I graduated from college this year and I want to share for those who are thinking of applying here, namely for the profession of a software engineer.
The learning process
If you think that you will come here, unlearn and get everything ready on a platter, then this is not the case at all. Here, the success of learning depends only on you. About 70% of students do not even understand why they entered this specialty. The first year of study is relatively quiet, adaptation is still underway after school, teachers do not exert much pressure, the information is presented quite clearly, but there are no stuffy teachers who consider their subject 8 a wonder of the world. After the first year, the teachers change, and the attitude towards learning also begins to change. There are teachers who really try to convey information and teach you professional disciplines, and there are those who, frankly, do not really care how the learning process goes. Usually these are those who come only to work out, and although they do not overload, you will not get much benefit from their activities. Unfortunately, without independent practice at home, you should not count on a serious level of training here. In college, you will be given rather basic knowledge, which is barely enough for an initial understanding of the profession. Rating: 5/10.
The training system
The education system at this college leaves much to be desired. Unnecessary items are constantly being added that are not related to programming at all and are unlikely to be useful in the future. The division of learning by programming languages is also poorly organized. For several years you have been learning only C#, and only a little time remains for other languages. Laboratory work, course projects — all in C#. If you study other languages independently, in parallel, this can lead to a mess in your head. So it is not necessary to rely on a multi-line development here. Rating: 3/10.
Teachers
This is probably the most interesting part. Most teachers put a lot of pressure on students, but there are exceptions — those who support, help and treat with understanding. The attitude of the teachers will largely depend on your attitude towards them: if you are a slacker, like to mess around and everything else, then you will be felled until the end of your studies. Most teachers are good at presenting the material and try to explain the basic principles. But even here there are two camps: some overload students with independent and written tasks, require memorization, others are more understanding and ready to compromise. In general, I can give a rating of 7/10.
Administration
The situation is the same with the administration. There are those who really care about students (for example, the director), and there are others who cause negative impressions and vocabulary expansion. Here was a case: we have removed the tuition fee benefit due to the fact that there should be no passes in the year, from the word at all, which is basically impossible. This information has not been officially announced anywhere and many say that this is nonsense. It seems to me that the main goal of the administration is to earn more, not to help students develop. Students participating in competitions promote the name of the college, but they do not receive special thanks or encouragement. It is only thanks to conscientious employees that the administration deserves a 4/10 rating.
Final conclusions
The decision to go to college is, of course, your choice. I came here on the advice, because I was told that they provide high-quality education here, but, as it turned out, this is not the case. During the study period, of course, there were many pleasant moments and memories, mainly thanks to the friendly team and excellent curator (Julia Kurbako), who always supported us. Without her, I might not even have finished my studies here and dropped out. Constant pressure from teachers and administration, chaotic schedules (sometimes there were up to four couples a day for a month), strange evaluation criteria and shortcomings of the training system, all this affects you. If I had been asked if it was worth going to this college, I would have answered firmly — no, it's not worth it. Despite the fact that there are people here who are trying to develop the college (for example, Sarvirova is a very intelligent and responsive woman, although she may seem strict), the situation as a whole leaves much to be desired.
I would like to thank people like Sarvirova, the Director, Kukharenko, Gorchakova, Oleinikova, Shavlinskaya, Kurbako, Rusnak, Pozdnyakova, Sanych — these are those who inspire hope and work for the benefit of students. At the same time, I want to express a negative attitude towards Melekh (both), Piletskaya and Solovyova, since their attitude and approach to work, in my opinion, do not contribute to the educational process, I wish them all the same benefits and a long life.
Before you enroll and choose a profession, think about how much you need it. Four years is a long time, and you shouldn't waste time. Do not miss a vital opportunity, be yourself and if you are firmly confident in your abilities, go ahead.
First, I will introduce myself: I am a graduate of this college with an IT degree. The picture for other specialties may be completely different.
Now for the review, I'll start with the pros:
Teachers: 7/10
Hostel: 8/10
Convenient location in the city center. The hostel is 1 km from the academic building (15 minutes walk)
What's the downside:
• About teachers: In disciplines important for the future profession, teachers know their subject and are able to explain it well. I will list them by family names: Sarvirova, Kukharenko, Lapitsky, Gulevich, Balakir, etc.
(What I mean is that there will be many big discoveries for even schoolchildren, high school students, including teachers who do not know their subject. You can also give a lecture from a sheet of paper to a high school student)
• About what you will be taught: you learn by making every possible effort for the best result. It is clear that all the material that you will be taught at lectures on IT specialties has been freely available on the Internet for a long time. Those who want to study themselves in their free time, including in the classes themselves, and those who don't really need it will whine that they won't teach anything at this college * (there is one thing, read the entire review).
• Leadership bias: "There is no better joy than the misfortune of another person," according to one of the representatives of the college leadership, their exact motto. No, it's not all rotten yet.
We all live in different conditions, and with different opportunities and circumstances. (according to the statistics I have collected, usually only a third of the group (30 people) comes on their own, and this is a serious problem). Yes, since 1997 (or 2007), the student himself can no longer apply for admission on his own (the presence of a legal representative is not necessary: parents or guardian). Without zach. They won't even accept your documents. You will also need a document certifying the identity of Zak. a representative (it won't work to take a sister or an acquaintance). And IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A HOSTEL WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF a LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE (provided that you are a nonresident and there are free places) - these are very important nuances that are not talked about in schools or anywhere else for some reason. Mostly bullshit about how to make a resume and how to choose a profession (two types of people: 1 - the final choice from an early age. the second one is the letter "Y" - the first ones will choose a profession themselves, and the second one is career guidance before the lamp)
Since everyone is eager to live THEIR own life, and not waste time and retrain twice, then everyone wants to go to study there, in the profession where they want to go themselves. And if, by a very lucky coincidence, you are still allowed to apply to this college, and one of the legal representatives miraculously allowed you to apply for a programmer (and not for a specialty you dislike in order to create problems for you). Then the following will happen:
Such parents will seek your expulsion (in order to catch an even greater thrill from bullying you - in other words, colleagues of the head of the GGAEC on the diagnosis), from the parents there will be different methods of pressure (both moral and physical), prohibit learning, developing, performing DZ, communicating, engaging in any hobby, prohibit any interests, and just leaving the territory of the house (except for studying). Parents will justify the drop in your academic performance in any way - bad company, suspicion of drugs, computer games (they hardly know what the words "programming" and "development" mean). The management will be willing to believe (since a lot of good guys will study with you. Yes, this is another discovery that awaits you in life after admission.
The leadership of the college will do everything possible to assist such parents (their leadership's brain has been atrophied for a long time, logic does not work). Under the leadership are understood: Solovyova, Vrublevskaya, Rusnak (the character is peaceful, but from a lesser point of view, but we will refer to this group). Many people dislike Melekh for her strictness, but bias against students for fun is not at all about her. Instead of giving at least some advice, they will blame everything on the transition age, then something else, so that they just get rid of them.
If it is forbidden to do homework at home, the student will do them after classes, in the classroom that is not locked at the end of the day. There will be teachers who will periodically expel you for fun without explanation, but most often Lapitsky A.G. (although he teaches 10 out of 10, but with his own mistakes). It was not comme il faut to swear with teachers, it was easier to act (at one time I myself went to the library of another educational institution, sat there, explaining the situation to them (it was GSU im Fr. Skoriny))
Teachers will help such non-parents to harass you (and what can a 14-year-old freshman do, he will still return home in the same mess). The leadership will be against you for fun to the last.
There is a solution: only Director Serov quickly puts in place such deputies with brain diseases. They are very afraid of him. If there is such a game at home, then until your academic performance has dropped below the baseboard from such a situation, immediately send a memo to the director immediately (in any form). Do not start the situation, because as long as you are an excellent student, the chances of making more effective decisions by the director of taming deputies are higher. He has been aware of what is happening for a long time. At a minimum, the number of substitutes from the deputies to your address will decrease sharply to zero, which is already a serious result.
There is a solution: for such "relatives" and "families" - there is such a thing as a state. provision. If you really have such a situation, parents can be deprived of their rights (or guardian) - from the moment of transition to the state. only a bright future awaits you. (but this is if real tin is really going on, and not your exaggerations after receiving a well-deserved thrashing for failure : D ). Again, you go to the director (you will be directed to Vrublevskaya, you show this review, they have been aware of what is happening for a long time).
Why am I writing all this - so that none of you go through this, and the deputies immediately understand where their place is.
• The leadership scam: Each of you wants to go on to study at a university (which goes without saying) and work for the company you want to work for (and in which you are already known). Consider a case where parents are acting against you, so instead of a good job, they will try to lock you up in the shit (forcibly force you to sign the target direction. It is believed that it is not so difficult to put pressure on 14-15 year olds). You will spend a month or two together, they will arrange such harassment that you will go and sign (but this is a digression). I just chose the worst-case scenario so that the handwriting of the heads (deputies) was better understood
. For a long time I tried to figure out what motives drive the heads (and failed). In short, in simple words, they will blatantly lie about the distribution. The list of enterprises for distribution will be closer to the end of the last course (the first deputies. For example. Solovyov) will call his favorites to the office (the system of favorites is a separate plague in the GGEC, but not the essence), where the best places will be sorted out. The rest of the students in the group - what's left.
The tiniest thing is that with the possibilities of action after graduating from college, you will be lied to brazenly in the eyes (most of all, it is Solovyov). With one goal - that you work in the state farm for a minimum wage (which will go to housing and the road). For example: a student enrolled in a university, at the end of the university chooses another place to practice. Solovyova will foam at the mouth and have seizures, poking at some papers to prove the opposite. And there are many such moments. The deputies of the dirtcore will want to lie and want to throw you at every step. The solution is described below:
The decision against kidalov is directed by: the universities have a separate position in the staff - a lawyer on general issues. You contact us anonymously, explain the situation, what kind of lawlessness is happening in the GGAEC. It is best to contact a lawyer at PolesSU (Polessky State University) - this is in Pinsk, but they are warned to the smallest detail about the game going on in the GGAEK. They will help you right away. And you can trust them. People value their reputation there. This is not a GGAEC.
I only give one star out of five for the scam.
The quality of the food in the buffet has dropped dramatically since my graduation. No one has ever gone there in 40 minutes.
The college no longer has a second and third academic building. Teacher turnover.
If you don't let the management get arrogant and sit on your neck, don't be lazy to study, and you are capable in IT, then you can go there!
Recently, we have added several interesting new disciplines, they do not load excessively, there is a lot of free time to conduct their scientific research, projects and side jobs in their free time.
Excellent college, I am a student of this college in my last year. Both the college administration and teachers make concessions, got a job, at some points put pairs that coincide with the schedule at work, signed a plan so that there would be no absenteeism for disrespectful reasons, if something does not work out in any subject, the teacher will always explain and help. I will say exactly about studying to be a programmer, if you go to college to be a programmer, you yourself must understand that they will not teach you professionally here, it all depends on you, they will give you a good base in college, and then choose for yourself, study programming courses with some understanding or choose another profession. I can say a huge thank you to this college, you will be supported by everyone and in everything, but the main aspiration.
