95% of tourists do not go further than the rocks at the entrance to the gorge. In fact, you can walk a path above the gorge and below, right on the water, through the gorge. It takes preparation and a couple of hours of time. The water is cold and mountainous. The bottom (and somewhere the top) of the wetsuit is better, socks
