pity that after 20.00 life freezes, it seems that you are walking among the scenery. Bukhara and Samarkand are still more atmospheric.

The city is fabulous. Surprisingly, local residents still live on the territory. The territory is huge. A lot has been preserved in the original. Therefore, 1 day is not enough to see everything
The old town is surrounded by walls, there are 4 exits (gates). Palaces, madrassas, and mosques of amazing beauty have been preserved. Such a city should be visited at least once in your life
We lived in a family house inside the old town. There are many souvenir shops. We climbed the fortress wall - a gorgeous view. Almost all sellers speak Russian. The backlight works at night.
