I had a quick birth - from admission to the hospital to delivery 1 hour)) therefore, I cannot assess the maternity ward. Everything went well. I would like to note the work of the midwife and support staff - the attitude is very caring.
A separate review about the postpartum department, from where the baby and I escaped after 2 days. My husband and I paid for the ward so that no one would be hooked - 20 thousand drams per day. The state of the ward is not worth the money. It's cramped (I don't know how two mothers with children can exist there), a small rattling refrigerator, not all sockets work, the shower is uncomfortable. But the most terrible thing is the staff.
I was constantly told that I was doing everything wrong:
1. The child is naked (in one slip), without a blanket and hat. And this is in a room where it's +24 and I'm hot in my nightgown.
2. You can not feed lying down - I will fall asleep and crush the child (this was told to me when my husband was in the ward). Do I know that the postpartum period is not a disease and it is not necessary to lie down all the time. It was said by a male doctor. I wonder how many children he had and how he felt right after..
3. You can't turn off the lights at night. An open toilet door with a light is not suitable - there is not enough light to see the child's breathing. When I complained that I couldn't sleep when the lantern was shining in my eyes, I was told that I shouldn't sleep either.
These are the most memorable statements. And so constantly, in small things, every time someone dug in. I was already afraid when someone came to see me. Up to "why is the refrigerator turned off from the outlet?" 🤦 it's simple.
I would like to positively mention the nurses on duty - they were friendly and even knocked before coming in. Also a pediatrician, a lovely woman, I don't remember the name.
In general, I barely lasted 2 days until the baby was given all the necessary examinations and vaccinations and immediately ran home to sleep.
One of the advantages is that the doctor allowed me to give birth naturally, having a history of the first birth of CS, although this is practically impossible in Armenia. I think I'm lucky that everything went well.
But I can hardly recommend a maternity hospital because of the postpartum department. It's a lot of stress.
