In the center of the cemetery there are two main mausoleums (turbe) - Sultan Suleiman and Hurrem Sultan. This is a part of the very rich and distinctive history of Istanbul, which is definitely worth touching. I recommend visiting all the sights of Istanbul with a guide. Then you will be able to feel the events of those times, the customs and traditions, the ups and downs of that era. The photo shows a cemetery, with the wall of Sultan Suleiman's mausoleum visible on the left. By the way, the burials of men and women have their own characteristics that tell the stories of the dead.

It's a very atmospheric place. There is an observation deck. Less crowded than the rest of the attractions. It was interesting to visit the mosque and the tombs of Sultan Suleiman and Hurrem. In general, the scale of the building is impressive, I recommend you to visit.

Thanks to Suleiman for the gorgeous mosque! There are a lot of people, the Domashny TV channel and the Magnificent Century series are doing their job :) I liked the information stands next to the mausoleum. In two languages: Turkish and English. All the necessary information is written in simple English. There are cats inside the mausoleum, of course)

Sultan Suleiman's Mausoleum and Khurem are located 20 steps from each other, on the territory of a small cemetery near the walls of the Suleimaniye Mosque, which was built by Miman Sinan for Sultan Suleiman. An atmospheric place, a gorgeous observation deck on the city and the Bosphorus nearby, I highly recommend a visit. Admission is free.

Visiting Suleymaniye is free, there is a small interactive program inside the mosque, and you can read in different languages. Very beautiful! Very beautiful panoramic places.

The situation is the same as with the neighboring Hurrem Sultan tomb: at the entrance there is a crowd of people who want to squeeze inside, they must take off their shoes (a Muslim shrine!), inside there are several sarcophagi covered with cloth, with or without turbans (for "boys") (for "girls"). If you are not a fan of the TV series "Magnificent Century", then it is better to limit yourself to the tour of the Suleymaniye Mosque itself, if you have patiently watched all 150 episodes with a must-be.

It's a great place, and we were especially lucky to get to the moment when the whole of Istanbul was singing. The whole city was illuminated by the call to prayer, and it was very beautiful. Needless to say, the view from there is amazing 😻

A very beautiful view of the city. The emotions are boundless. There are tablets in the mosque, which contain the history of the foundation of the bottom area. And you can choose any language. There are guides who tell the stories of this mosque, but in English.

The Mosque of Suleiman the Great. A place that can be visited for free. At night, it looks like an illustration from a Magnificent Century. It impresses with its grandeur and power during the day.

My acquaintance with the Ottoman Empire began exactly a year ago with an excursion to TOPKAPI, then I didn't know anything about the Sultans and their lives, this time I came prepared and it was a completely different feeling! The scale, the atmosphere, the inner feelings and the greatness of Suleymaniye - it was magical.

It is interesting to visit places of local history. Access is absolutely free. Some people may be shocked by such a number, including children's coffins - a kind of mausoleum. But those were the traditions.

Suleiman I the Magnificent rests here, he was the sultan of the Ottoman Empire (1520-1566). In Europe, he is usually called Suleiman the Magnificent, and in the Muslim world — Suleiman Kanuni. The mausoleum also houses: Sultan Suleiman II, Sultan Ahmed II, Mihrimah Sultan (daughter of Sultan Suleiman), Salih Dilashup Walida Sultan, Asiya Sultan, Rabia Sultan (wife of Ahmed II), Safiye Sultan (daughter of Mustafa II) and Hatice Muazzez Sultan. Admission is free, shoes must be left at the entrance, shawls and skirts are not required. There are rainwater depressions for cats and dogs near the mausoleum.

To touch a piece of the majestic era, to see the resting place of perhaps the greatest Sultan of the Ottoman Empire was a long-standing dream. Emotions are provided for you, it takes your breath away from the atmosphere of this place alone. I recommend it to everyone to visit.

I really liked it. At first, I didn't want to go in because of another faith. But I was treated with respect, the volunteer guy told me a very interesting story about the basic rules for Muslims. There was a feeling of power and awe in the territory, as if time had stopped.
