Cafe "Khinkalnaya u Rai".
A small, inconspicuous cafe in a quiet corner near the New Athos Waterfall. The menu is small, but there is a dish for every taste. Nothing superfluous.
And now about why you DEFINITELY need to visit "Paradise".
The hostess of the cafe - a welcoming, sweet, kind, bright Paradise - cooks as if she knows some secret that makes the most traditional Abkhazian dishes unforgettable delicious. Khinkali, hashlama, khachapur - everything is amazingly fragrant, satisfying and sincere.
The highlight of the cafe is desserts. Raisa is not only an excellent cook, but also a pastry chef. Here you can taste delicious baskets with cream, meringue and much more. Everything is made from natural products, we have seen how desserts are baked, tried the freshest cream and still warm meringue. I have never tasted tastier desserts in Abkhazia.
The prices are pleasant, neither above nor below average. But the quality that you get for this money is not comparable! You will not eat anywhere else in Athos so tasty and pleasant for money.
Thank you, Aunt, Raya! We miss you and dream of coming back.
Our favorite place for lunch was there. We always ate alone, because we went out of season. A very friendly hostess, as if she had come to visit her grandmother. Very tasty and inexpensive khinkali, wonderful hashlama, the usual vegetable salad was wonderful. And baking.... It's just a top. All baking is done in the same place. The baskets of 50 rubles were simply divine. On the final day, I ate 3 pieces there at once. I definitely recommend it. And the traditional 10% service fee is not included in the bill there, which is also very good. although we always left tips.
There is a very cute dog running around, somewhat similar to Dobby from Harry Potter
A top secret place and the main cafe of New Athos. You won't find it on purpose, just by accident)
Aunt Rai's is very tasty, feel free to order whatever you want.
The best breakfasts and the most affordable price are here.
I cordially and warmly recommend you to visit. Other cafes will not be needed.
The food is terrible, as if they left feces of their own production. We came to eat, khinkali. they waited a very long time, they brought it on a dirty tray. They said to take it away as soon as possible. Excuse me, but how should you disrespect yourself to sit and eat there, the food is disgusting, as I said. the walls are pink, the sky is blue.... It's not pretty. the food looks like feces. what was delicious was the air.... They searched for Paradise all over the cemetery, and she sat and watched tiki toki -_- barely paid off, and ran away, so that their heels sparkled. But it didn't help, because after 15 minutes I started to drift further than I saw.
Don't come here.
The tables are dirty, the walls are covered in cobwebs, the hostess / waitress / cook/ cashier and the administrator in one person, this is a complete ACHTUNG!!! They came specially to eat khinkali, waited 40 minutes, brought it on a dirty tray, told them to take it off the tray faster! Khinkali in Rai is a separate art form. The dough is like dumplings, loose and overcooked. Inside, instead of meat, some kind of incomprehensible mass ... Leaving, we searched for Paradise all over the barn to pay and even went into her kitchen, but it would be better, of course, we did not do this, because this is a hotbed of cholera! And like the cherry on the cake, the child vomited in a taxi an hour later, with these very hinkals. Of course, a sanitary inspection station should be sent here!!!
It's not tasty at all, khinkali turned out to be overcooked, just fell apart, homemade wine like alcohol took a sip and did not drink further, the child did not eat the cutlet with mashed potatoes, I do not advise this place, and a large general cleaning is also required.
We were tempted by the name "Khinkalnaya", we really wanted khinkali....We came and ordered it....It's a long wait....it seems that they have just begun to be molded to order ... after 30 minutes they brought, the khinkali are all defective, overcooked and most importantly all full of holes, i.e. it will not work to bite and drink the broth, although it tastes very tasty...khachapur was also ordered...they brought it, began to cut it - they found a black hair...they did not swear, they really wanted to leave as soon as possible! We really regretted that we spent a lot of time on such a lunch, there are many decent cafes and canteens nearby!
I was not impressed. Khinkali are mediocre, there is little meat. The harchapur was delicious until it was frozen, but overall it was not bad. I took the drink, it turned out to be half a year overdue, and the lid of the jar was in some kind of ground (check the expiration date).
The best place in new Athos in terms of price-quality ratio. Very tasty borscht and khinkali, the boat and khachapur are excellent. Other dishes are also quite tasty.
It's a wonderful place. We had lunch every day of our vacation only here. Trout, shish kebab, khinkali and khachapuri - everything is very tasty! Friendly hosts, wonderful atmosphere. Thank you very much!
Everyone who is in New Athos, be sure to visit this cafe! Khinkali is delicious, the prices are pleasant, the hosts are very welcoming! While we were resting, we constantly looked at them, it was always delicious!
We came in by accident, bribed by a local dog 😅
We ordered a barbecue and wine
Everything is gorgeous and the service and the barbecue is juicy and the wine is fine (so much so that we took it with us)
I would not say that it was cheap, they took the first one, they did not like it, everything was chopped into pieces, an incomprehensible piece of meat, and the taste was for an amateur (they did not eat). The service is a C-minus. the interior is from the 90s.I didn't like it, there are many other establishments nearby, with more interesting cuisine.
The food is not expensive, the kebab is delicious, the fat does not float. Khinkali is delicious. The portions are large, the prices are very pleasant, I would say below average. Polite service staff. A large selection of confectionery products. Everything is family-friendly. I advise you!
Grandmother Seranush, the only negative review of the catering in Abkhazia, brought sour borscht from straw, refused silently, without negativity on our part.... And we learned a lot about ourselves, ordered khinkali for the child, brought one bitten, also listened to a number of lectures on catering, not even the USSR .... Avoid this place... Boorish service... there is nothing to say about the food.
We liked it, we ate ajapsandal, we drank homemade wine and coffee, we ate Napoleon (we didn't really go in, maybe we had already eaten by this time)))) and baskets. We were satisfied with the quality of the food, homemade, the prices are average
The best place! Everything is homemade, sooo delicious! The hostess and her daughter are the sweetest girls! We ate there all the rest and we want more!
Greetings from Anya and Sasha)
We were at the cafe with the Dan family only 3 times, as it was a bit far for us to go. BUT at the same time I REALLY LIKED IT. The child ate a barbecue only here!
A bad, very bad place. It is better not to order a barbecue, it will be brought undercooked.Smoked meat was also taken, raw inside.Khinkali are shapeless, like 4 tortillas, with incomprehensible contents.Khachapur is delicious!

An amazing family-run establishment, insanely delicious desserts (which are prepared right there), very low prices, the most friendly hosts. We've been there a bunch of times, but it still feels like it's not enough.
The food is wildly greasy and you can forget about meat, only chunks of fat will float. The service is rude. The waiter may confuse dishes from two orders, what would happen if there were other customers besides us... They probably forget that there is no work here.
