This Memorial is a monument to the People's Militia of Gomel, which fought against the Nazis in August of the 41st and covered the withdrawal of the main forces of the Red Army. They fulfilled their duty with honor. A memorial plaque with the names of the dead soldiers and officers is also attached there.
