We had a rest from 12/25/2024 to 01/08/2025
The territory of the residence is guarded, clean, lots of greenery, large swimming pools, a beach promenade. There are still many empty lands and houses outside.
The New Year's celebration was held with an elegant dinner on the beach with lotteries and a disco, there were several dance performances, but without bright numbers. Out of five points, four with a minus,
both food and fun.
Meals are also on 4 out of 5.
Breakfast is the biggest and tastiest meal. The choice ranges from Asian (soups, sushi, snacks, etc.) to European cuisine (eggs, sausages, yoghurts, muesli, muffins, etc.). Fresh juices, fruits (mango, guava, lychee, etc.).
For lunch in Alaska at the delicious Tom Yam restaurant, Asian dishes with rice, pizza, pasta.
For dinner, there is a good selection of seafood and meat in the Lava restaurant.
In general, the products are of high quality, there is a choice, but the preparation is superficial - octopus can be rubbery, pasta overcooked, steak without the taste of meat, etc. Therefore, 4 is for food.
The service is very friendly, but English is at an elementary level - you need to speak monosyllabically and highlight simple words or use a Vietnamese translator. You also need to be prepared for the fact that the service is always long (coffee can be brought by the end of breakfast, almost never change the appliances, remove the dishes only on request, the transfer may not be ready in time, etc.).
But it should be noted that among other hotels nearby, the Intercontinental, as well as the neighboring Regent, stand out noticeably and are obviously the best on this coast.
This is, of course, a five-star hotel, not four, as mistakenly indicated in the description, with all the consequences. The hotel is quite new, excellent rooms, clean pools, friendly staff. The sea can be dirty, there is no fault of the hotel here, this is a common thing in many Asian countries. Sometimes the sea is clean, sometimes the tide and wind bring a lot of garbage from fishing boats, of which there are an incredible number at night. The breakfast at the hotel is excellent. Restaurants are expensive, as in all Intercontinental. You can take a room with access to the club, it's cool, deserted, breakfast is simpler, but very pleasant, soft drinks are poured all day without additional charge, they are fed at certain hours, from 17 to 19.30 they pour alcohol without restrictions. There is no special infrastructure nearby yet, but you can take an inexpensive taxi and get to the town with a cable car, there are a lot of restaurants and there is a place to walk. There is a bar on the roof of the hotel with a very steep view.
