1. The hotel is amazing from the very arrival to the very departure! Cleaning every day, they gave as many as 8 towels for three people and changed them flawlessly!
The view from the room will be on the ocean - either on the beach or on the port, the main thing is to live at least 4.5 floors.
2. The ocean and the beach are non-negotiable!!! Magnificent nature (2 minutes walk through a beautiful territory, it is also interesting to read that someone is far away) A beach bar and a snack bar where they feed and shower is available.
3. The service surprised! Everyone is very attentive and good-natured - bring them souvenirs (the simplest medicines: paracetamol, analgin, personal hygiene products: toothpaste, soap and feminine things, and if you treat them with buckwheat, then you can not avoid that they will bow at your feet and kiss your hands, for example, from a donated repellent or a pack of napkins)
4. Flora and fauna are very funny))))
5. Yes, there is not a big problem with locks in the doors, we also encountered, but this problem is solved in 15 seconds at the reception and the hotel is not to blame that there is a very humid climate and indeed riders and maps are demagnetized from this. This problem exists in all hotels without exception.
6. Food: I don't know who writes that I was starving, we all gained 3-4 kg. Meat: turkey, pork, beef and seafood - every lunch and dinner))) and yes, this is not Turkey !!!
7. There was animation in the evening. During the day on the beach and at the pool. You can choose the music yourself - they are happy to play our Russian songs.
8. There is a bus that costs $ 5 to the city - with the right of a single ticket for a day and it runs from 07 to 18:00!!! Varadero is only 24 km away, you can drive along and across 10 times! A taxi from the hotel to the city is 10 dollars and if you do not go alone, you get pennies)))

A good hotel for its price category. It is located at the end of the spit (island) at the port. The food is monotonous, but there is bread, eggs and milk, which does not happen in all hotels in Varadero. Evening animation is great for 10/10, daytime on the beach, something like yoga, gymnastics and the like, but beach animation is not interesting to me. The rooms are in good condition, the air conditioner is blowing perfectly, cleaning is done every day, towels are also changed every day if you leave them on the bathroom floor. 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of beer are added to the refrigerator every day. Every morning I left a dollar and sweets from Russia. Wi-Fi is free, but sometimes crashes. But we are not going there for the Internet)) there is a safe, nothing was lost during the rest period. There is a small bar near the beach. There is also a bar by the pool and in the hotel itself. To the beach across the bridge is a 3-minute walk from the pool. There is a golf cart with 6 seats from the lobby to the beach. Once, for the sake of interest, I took a ride on it. And yes, about the food, if someone does not like the monotonous food in the general buffet, then you can buy something like Level at a price of $ 340 per room for 3 days and the food there is much tastier according to the guys who took advantage of this offer. And if the remoteness from the entire infrastructure of the island (cafes, shops, markets) does not bother, then the hotel fully justifies its cost. Cuba is a paradise! Ocean, nature, but not service, food and entertainment! In general, everything is fine, but the service is lame!fruits except papaya and guava, greens and vegetables are completely paradoxical-they are missing! A wonderful hotel. I'm leaving today on April 17th, 2024. It is located on the very edge of the Varadero spit.
Positive:
A small amount of vegetation on the territory, as a result, mosquitoes are much less than in neighboring jungle hotels. AN AN-2 flies over Varadero in the morning and treats mosquitoes. Take a spray and do not leave the windows open after 17-00.
Gorgeous view from the room on the 5th floor 1579 of the Marina with yachts.
Melia is a chain of Spanish hotels, some of the products are brought from Spain - cheeses and sausages.
In comparison with other hotels, the food is good - chicken, pork, fish, there were mussels and once squid rings. There was always bread and eggs. In the morning there are 3 types of natural yogurt, 2 juices and always very tasty ice cream. Round-the-clock snack bar - burgers and sandwiches. However, before the excursion at 6-00 there is no bread, instead of a burger I had to eat fried cutlets. There is a fish restaurant a la carte, did not go, did not get there.
The bathroom has a bathtub and a separate shower, the pressure is weak. Upon arrival, there was a box with shampoo, gel, soap and 2 packages of paper napkins.
Billiards and bowling are available on site.

2 bottles of water and 2 cans of beer are being renewed in the room, bottled water can be taken from the lobby bar.

The location of the hotel is near the marina, and the restaurant's veranda overlooks this pier, so you can sip a cigar and drink coffee, getting aesthetic pleasure from the seascape. And, by the way, there is an office with sea excursions on the pier, the same ones that the tour guide from the tour operator will offer you, only without unnecessary cheating. It takes 3 minutes to walk to the beach, or take a ride on the hotel electric car. Since the hotel is located at the end of the Varader spit, the marina and the beach are separated from each other by this spit, and do not interfere with each other.
What can be improved: the range of food for 4, rum was not spared in the bar, but the cocktails are the simplest, and there was no place on site for a quick snack during the day. The animation is weak, but that's not why they're going to Cuba.

The food is mediocre, there is something to eat. There is a pier nearby, so water excursions are within walking distance. The hotel is located at the end of the coastline, you need to go to the center, you will not be able to walk. There are bars on site, and there is also a bar with drinks on the beach. We rested in Cuba for the second time with the whole family from 04/06/2024 to 04/17/2024. We gave 460 thousand rubles for the entire trip. The choice fell from what was on our budget. The first time was in 2012, then everything was super standard for comparison, now it's heaven and earth. The very first minus, the food in the hotel is well, there is absolutely nothing to eat, they do not know how to cook, they even managed to spoil spaghetti, there were few fruits but constantly. There was no coffee at breakfast, they were sent to the bar. The hotel is not old, but it needs renovation everywhere. The wifi is constantly down, there was no hot water twice. The towels in the room are not the first freshness, even with the smell of dampness, I had to ask the cleaner to change them for a tip. Pros: the hotels have an embankment for the yacht pier, there is a place to walk to kill time, there are also five or six separate restaurants and shops, I think that's why they were poorly fed so that vacationers spent more money on separate meals. The territory is not small, the beach is not bad, the sun beds were always free, but this is due to the fact that the hotel was not more than 20% loaded. The nature is beautiful even outside the hotel. The bars on the beach and in the hotels are not bad. Prices in Cuba have increased significantly, excursions are very expensive to go to the nearest city of Varadero by bus for $ 5 per person, even for a small child. It is not entirely profitable to take rum from there, for comparison, 12 years ago, legendarium rum costs $ 6 in the city, now it is $ 40-45 and it is in short supply, you can buy it cheaper in Moscow. I do not recommend it . Not on the first line , so to speak , it 's decent to go to the beach . The food is tasteless - starting from fruits (which are generally all green), ending with sausage and cheese. There is really nothing to eat . I'm not talking about seafood at all. They either don 't know how to cook , or they just don 't care . There are no normal juices, some kind of water diluted with something .
The doors to the room are constantly breaking , the master was called 2 times during the week of rest , they could not get into the room . Other vacationers have the same thing.
The bedclothes stank endlessly of damp .
The maids don 't clean at all . You won't get any toiletries.
In general, you can have a good rest here if you constantly drink alcohol )

I stayed at this hotel in August 2023.
There is only one plus - it is a delightfully clean and warm ocean, but this has nothing to do with the hotel.
The rest is just cons: the beach is dirty, there are a lot of broken sunbeds and those are not enough.
The room is not bad, everything worked, but the cleaning was bad, the linen and towels were not the first freshness. The maids persistently beg for tips
There is a poor choice of nutrition, very few vegetables, just few fruits, bad coffee, no tea. The staff at the restaurant is lazy, they ask for tips.
The lobby bar does not spare only cheap rum, the selection of cocktails is poor and those are tasteless, there are no tubes, the only coffee machine in the entire hotel. The bar staff begs for tips, they do everything badly without them.
There is an annimation in the hotel, but it is designed only for local vacationers, of whom there are many.
There were many tourists from Russia at the hotel, but none of the staff knows Russian, it is difficult to solve any problem. Until you show the money, they don't understand anything and don't want to do anything.
There is a strong opinion that Cuba is a country of beggars. I strongly advise against the hotel, it does not correspond to five stars, maximum 3 stars.

One of the most beautiful hotels in Varadero. The view from the room is just a song! Clean territory. They feed the same everywhere, I won't talk about it here, read more about Cuba on the Internet :) But I definitely recommend the hotel. The beach is clean and has a soft white sand.

We rested here in August 2023. The stated 5 stars are not true. There was no toilet paper in the room until they asked for it.
The food is monotonous, it gets boring very quickly. Fruits are not ripe, sour. There was even a fly in the coffee once(!). Very often, during lunch, the musicians played very loudly, which even interfered with eating, and at the exit they constantly begged for money for what they were playing.
There is no variety in the bar except rum and cola, mahito is a luxury and a one-off promotion, and they could not make other cocktails because of the availability of ingredients.
There are cafes and restaurants, shops on site. Their prices are expensive compared to if you ate at a cafe in the city. If you want comfort and service, then this place is definitely not for you. Cuba is "a la scoop" in a local way. If you really want exotic and extreme, then you can go for one trip.
The only thing that pulled the situation out was a gorgeous ocean and a clean white beach!

If something edible is dropped or spilled in the hallway, it can lie there for a week.
The loud animation starts at 21:40 and lasts until midnight. If you wanted to go to bed earlier, it won't work.
At the reception, in general, everyone is adequate and always tries to help, but there is one sooooo stupid girl (or pretending to be) who does not understand anything that you want from her. They asked in English if there were scales in the luggage room, they wanted to weigh the suitcase before returning. She said yes, of course, come and weigh it. As a result, there were no scales. She was also asked if we could come for an early breakfast, since we leave very early for an excursion - she sent us to negotiate with the kitchen on our own, they say, there is no such service. Although the guide said that everything is there.
Summary: a good hotel, but there is not much to do with children there, if we had flown with a child, there would have been much more complaints about the hotel. And so solid 4! It's quite decent for adults. And the beach is simply heavenly.

The hotel is on solid 4. But it's a long way to the beach.
The bed folded beautifully, but did not change.
The beach towels ran out for about 6-7 days. There was a program on TV in Russian, but the news was a few days late.
The food in the restaurant was adjusted after a few days, but the day before February 14 and until about February 18, due to the arrival of the locals at the hotel, there was a collapse. There were not enough dishes and the queue at the restaurant stretched for 3 hours.
The food itself was not bad, but hot oil or used oil was served instead of coffee. For a fee, and sometimes without, the waiters could bring normal coffee from the lobby bar.
After the departure of the Cuban tourists, delicious seafood began to appear periodically in the restaurant, but sometimes not fresh (squid).
Toothpicks are scarce. Tomatoes are either green or rotten (in my opinion). I have not seen any milk (only in powder, coconut or soy).
There were fruits. On day 6, the assortment of tea ended, mint and mostly green with spices remained.
The animation is primitive. But some people probably liked it. It was impossible to hide from the loud music and on the 6th day it seemed even louder.
There was a cultural program.
The beach is without toilets and changing rooms.
There is no crime, there are guards every 30 meters.
There are no tubes in the beach bar and glasses disappeared 2-3 hours before the end of work.(we cut the bottles)
The ecology and nature are wonderful.
I liked the rest. The flight is difficult.
Excursions are very expensive.
There is an Internet connection, but there is none. $5 one hour, €99 10 gig and it's only in the lobby and not stable.
For goods, prices for both the wealthy and the rich are shocking in a poor country.

The hotel is located next to the mooring walls of the yacht club. The hotel itself is in a pretty battered condition. The room stock is pretty shabby. The food leaves much to be desired! The sanitation is complete. They wash the dishes very badly! Eating disorders are very common among tourists. It is not recommended for holidays with children. Do not forget that the Internet in Cuba is under government control, so we recall the Internet from the 90s, it is actually very annoying.
Personally, my opinion is that Cuba is not worth attention as a place to relax. If you choose a place to relax in the Caribbean, then Cancun is better! If finances allow, then definitely Bermuda or Miami👍
