The collection is large and beautiful, the museum is new, very beautiful inside and out. During our trip, there was a temporary exhibition of Impressionists from the Musee d'Orsay, including van Gogh, we were so lucky, it was wonderful. The location is good, there is a direct bus that goes through the whole city, but if you live in the center, there are only a couple of stops. The architecture is wonderful, it's set up on the water, so the photos will turn out great. The Guggenheim Museum is being built nearby, but it won't open until 2026, so when I get there, I'll definitely visit the Louvre again.
Ohhhh! I liked it! Very!!! There are only 12 halls.., from ancient civilizations to modern art! As far as I remember, the works (exposition) were leased from the original Louvre for 25 years, as well as the name)) Yes, let's have one painting by each of the outstanding Masters, but you don't get tired, you absorb every masterpiece, you pass it through yourself! You come out so full 🫶🫶🫶🙏😍 Kandinsky, Chagall, Manet, Monet, Gauguin, Matisse .., you can just spend an hour at each painting, BUT the main thing is of course Leonardo da Vinci "John the Baptist" ❤️ I can only compare with the Lady with the Ermine in Krakow and the Birth of Venus in the Uffizi 🙏 I would even advise not to read anything, see, get into it, remember your emotions and only then read the plot, the creation process and the meaning .., I recommend 💯
A very beautiful place, unusually designed, amazing sea views. I don't know much about art, but I visited the art gallery with great pleasure! It is a pity that the tour does not allocate a lot of time for excursions, due to restrictions and haste, not all exhibits can be carefully examined. Be sure to visit, I recommend it! A bright spot of Europe on a beautiful Arab land!
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a unique museum combining art, architecture and culture. The building impresses with its futuristic design with a majestic dome creating the effect of a "rain of light". The museum's collection includes masterpieces of world art — from ancient artifacts to modern works. The expositions are designed to show the evolution of humanity through art, which makes the visit a deep cultural experience.
An interesting fact: for the use of the Louvre brand and for the support from France, the UAE government paid more than 1 billion euros, including royalties, the cost of renting works of art and organizing temporary exhibitions. This makes the Louvre Abu Dhabi one of the most ambitious cultural projects in the world.
A very interesting place, I advise you to visit. The building seems to be immersed in water and inside in many places you can enjoy the coolness of the water. The exposition is not heavily loaded, but the space is well organized. There are many sofas and places to relax with a beautiful view of the bay. There is an online audio guide in Russian. At the end of the exhibition, there are additional exhibitions in the courtyard, do not forget to enter them, especially Mars for children. A very pleasant two-storey veranda with a cafe, a bar with music on top, an express dining room downstairs. Several more museums are being built nearby. I hope to get into them.
A wonderful gallery! I attended with children aged 10 and 15. Everyone liked it. There are many different exhibits. There are a lot of people on weekends, you need to go on weekdays (as well as to any attractions in the Emirates). It was especially nice to find the children's section in the Louvre. Children go through interesting tasks, studying cosmic phenomena. After passing, a diploma is sent to the post office.
It is beautiful, interesting, there are audio tours, there are not many exhibits, but there are originals. Clean, air conditioning, toilets and friendly staff everywhere. 4 stars for a jamb with signs- if you go by yourself, it's not very clear where to go and we regularly turned in the wrong direction and asked for directions. It is worth going at least because of the architecture of the dome- it is interesting
A unique collection of world art masterpieces. The exhibits are selected by period in chronological order, with a juxtaposition and comparison of different cultures and approaches to art. The collection is small compared to the Hermitage, but it's worth spending a whole day or two there. I recommend downloading a free application that has an audio guide in Russian to the most interesting exhibits. There is a restaurant and a cafe on the territory of the museum (the only place where you can smoke). In addition to the main exhibition, very interesting exhibitions are regularly held. Until 02/9/2025 - an amazing exhibition of impressionists and post-impressionists, with works by Cezanne, Gauguin, etc.
We were on the tour - I really liked it! The building itself is modern, of an unusual shape, but inside it is spacious, somehow cozy and, despite the large number of visitors, spacious, convenient to look at. I was pleased that the exposition is constantly changing, with entire collections. And the collections themselves are very competently compiled - from prehistoric times to the Impressionists, several exhibits from different regions. During our visit, there were just those masterpieces that I love))): Fayum portraits, Hokusai "Big Wave", several medieval paintings, the Order of the Golden Fleece, samurai armor, Egyptian statues. I recommend it!
A good, interesting, modern museum! I also visited the real Louvre in Paris, I liked the Louvre more in Abu Dhabi. In addition to paintings, sculptures and other beauty, you can admire the roof of this museum and relax on the steps near the water of the bay, I was lucky enough to see a large yacht sailing right next to the museum, almost a ship. The museum is completely surrounded by water, built on an artificial island. I definitely recommend you to visit.
The museum is simply amazing — the architecture is fascinating, and the art collection is very diverse. I enjoyed walking around the halls and looking at exhibits from different cultures. The atmosphere is calm, which allows you to enjoy the art. If you love art, you should definitely visit this museum! I was delighted!
We visited this museum in 2018. This is a truly unique building. From the point of view of architecture and other design solutions! Not all expositions were pleasantly impressed - this is my personal, philistine opinion. I was most impressed by the museum building itself! The designers are brilliant! The roof was especially impressive - when you look at the sky through this roof inside the building, you look at the clouds through the lace
First, the pros: a very modern and comfortable museum building, conducive to the enjoyment of works of art. Excellent air conditioning, it seemed to me, even some kind of fragrance in the air. High-minded people, free access to objects, and the absence of annoying museum staff. Cons: a very strange set of works. Lack of representation by subject, time, or other principle. A persistent feeling that they were assembled according to the principle-dishes to dishes, paintings to paintings. But the museum is very young, it has potential. I recommend you to visit.
It's a great place. If you are in the UAE, be sure to come to Abu Dhabi. Connoisseurs of antiquity and art will definitely like it here. The museum is divided into different halls and eras. The territory of the museum is huge. Unfortunately, we were already in the evening and there are boats that can be rented to sail
A stunning museum, with a large collection of authentic works of art. There is wifi and audio guides. There are a lot of visitors, but everything is so well designed that the crowd is not felt. The original design of the building, the territory on the street, there is a descent to the turtles.
The architecture of the building is very interesting, everything is very geometric, plus the combination with water makes this museum special. There are few exhibits, but enough space is given to each one, which allows you to walk calmly from one exhibit to another, concentrating on a single subject.
An interesting architectural solution, a wonderfully organized space, as for the building, the furnishings - everything is great. But the expositions themselves are not impressive in comparison with the museums of St. Petersburg and Moscow.
We were there several times, beautifully, without a crowd. You can safely consider and analyze everything. I really liked the exposition on children's fairy tales. Including old Fairy Tale Books. In general, the Louvre is very interesting in the truest sense!
The cafe is inside, on 3. We ordered a croissant, but it never came :)) They forgot.
The Louvre in Abu Dhabi is an amazing museum with a rich collection of art: real masterpieces of sculpture, paintings, dishes, frescoes. The museum is worth visiting for all art lovers and connoisseurs! You need to put in about 4 hours for a visit. The museum has free Wi-Fi and an audio guide. It is very convenient and interesting. The French living room has become my favorite exhibit for me personally. The museum has a lot of interactive content, temporary exhibitions and an exciting children's museum (I have not seen such solutions for demonstrating art in any museum - it is really fascinating and innovative)
The Louvre Museum, an amazing place, a very beautiful interior, architecture, a very large museum, so many expositions, an amazing location, connected to water and land, very beautiful, there are photo zones and even places to have a snack.
The Louvre in Abu Dhabi is amazing, as is everything in general in the Emirates. The unique roof of the building immediately sets you up for the beautiful and sublime.
We visited only the part devoted to ancient culture, and it was impressive. We just managed to see a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, John the Baptist, which will soon return home.
In addition, any exhibit is admired for its antiquity, grace, beauty, age of creation, etc.
Unfortunately, this time we were not able to see all the expositions. I hope to visit it again someday.
I advise everyone to visit the Louvre in Abu Dhabi and see with their own eyes all the beauty that is collected there.
Emirates . Abu Dhabi .
And yes, friends, there is a real Louvre in the Emirates.
How did it happen?
Abu Dhabi is a legendary museum that has become a point of attraction for fans of history, architecture and painting from all over the world.
It became an art museum in Abu Dhabi,
a branch of the Louvre in Paris. Really.
The Louvre in Paris has sold the United Arab Emirates the right to use its name in a future branch of the museum for 400 million euros.
The total cost of building a branch in Abu Dhabi is estimated at one billion euros. The agreement on the creation of a new museum was signed on March 6, 2007 in the capital of the UAE, the France Presse news agency reported.
The museum was opened in 2017 after long negotiations and huge investments.
The collection of the Louvre Abu Dhabi includes exhibits from various eras and civilizations, including paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso, Van Gogh, Manet, Bellini.
The museum building is a synthesis of European and Arab traditions: it has an openwork glass dome, snow-white walls and geometric channels with water.
You walk around the museum as if in some kind of fantastic space, You can stay here all day and come back the next day.
When you leave the museum , this incredible openwork roof and the realization that the museum stands on water . Everything is unusual ! Achievements of science and implementation into reality .
The Louvre Museum is located in Abu Dhabi on the island of Saadiyat in the Persian Gulf.
You can get here by car in 10 minutes from the center of Abu Dhabi or by bus 94. We took a taxi,
To rent an audio guide (25 drx), we did not meet in Russian, but if you need another language, take with you an identity document (for collateral).
Admission is free for children under 13 years old.
Enjoy. I wish you a pleasant time.
I was here in September 2024 on a guided tour. This is the "youngest" Louvre museum complex in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE (opened in 2017). The building itself is very interesting, it looks like a huge turtle with an openwork dome roof. The idea of the exhibition is the development of art and humanity from ancient civilizations to modern art. Here you can see real masterpieces of different eras and civilizations from Persia, ancient Egypt, Greece, the Roman Empire, etc. Unique paintings by great masters - Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Giovanni Bellini, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Cezanne, Picasso, Magritte, Chagall, etc.. I highly recommend this museum to art lovers and connoisseurs!! The unique works of art presented and the building itself will not leave you indifferent 😍
A wonderful space! Stylish, interesting. Unusual architecture. Of course, I liked the exposition. I highly recommend you to visit! I visited the Louvre in Paris and, of course, decided to visit this museum on occasion. Very impressed!
A wonderful exposition of different eras, different continents, different peoples, reflecting everyday objects, worship, architecture, interiors, books, maps, paintings, etc. Among the disadvantages, the minimum number of signs, the directions of viewing the exhibition, you can get carried away with getting acquainted with the exhibits of a certain hall, and in the future spend a little time searching for a transition to another place.
A beautiful place on the shore of the bay, large halls and a location! The exhibition is not expressive, there is no sense and historical epochs, a set of objects and things! You can see one painting by Monet and a couple of Rodin sculptures, everything else in passing!
A magnificent building, very interesting architecture, very beautiful lighting inside and gorgeous views at the golden hour. After entering the building, paintings are projected.
A must-visit in Abu Dhabi, the ticket came out a little over 60 dirhams on the 1st (end of November 24th)
An incredible architectural structure!!! Modern, thoughtful, concise!! If it were not for the delicate metal and concrete roof of the complex, one could say a minimalistic and ascetic architectural solution. And in contrast to the appearance of the cubic halls, such luxury is Leonardo da Vinci's "John the Baptist", Monet, Mathis, Gauguin, Rembrandt..
If you are in the Emirates, be sure to visit!
Louvre in the desert))
There is a branch of the Louvre in Abu Dhabi, where the building itself is an incredibly beautiful and stylish exhibit.
A huge openwork dome over the sea is fantastic!
The dome is made of 8000 parts - this design diffuses sunlight, creates protection and at the same time illuminates the room.
There is a trunk in the center, I had a strong association with the crown of a giant tree!
It's very impressive)
And Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Picasso, Cezanne, Renoir and Monet - for me 🔥 (apparently I went to Art School for 11 years for a reason;))
I soooo liked it!
And temporary exhibitions about the creation of fairy tales and myths of the peoples of the world are wonderful!!!
I advise everyone)
The building itself and the exposition are magnificent🔥
Modern architecture, unlike anything else: the art of straight lines under an openwork dome, a combination of white-gray with blue waters of pools and the sky.
13 halls. At first it seems that the exposition is sparse, the halls are half empty. But then you realize that everything is exactly as it should be, so as not to overload with information and present each exhibit in the best possible light. The collection is very diverse: sculptures, ceramics, sacred writings, paintings, tapestries, porcelain, from antiquity to the present. Monet and Manet (like a cruel joke, their paintings hang side by side), Chagall, Picasso, Kandinsky, Renoir. There are very cool interactive panels in each hall telling about each exhibit. There is a separate museum for children, a cafe, and a gift shop. Huge parking lot. I recommend taking 4 hours to visit. The Louvre deserves it.
P.S. I almost forgot: tickets for two cost $ 40.
The architectural design is fascinating: the Louvre stands on the water like an alien ship. The combination of a lace dome and snow-white cubes is a delight. The exposition is rich, from the most ancient civilizations to modern art. Da Vinci, Renoir, Chagall, Babylon, Japan, Mesopotamia, Greece..
A stylish, beautiful and modern museum. It is worth coming here even for the sake of the building itself to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful views. Be sure to download the Louvre app, so it will be easier to navigate and read or listen about the exhibits in your native language. The Louvre cafe is very expensive, I think that cafes at museums should have more loyal prices. The souvenir shop is also very expensive, we looked at it and left, although we planned to take something there as a souvenir. I was very impressed by the children's Louvre. In modern museums, it is customary to pay attention to children's development, respect for this! The game "Mars" was also impressed, the child was delighted!
A great location, I definitely recommend it. Very unusual and beautiful! You can take a walk, gain new emotions, hold a photo shoot, learn just great shots, you will definitely not regret it
My favorite place in Abu Dhabi. They bring interesting temporary exhibitions, and any corner of the museum is an amazing location for photos. Commercial filming is not coordinated here, but they allow you to use a professional mirrorless camera without question.
A wonderful place! I recommend it!
13 halls! 13!!!
The most diverse: paintings, sculptures, carpets, mummies, rooms...at the end, go out into the courtyard of the Louvre with its gorgeous roof and a view of the bay
+ free luggage storage, we leave our suitcases, backpacks and go for a walk
+ free audio guide, download the program by QR code and walk at your own pace, listen to stories about each exhibit
+ leather sofas with chargers everywhere
+ there is also a cafe and a souvenir shop
There is a nice park nearby, the embankment is cool, and there is also a bus stop nearby
...you can Google, look for a free bus to the Louvre, there is definitely one, depending on where you start from....we arrived on the free bus Dubai-Louvre and goes back..
The price of a ticket to the Louvre is $ 18, it's worth it.
A must-visit! Very different and interesting paintings from the Louvre.
The original building has a wonderful interactive museum for children.
An expensive restaurant with delicious food.
