The Kovcheg Cafe is a wonderful place! I liked it very much. Delicious and inexpensive. I enjoyed the Belarusian dish "Potato grandmother". The cafe is spacious, beautiful and cozy. Stylishly decorated!
The cafe is located in the Kovcheg spiritual and educational center on the territory of the Minsk St. Elizabeth Monastery. I was there during the Christmas Fast and noticed that, in addition to lean dishes, you could also choose meat food. I think that's wise. After all, everyone goes here. Fasting is good and useful for a person who lives the church life; it is one of the elements of the church life. It makes no sense to demand strict observance of all church posts from a person who is far from the Church or someone who is just starting to take the first steps in the Church.
It's an amazing place! It's very atmospheric and calm. Visitors who have come to have a delicious meal are not in a hurry, they do not talk loudly. The menu is quite diverse (I don't know who found the assortment meager from the reviews below, but I really wonder where you eat in this case?). There is a lean menu, the food is fresh and delicious. I will not lower the rating, but this is the second time the side dish is cold, do not skimp on heating. The room is huge, there are enough places even for lunch. There are no queues. The price is generally "pennies".
A good place) there are areas for entertaining children: the Batleika theater, origami, a mini-museum of Belarusian life on the 4th floor, a concert hall and an exhibition of the creation of the Ark on the 3rd floor, a cafe is located on the 2nd (there is a lot of space, it's cozy enough, it's nice to be here). During our visit, the fair and St. Elizabeth's room were located on the 1st floor. I recommend you to visit
