Crowded airport most of the time, due to low cost flights and high demand on economy class. The flights to most destinations are always through a bus/shuttle to and from the airplane. The VIP lounge is excellent and provides good choices of foods and beverages, The toilets in the lounge are extremely clean.

A wonderful airport, big, clean, there is a place to walk and the coolest thing is there are places to wait, where you can lie down. I liked that it is relatively inexpensive to have a snack on the second floor of the waiting room, we constantly eat national lentil soup there :)
The only thing that is very confusing is the police checks if you stay in the waiting areas near the windows for a long time (where you can take a horizontal position), but there have never been any problems. you show your tickets and there are no questions. I think this airport is the best in Istanbul, the old one is very sad right now.

It is located far from the city, it is easy to get from the city only by an expensive taxi or shuttle bus for $ 7 to the Aksaray metro station. Huge queues at passport control. Wi-Fi is provided only for 30 minutes according to the passport in the vending machine. When the plane lands, it takes at least 30 minutes to travel around the airfield to get to the parking lot. If you are in transit at this airport, and not Turkish airlines, then you will have to go through passport control at the exit and entrance, and not go directly to the next flight

Baggage check-in is automated. You can do this on the terminal by scanning your passport.
It is necessary to stick a sticker on the luggage handle and put it on the tape (without an employee) at the check-in site. The barcode must be read in the horizontal position of the suitcase.
Hand luggage is not checked and there is no need to put it in the colibrator.
There were two of us riding, the weight was added up. The permissible weight was 30 kg.
Next, for domestic flights, you need to walk along the floor to the Gate (WITHOUT going up the escalator). For convenience, colored lines are marked on the floor.
The flight was at 09.30 am. All the procedures were comfortable, there was a lot of time left.
We left Sultanahmet district at about 6 a.m. A taxi (bitaxi) arrives quickly (5 minutes).
The journey took 45 minutes. The road is clear in the early morning. There is a traffic jam in front of the airport.
It feels like there are more employees than at any Moscow airport and going through all the stages is much more cheerful.

It is not clear what is where, there is nothing in Russian, even the staff are not trained. I wandered for over an hour until some girl helped me. Landing at random. The flight is delayed forever. Because of the lack of places, people sit on the floor with their children, and even sleep on the floor. And plus, as in all airports, it is very expensive. Too much even.
