Cigarettes are sold at a price more expensive than on a pack, thereby violating the law of the Russian Federation.
Paragraph 4 of Article 187.1 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation states that information on the maximum retail price should be applied to each pack of cigarettes. Article 13 of the Federal Law "On the Prohibition of Smoking" states that the sale of tobacco products at a price that is higher than the maximum retail prices is prohibited. This requirement must be met by retail, catering, service industries, as well as individual entrepreneurs.
For the sale of cigarettes at a price above the maximum retail prices or below the minimum retail prices, administrative liability is provided under Parts 1,2 of Article 14.6. of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. For overstating the maximum price, the fine is: for citizens — 5,000 rubles, for officials — 50,000 rubles or disqualification for up to three years, for legal entities — twice the amount of excessively received proceeds from the sale of goods for the entire period during which the offense was committed (but not more than one year).
