All that we love: a huge, deserted beach, along a fifty-meter strip of sand stretches a luxurious forest of casuarinas and a few deciduous ones. Comfortable entry into the water: the depth begins almost immediately, so the tides are not particularly noticeable. But with ocean waves rolling in, this can create problems for people with limited mobility. Coarse sand, turquoise clear water! There are no sun beds, we were lying on the beach mats. Plankton gnaws moderately in the water, loratodine helped to remove scabies. A wonderful place!

So-called tuk-tuks are delivered from the bus platform to the beach for 20 baht (although they have nothing in common with real tuk-tuks). I urge you, PEOPLE, in no case sit in them if your health is dear to you. 08/21/2024 one of these vehicles overturned, 2e tourists were injured, they had to go to the hospital and seek medical help: numerous abrasions, bruises on the face, fractures of the hand. Don't spoil your vacation.

The length is 11 km, there is enough space for everyone in the sun and in the shade. You can walk to the airplane beach for interesting photos. Sand and water are magical. There are NO flowing rivers with mud, as on Patong and Karon. Minus, the beach is not municipal unattended, only in the hotel area are cleaned, but otherwise both tourists and locals shit. Garbage that has not drowned yet from the 2004 tsunami is lying around, plastic (slates, bottles, lighters, toothbrushes, children's toys, glasses, etc.) Watch the movie "The Impossible" and you will understand.

We have been to this beach several times. It is wild, there are no sunbeds, umbrellas, lifeguards, cafes. It is possible to swim, but for those who swim well, it is almost immediately deep near the shore, with large waves it can be dangerous. Most often, people come to this beach to take beautiful photos. Use the airport's electronic scoreboard to know when the plane arrives. To get the plane directly overhead, the photographer needs to sit down, or better yet lie down on the sand, but sometimes you need to move left or right along the shore. Experiment. We took several such photos and videos. But I especially liked the other angle, when I hand 'stop the plane.'

An absolutely safe place, if you take precautions. The sea is good. A couple of tips:
1. Arrival intervals are variable. To know in advance when and what model the plane will be, use a flightradar.
2. In the dry season, the wind starts blowing from the sea around lunch, and planes are already taking off over the beach, and not landing (which means they will be too high). As soon as you see on the radar that the planes have gone to land from the land side, you can go home.
3. As long as the wind blows towards the sea, the planes will take off in the opposite direction to the sea. Large aircraft like the B777 at the same time cause significant wind, which raises sand. The sand does not hurt, but turn away so as not to get into your eyes. It is better for small children to sit on the ground.
4. Toilets and changing rooms are bad. If you walk along the coast to the right for a long time, you will see a fruit stall near the highway and a very poor quality toilet next to it, but it is free.

The beach is almost untouched: yellow sand, green palm trees. I really liked it. There aren't many people. The entrance to the water is steep - a couple of meters and you can't reach the bottom, almost always waves. There is an observation deck nearby, where planes land. They are generally visible from anywhere on the beach.
There is no infrastructure. You can only eat in the hotel restaurant. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the nearest village, where there are many restaurants.

Great beach! This Mai Khao beach is actually sooo long. There are almost no people at all, the sand is fine and pleasant, cleanliness, good hotels nearby, there is a large water park.
The beach is public, like all beaches in Thailand, however, because of the size, people are all dispersed and in fact there are few people, so it is quiet and peaceful. In general, this area is very calm and quiet. There are shady places. There are many cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
The highlight of this beach is that it is the only beach on the island where, towards the end of the beach, right near the airport, you can watch huge international aviation liners landing at a very low altitude, it seems that if you jump up you can touch the landing gear wheel!
For the sake of such feelings and photos, and in general the view, it is worth visiting this beach!
I recommend this beach and the Mai Khao area for a vacation!
