Hello oh my God it was awesome. It was beautiful have so much history and I am grateful to be Armenian. I love my country very historical country. We have God bless Armenia.🇦🇲🇦🇲🙏🙏
A beautiful historical monastery, a magnificent view of Ararat. The road to the place is good. Admission is free. It was not far from Yerevan. One of the most popular places in Armenia is worth seeing.
Originally, this monastery was a prison. St. Gregory the Illuminator spent 15 years here. The dungeon is located in the chapel of St. Gregory the Illuminator, you can go down 6 meters by a metal staircase. It was here that the king converted to Christianity. In clear weather, there is a beautiful view of Ararat from here.
An active monastery. Beautiful ancient architecture, it's nice just to be alone with your thoughts, it's interesting to look at the active service. In addition, a little further there is a path up the mountain with an excellent observation deck, from where you can see Ararat in good weather. But with the toilet on site, please do something! It's impossible to even be around, let alone go inside
Beauty. Gregory the Illuminator spent 13 years in prison here. You can go down to the dungeon, if you manage to get there through the crowd of people, of course. The Armenian-Turkish border and the foothills of Mount Ararat are visible
The atmosphere is 100%%
The incredibly beautiful view of Ararat, in other respects it is the only place close to the greatness of the mountain ...
the monastery is also very impressive.
I especially recommend going down into the underground bunker. It's a very interesting feeling there. Goosebumps just fuss there))
The most picturesque place. Very ancient churches. The spirit of the times is felt. From the observation deck, you can contemplate the territory of Turkey and Mount Ararat (if there is no haze). At the foot of the mountain they sell souvenirs and make delicious coffee on the sand.
It was only after visiting here that I learned that it means "deep pit" in translation. It is very reminiscent of the Turkish Zindan, because this was the place where George the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years. The border with Turkey is 4 km away, you can see it if you climb the mountain behind the monastery. There is also a beautiful view of Ararat, it's just a pity that it was in a haze. A place of power with beautiful views and a thousand-year history.
A great place, it offers a magnificent view of Mount Ararat. The monastery itself is also impressive, there is an underground prison (cave), I recommend everyone to go down there.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍A huge tip-be sure to visit this place. Very nice view. Great photos. And if you are also a good guide, you will be absolutely delighted
The ancient monastery is located at the foot of Mount Ararat, right on the border with Turkey. The first catholicos of Armenians, Shrigoria the Enlightener, was imprisoned in the dungeon of this monastery. A beautiful, interesting place. You can get there by yourself, by taxi or, as in our case, with an excursion to Tatev.
I enjoyed a ride through all the antiquities of Armenia, all the old monasteries, visited all the old churches, joined the ancient culture right in the classroom
Just an iconic place. The place, according to legend, where Christianity came from in Armenia. Everything breathes history here. Grikor Lusavorich, King of Trdat. These names alone are awe-inspiring. Just goosebumps. Unless, of course, you come here not only for a view of Ararat, the closest point in Armenia to the foot of Ararat. Even the mobile operator congratulates you that you are in Turkey and offers profitable roaming. I highly recommend it. We got a lot of pleasure from visiting the temple and views of Ararat.
A very beautiful place, definitely worth a visit, I do not know what is happening there, but the awareness of the value of life and the beauty of the world comes exactly.
An amazing place, words cannot explain, you need to visit. The monastery itself and the surrounding area are very interesting. The border of Armenia and Turkey, a Turkish village and mosques can be seen across the river.
The beginning of the baptism of Armenia . A very ancient place. The border with Turkey . Mount Ararat is perfectly visible. Observation deck. Lots of tourists .
Do not take pigeons at the entrance to the temple, which are thrust into your hands) they will ask you to tie 2000 drams to the paw, so that you will be happy 🤣 There is a coffee shop in the parking lot. Tourists are charged four times more for coffee than locals. The real price for a cup of coffee is 250 drams. Very beautiful view of Ararat
The power and strength are incredible! Everything breathes the history and wisdom of the Armenian people! Prosperity to this country and its great people!

A place to go in Armenia. The unique cave of Gregory the Illuminator - saint of both the Russian Orthodox Church and the Armenian Apostolic Church. A place at the foot of Mount Ararat with unique views
One of the oldest buildings in Armenia. The interesting uniqueness of the building. The visit is free! I liked. To find out everything properly, you have to hire a guide. But it's worth it.
