Great hotel.. I have been to Sri Lanka many times, so there is something to compare it with..
Excellent location relative to Unawatuna, shops and different beaches in any direction..
Excellent breakfast - for Sri Lanka, very varied with a selection of fruits..
The hotel is renovated, everything is clean and fresh, and minor work is still being done in some places..
Excellent hotel management.. It is clear that the general manager (Mr. Douglas) has adjusted the work and everything is being done for tourists.. I got a room with noise from the road - I asked to move because I can't sleep with noise, the next day he moved me to a quiet room. It is clear that thanks to him, the hotel is in order and the staff is very executive...
We went to this hotel at random.
There were reviews, but all in 2016-2019.
We have already vacationed in Sri Lanka, so we understood where we want to live.
To say that we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel is to say nothing. We were jumping with happiness, how pleased we were.
The hotel is renovated, with brand new EVERYTHING. There is not even an old nail anywhere.
Refrigerator, hair dryer, soap dishes, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, glasses, mugs, hangers.
Beach towels are also provided (very rare in Asia)
The staff is a separate topic. They are good-natured, responsive, with a smile on their face. Always ready to help you! And that's absolutely everything: the girls at the reception, the security, and the usual hard workers. Bravo! Keep it up ! Insanely pleasant!
Breakfast.
While there were no Chinese, the breakfasts were great! Oatmeal porridge (direct credit to the cook), omelette, pancakes, toasts, vegetables, jam, fruits
(stunningly sweet and delicious) : pineapples, carambola, papaya, watermelons, sausages, something hot, for example chicken, fried pineapples (ate for the first time - test), waffles only baked, warm (divine), butter, boiled potatoes, rice. As soon as the plates ran out of food, the waiters immediately replenished them with something.
But when the Chinese came, it couldn't be called breakfast! No porridge, omelette, sausages were served. There was something Asian, not edible, not tasty. There was only one kind of fruit. No waffles, no pancakes, really NOTHING! If something ran out, the waiters reluctantly delivered it little by little. Because the Chinese like locusts attacked and ate everything. These days I had to have breakfast somewhere.
As soon as the group with the Chinese left, everything went back to normal, it was very tasty and in sufficient quantity.
The pool in the hotel is not big, but in the evenings we went to dinner with our food and drinks and swim in the pool. There are tables and chairs there. It's very cozy.
We got a suite! Ohhh, thank you! This is a very large room with a Jacuzzi on a huge private balcony. The only drawback is that there is a great view from the corridor to the balcony with a Jacuzzi. The designer made a mistake with his imagination here. (Or maybe it's on purpose) : ) :
The hotel is located a 5-minute walk from Unawatunu Beach, a three-minute walk from an alcohol market and a fruit stand.
Summary: to go there - definitely - YES!
Nice hotel. Near the ocean.Convenient location.
There's a liquor store nearby.Kind friendly staff.
They'll always tell you everything. Cleaning was 5 out of 5, towels and soap accessories were changed every day. They often made figures out of towels.
