The legendary Indonesian coffee kopi-luwak has become a real symbol of the island of Bali over the past decade and a must-try curiosity for every tourist! The main link in cooking
Coffee luwak is a musang animal or Malay palm marten (luwak). Musang feeds on ripe coffee beans. They are fermented in the stomach of the animal. Thanks to this, the grain is peeled from the berry and deprived of excess bitterness and caffeine. The collected marten excrement is washed several times, dried, then fried like ordinary coffee beans. Due to this specific fermentation process, kopi-luwak coffee has an original taste and aroma, and is considered the most expensive coffee in the world. In my opinion, it's definitely worth trying this coffee once and petting this cute animal! The owner of the store and farm was very friendly, he told us in an interesting way about coffee production, the history of its origin and distribution, and the differences in the types of luwak coffee. Only positive impressions and emotions remained from visiting this place!
P.S: the coffee itself was not particularly impressed☕ We tried 2 types of luwak coffee compared to regular coffee. Well, what can I say.. Coffee is like coffee) There was no desire to acquire. But as an interesting experience - why not!?
