Within walking distance from the coastline on the Sukhum embankment there are only 2 restaurants with a rating of 5.0 (Leon and Nartaa for July 2022).
It turned out to go into both of them, it will not work to compare them, because they are of different classes.
- Nartaa is focused on the mass flow, the location of the tables is more reminiscent of the Russian cafe chain "Mu-Mu".
- Leon restaurant at the hotel of the same name is oriented towards higher service in terms of entourage and tables.
The dishes are delicious, they are cooked quickly. A saucer with water was not served to the fried lamb (to clean the hands of the fish). Otherwise, I liked everything

One of the popular restaurants. The summer porch is a great place. We only tried breakfast. It's quite normal. It's not too thick with vegetables, though, two slices of cucumbers and tomatoes each. The coffee is delicious. The waiters are neat, polite, but not smiling. Even some serious ones.
I took off the asterisk because I once saw a mouse in the restaurant hall (not in the summer veranda!!)

There was a favorite restaurant in Sukhumi, until I ordered tom yam, it was just water and not broth and without coconut milk, just adjika water and three shrimp and two cherry tomatoes floated, there was no limit to my disappointment, I was very upset after paying 800 rubles for soup!!!
I even wanted to call the administrator but I restrained myself, I don't like swear especially on vacation!

We ordered food from the restaurant on August 19th . The delivery took a long time. There was a chicken bone in a warm salad with chicken breast. The cutlet is overcooked in the Leon burger. Caesar is just a combo: instead of parmesan, ordinary cheese, instead of cherry tomatoes, there are no crackers, the chicken is salted and overcooked. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of food in delivery with such a rating and price level

Look for a guest house on the embankment. Leon is unfortunately not the best option. Expensive, the staff forgot what a smile is. It's a great place. Good service, trained waiters, pleasant and inexpensive menu. I really liked that you can pay with a savings card, including mir. We came in from the road to have breakfast.there were pancakes and porridge and all kinds of donuts, cheesecakes with sour cream and jam, fried sausages, sausages with scrambled eggs and herbal seagulls. Stained glass windows allowed you to admire the view from the window. And the conduits! It's not hot! We will definitely come back again :))

The food is amazing! during the week we had dinner in Leon three times, each time we ordered new dishes and each time we had one desire - to lick our fingers uncivilely as a sign of delight) The waiters work excellently, serve dishes very smartly, clear the table, can prompt on any menu item. The chefs are just bravo!

Sushi, turkey salad is delicious. I recommend it. But there are also unsuccessful dishes, as everywhere else, but in general, the restaurant is just respect!!! The price tag has increased, but the price-quality is at the same level. We lived in Leon 2 times in winter and we have already studied everything on the menu. In the summer, when we rest, we definitely visit several times.

The food is decent, tasty and healthy, the price is quite high, but according to the toga, it seemed to us that it was adequate. The staff is professional and has been carrying out their "service" for a long time, you can communicate with them and this should be taken into account)))
Parking nearby can be problematic, but you can find a place on the neighboring streets, everything is nearby.
It works all year round, so it is indispensable in winter.

We had dinner with a large group on the street, most of them ordered rolls. As a result, not only is it not tasty, then everyone has stomach problems, and the child has poisoning with fever the next day.
In addition, the service is very slow, and the cost categorically does not correspond to both the level and quality. The final price of one steak is 3,800, and this is in Abkhazia.
The survivors liked the pizza, the 3,800 steak, and the Daiquiri (they wanted a mojito, but this elite restaurant ran out of mint).
Well, on the street, while you wait for service in this chic place, gypsy beggars will definitely work for you - take care of your phones.
The resume is a complete fiasco.
The reality does not coincide with the strangely high rating of the institution in Yandex, combined by the way with the assessment of the hotel in which the institution is located.
Think twice before visiting.

I am writing an opinion solely as a "tourist": Leon is probably the best place in Sukhum. Normal rolls, cold beer, relatively low prices, pleasant atmosphere and adequate, neat staff. It doesn't seem to be anything supernatural, does it? Yes, but this is Sukhum specifically and Abkhazia in general, and therefore this level is already fine. I recommend.

probably the only normal Japanese food establishment in the abh, thanks for the "bon appetit" sticks that were not translated through a translator, but a big minus is there is too much dressing in the Thai salad, the noodles are rich, I do not like this and I was not warned, and the most minus is that the soup is "fo—bo" at all it does not look like "pho bo", somehow glass noodles turned out to be in it instead of pho noodles, and also there are not enough spices in this soup

It's a pity that we couldn't go back to them a second time - I wanted to try something else. Probably next year now.
In general, it was encouraging to see new restaurants and hotels in Sukhumi. Of course, you always want more and faster (so that the region develops more dynamically), but thanks anyway to those who move the republic forward.

Leon restaurant is a great place to chat with the staff, sit on the upholstered sofas. But IN NO case should you eat anything there! We ordered a burger, the cutlet is dry (it feels like it was fried at lunch and just warmed up before serving.) the sauce is smeared for the sake of appearance on the top bun, the result is somehow mastered by half.... And the price is ~ 600 rubles! Caesar salad with shrimp sauce is normal, cheese is even parmesan but SHRIMP! this is the center of taste (And they seem to be from a week-old billet, HOW can shrimp be dried?) pizza for children with chicken... It's just a masterpiece, the chicken probably died a painful death.(the taste of the old, not the first freshness of chicken, cooked simply in boiling water without problems) ((the children refused to eat)). There was also grilled trout in the order. They just brought grilled trout. That is, the fish was gutted, washed and grilled! In a country where spices are put in everything... just trout. Not salted, not peppered, fragrant herbs (no, we haven't heard about it...) in general, the place is a class to drink something from the bar menu and sit and chat. I do not recommend it for consumption!!!
