Well-known, popular and probably the only one in this area of the city. It is located close to the center and all tourists do not pass by, it is not a bad view of the city, but also not great.
An observation deck in the Upper Town (Vyshgorod) on Toompea hill at the end of Kohtu street. It is located above the Pikk Yalg gate - the best panoramic view of Tallinn opens from here. A wonderful view of the Old Town, which is beautiful both during the day (the famous tiled roofs) and at night (excellent illumination of the sights). You can take great photos from the site! A popular tourist destination, it is always crowded here!
We were at the observation deck on January 6, 2020. We arrived from Riga, and since we didn't leave very early, we ended up here in the afternoon. It gets dark quickly in January and we were afraid that the view of Tallinn at dusk would not be very good. Yes, we did not have time to see the red-brown tiled roofs of Tallinn in daylight, but even at dusk the view of the city turned out to be good. With the lights on, it was very beautiful to see the towers of old Tallinn, cathedrals, buildings, and the port. We really liked it. We were lucky that there weren't too many people....the observation deck is small and when there are a lot of people here, it is probably quite crowded....but in any case, this place is worth visiting and admiring the view of the city from above.
