Our first flight experience to the Maldives, the Joy island Hotel. We have nothing to compare it with (in terms of islands)
, everything was great for us.
Full of delight from the gorgeous views, it is impossible to admire the beauty of the whole landscape😍
The staff is friendly.
All English speakers, no one speaks Russian from the staff.
Room 411: Spacious, classy villa with private pool and ocean access. In the room: kettle, capsule coffee machine, hair dryer, beach bag, lantern, large dressing room, huge TV, bidet, deep bath, everything is there. From a personal disadvantage: the lack of bathrobes.
On food: in general, everything is there, everything is delicious (except meat - tough), but always delicious tuna and several other types of fish, octopus, crabs, delicious pastas, a lot of fresh vegetables and cooked in different ways, a variety of salads, greens, delicious pineapples, red bananas and papaya. From fast food, sandwiches and French fries were also delicious in the main restaurant.
Desserts are standard, varied, I will highlight Sebastian cheesecake, tiramisu and lactose-free desserts that are relevant nowadays (muffins, meringue, cupcake, charlotte), good ice cream, Viennese waffles and pancakes in the morning
For breakfast there is always oatmeal porridge, delicious guacamole, bread, fried eggs (from fried eggs to Benedict)
Delicious Americano/Cappuccino coffee
Decent alcohol (prosecco, wines, beer, signature cocktails)
The entertainment program is very light, people are passive))
Every day there is a live sound, those who dance salsa, then you can dance.
Table games. Theme nights (masquerade shows, el party, etc.) - nothing special..
I can't say anything about the children's club, we went without children.
The gym is very small and meager, you can count with your finger how many simulators there are) we didn't even go, there was a lot of cardio walking))
There is a tennis court, volleyball, you can run around the island, but I regretted my sneakers, because a ton of sand dust will fall on them))
It is advisable to take light shoes, you should not take shoes)
There is a Shop, but it is very small, except for trinkets, swimming goggles and magnets there is nothing)
We visited excursions : snorkeling 190 $ for two, several hours, all masks-fins are given out, a beautiful view is taken by the guide, the most impressive thing seen on snorkeling is turtles and that's it.. the underwater world should be viewed in the Red Sea))
We went for a ride on a jet ski - 20 min 127 $. For extreme people - a theme! For the rest, do not waste money)))
We wanted to go to dolphins, but the weather was unstable that day - it rained all day, so we refused.
For those who want peace, quiet, a minimum of people - definitely here.
We were there for 6 days and for a mega relaxing holiday it's great 👌
The hotel is a solid three. Everything seems to be new, and there is a boat transfer nearby from the airport, which is extremely convenient with children. But still something was missing, the service was weak, there were many questions about the organization of the territory. We lived in a family bungalow on the island, behind them the floor of the island industrial zones - greenhouses, dormitories, etc. everything would be fine, but the staff parties exceeded the scope and volume of individual events, which is simply unacceptable.
If you want to live in peace, take rooms with a swimming pool, they are on the other side of the island.
The beach is wide, the sand is so-so. Once during our stay, it was loosened and it became ok. The bottom is in the rocks, it is difficult to enter without special equipment
The kitchen is OK, the cook Anton is very good, he cooked for the children specially.
There is little information for those with young children. So - they gave wooden beds, a meter long, darkish, but approx.
They also gave us pots, although they told us that they were not there and we brought our own. There is no children's table and menu, but the cook cooked what we ask, taking into account the characteristics of children (allergies)
The cocktails were made well, but very slowly. A dollar for tea worked wonders. Stock up on change.
They gave 5 for cleaning, everything was also clear and everything was done at a convenient time for us.
To summarize, if you are waiting for a million vacation for a million, then no, this is not the place
But otherwise everything is fine. We will not go to this hotel a second time. Only with food everything is right, for the Maldives it is important, but not the most important thing.
Have a nice rest
I really liked it, I didn't want to leave.
You can admire the local views endlessly, the sea is very lively - snorkeling right on the beach near the bungalow. The food is very tasty. Baking is the best of all the places we've been. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Among the disadvantages: prices and the ability to pay only in dollars issued after 2006. At the time of the trip, it turned out to be a problem to find such bills in Moscow.
