Iverskaya Mountain. A wonderful place in New Athos, which must be visited to admire the wonderful view of the sea and Abkhazia. If you are going to the mountain in the warm season, it is better to go early, at 5-7 o'clock. There won't be many people and it won't be hot. In any case, even if you are taken to the ticket office by car, then you will have to walk uphill along a steep path for about 1 km. Buy comfortable shoes. The entrance to the mountain costs 300 rubles, take cash On the way there will be a free toilet. Read the story related to Iverskaya Gora on the Internet. This will add interesting knowledge and a sense of contact with history. On the mountain you will find a spring, a chapel in honor of the Tver Mother of God, a tower and the best view.
To get there, you need to overcome a hiking route along a mountain serpentine (the path is wide, but over rocks). Be sure to wear comfortable shoes!
I climbed for 35 minutes - from the entrance to the New Athos cave to the top.
The views from the top (350m above sea level) are amazing! It's worth getting up!
It's a great place, the views are gorgeous. The impression was slightly spoiled by the fact that we paid for the passage (although, as everywhere, without tickets or checks, well, okay), but no one bothered to warn us that at a certain time the tower on the mountain closes, and after we climbed up, after a couple of minutes the male caretaker began to kick us out. So keep this in mind and clarify it better in advance.
Beautiful places, gorgeous views of the sea and New Athos. It is not hot to climb in the shade of the trees and you can relax on improvised benches. The climb is a bit heavy.
To look from this peak at the expanses and beauty of Abkhazia = it is worth climbing, and there is an "inexhaustible" spring, well, it is interesting to look at the buildings. A description of the place and other things is present.
A great, atmospheric place. Be sure to visit at sunset or dawn, the views are beautiful. It upsets the paid entrance per person, after all, such places should be available to tourists for free, but this is not about Abkhazia, they will soon start charging for breathing their air. Sorry.
A great place to feel the history in the context of the change of epochs. I strongly advise you to take a guide - it will be interesting. There is parking on the lower observation deck. I recommend you to visit!
A unique place that is worth visiting for anyone who is interested in nature and geology. Quadro Pedro's ATV riding made a special impression. It was a great addition to the main tour — an exciting trip through the picturesque surroundings, full of adrenaline and new experiences. I recommend everyone to try it!
The tower offers an overview of the entire New Athos. The road to the tower is a bit difficult in the heat. We cut through the forest. There is a holy spring upstairs, you can get water or drink. The place is interesting. It's worth a visit.
It's worth coming up here. The climb is difficult. I do not recommend going with small children. They will get tired and you will carry them on yourself, but it is hard to walk here without a burden. There is a more gentle rise, but longer and shorter, but very steep, without trails. Be sure to bring water with you. Even if you drink on the way, do not throw away the bottle. Thank yourself when you get to the top. You will be very thirsty. You will need an empty bottle upstairs to get water from the well. You will be delighted with the views from above this mountain. The fortress is active upstairs, services are underway. There is a chapel.
Perhaps this is one of the most accessible peaks, which offers incredible views of the Black Sea and the city of New Athos. After climbing to the top, you will be able to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of antiquity, seeing the remains of the fortress of Anakopia.
The mountain on which the remains of the Anakopian fortress are located. The eastern tower, which is in good condition, you can enter it and climb to the observation deck overlooking the Black Sea coast. The ruins of the temple and the fortress walls. There is a water source, a well. It's hard to climb. You can follow the serpentine in the sun, we walked straight through the forest-steeper, but shorter and there is a shadow with a breeze. A trail for good shoes! We climbed for about an hour.
It's worth going there. It's a little hard to climb, but it's worth going through. Take your time and everything will be fine. Very tasty water from the spring. Eagles will fly against you. The view is gorgeous.
An incredible place, we went to Abkhazia for it!!! There are incredible views from the mountain! I didn't want to go downstairs. The chapel is very gracious, I did not want to leave it. There on the mountain, time has stopped
In Abkhazia, everything created by nature is gorgeous... It is most comfortable to get by taxi (for 200 rubles.) to the ticket office, yes, entrance to the mountain is paid - adult 300, children (from 7 years old) 150. And how to go further - you can choose, you can follow the path (serpentine), or straight up the mountain, all one, all one will come from climbing. It is more difficult, but faster, in any case, stock up on water still at the bottom, otherwise you will spend all your vacation money on "golden" water. The view from above is beautiful, there is an inexhaustible well, a ruined temple, a fortress, but to be honest...Nothing special 🤷♀️ Take a look once for a change.
It's a picturesque place, but to get up, especially if it's warm and the sun is shining, kapets, be patient and strong! Entrance is 300 rubles per adult
One of the favorite places in Abkhazia, a place of power, it is better to go there for half a day, fresh air, a view of the entire coast and mountains, there is a well with drinking water.we'll go easy, but it's better to wear training sneakers, take a snack with you, besides this monastery in New Athos there is a lot more to see
The most wonderful place, we climbed the mountain twice. The history, scope, origins of Christianity... is very beautiful. The first lot of the Virgin on earth. This alone is enough to visit and worship the Holy Land.
I was there in June 2024. I recommend visiting this place. If by car, I recommend driving from the entrance to the Athos caves, there is a paid parking upstairs. Entrance to the mountain to the castle is paid. Then walk up to the castle. Be sure to climb the observation tower. Beautiful view!
The mountain, the top of which rises 350 meters above sea level. The climb is quite steep. The foot of the mountain in residential buildings. At an altitude of about 150 meters, the entrance to the territory of the Anakopian fortress, some structures of which date back to the 7th century and are located on the top and approaches to it. Entrance to the territory is paid. Greeks, Byzantines, and Genoese took part in the construction in different centuries. There is a residential village on the opposite slope from New Athos.
Height and beauty! The view is stunningly mesmerizing! The path is not easy, it is difficult in the heat! But it goes well under the shade of the trees! The walls of the towers are being repaired! There is an inexhaustible well at the top! As the woman nun who was taking the water said, very magical water! We took the bottle with us!
Fantastic views, breathtaking views of the sea, snow-capped mountains, the New Athos Monastery and the city below. Delicious mountain air, and I want to breathe it. Yes, it's hard to get up there, but it's worth it.
You can visit if you are ready to go a lot.The road is not always convenient. There are beautiful gardens on the right and left.the place is interesting for those who are interested in history.Beautiful views from the fortress and the opportunity to take good photos
Entrance is paid!!! If you love fortresses and beautiful views, spare no effort, take a supply of water with you, do not forget a headdress, put on clothes that protect from the sun, comfortable shoes and go ahead! The road from the ticket office is unpaved, winding in a serpentine. In places, you can cut its bends with paths much uphill, if this does not frighten you. There are benches along the way to relax. There is very little shadow. In hot weather, the sun just roasts, keep this in mind. And remember that there is a toilet upstairs, you do not need to arrange it under every bush!!! It smells!
It's a beautiful place. It is worth visiting the fortress at the top of the mountain. The tower offers a beautiful view of New Athos. The remains of the church have been preserved. Be ready for a hard climb up the mountain, wear comfortable shoes!
Climbing the Iverskaya Mountain is not so easy! But it's worth all the effort!Magnificent views, an inexhaustible well have restored our vitality. The tower is magnificent!Temple. It's worth touching the story.

It's great to be at the height of a bird's flight. A wonderful walk, historical sites, a beautiful panorama!
It is high and long to climb, but even in the fog it makes sense to come there, to an inexhaustible well, a temple without a roof, to medieval buildings and mountain cows)))
A great place, a must-visit when traveling to Abkhazia. If your health is not completely bad, then you will be able to go in. Shoes preferably something like sneakers, sneakers and sandals are uncomfortable.
As a child in the USSR, my grandmother and I went to this mountain, there was a spring in the ruins, and it was believed that anyone who drank this water would not be sick for a whole year. The water is delicious, we drank. But the climb is difficult. The entrance was free, not everyone agreed to go uphill to such a height.
An interesting ascent to the Iverskaya mountain. If in the summer during the heat of the day, it's a little heavy. Take drinking water with you. You can get to the barrier by taxi, and then by yourself. But the view from the mountain is wonderful.
The views are crazy. Everything is very beautiful. It is necessary to get there on foot, but it is not difficult, but even interesting. It takes 40-50 minutes by time.
