A city that can be safely called a pearl in terms of the atmosphere and the very condition that you will have when taking a leisurely walk and entering a cafe to enjoy excellent coffee.
A beautiful authentic ancient city with narrow streets, high walls the color of sandy tuff. Without visiting Mdina, the impression of Malta will not be complete. She is mesmerizing.
Let's start with the fact that this is the ancient capital of Malta. It got its name from the Arabic "Medina" - the holy city for all Muslims. The sight is amazing: You will see a real ancient fortress surrounded by towering stone impregnable walls - everything is as it should be for the times when there were raids by enemies. When you get to the territory of the city, you feel its heartbeat. It's like time has stopped. There's no hurry. And you begin to stroll slowly through the ancient narrow streets, examining the stonework, marveling at the architecture, and drawing images of knights who used to walk along these streets. The city appears to us sunny and warm. And I think it's not the weather, but the atmosphere itself. It is good to read about Mdina in advance in order to know where the attraction is, so that you can approach and study it more closely. But at the tourist office (just outside the city gates, inside), you can ask for a tourist's map with the points recommended for viewing.
Of course, do not forget to charge your camera - you will have to take a lot of pictures :)
