The memorial was designed by the Belarusian architect Leonid Levin, the author of the Khatyn complex. It is dedicated to all the children who suffered during the Second World War. According to the author's idea, the whole complex is a sun with rays radiating in different directions. There is an apple orchard around as a symbol of life. And the whole memorial is a collection of symbols. To the point of trembling. To tears. You can't forget that!
Krasny Bereg was not a donor children's camp. It was a collection point, where in June 1944, for several weeks, children from 8 to 14 years old from all over the district were taken. They were washed, examined, and blood was taken only for analysis to determine the group. And then they were sent on. Some of the children were taken as donors to hospitals, and some to work in Germany.
It is better to visit this place with a guide, and not just walk around and see. To know.
The complex itself is not big. If you visit, take flowers for laying. Construction works are underway nearby.
There are toilets.
The monument is a memorial dedicated to the children of war.
Why children? Because it was here, in the Red Coast, that the largest donor concentration camp was located during the war. Children were taken away from their parents and brought here as donors for German soldiers..
The memorial is worth visiting for everyone. In general, every detail of the memorial is carefully thought out: a fragile girl, an empty classroom, a ship of hope, a letter from 1943 from a girl from the camp, paintings...The history of this place will not leave anyone indifferent.
We came with students from St. Petersburg to Krasny Bereg. The wonderful guide Alexey Ivanovich Mazok immersed us in the atmosphere of those tragic days. He told us a lot of interesting facts. Thank you very much and bow low!
My soul is torn by what the Germans did, what our Belarusian children went through. We were at the complex yesterday, BUT I was outraged by the behavior of the male guide, unfortunately, I did not remember his name. Without a soul, there was affectation, but what was he talking about. I advise the management to listen to his story and draw certain conclusions about the professionalism of this guide.

Be sure to visit.
At the very beginning of the war, the Germans
occupied the large Belarusian
village of Krasny Bereg. Almost
immediately, a military hospital and a children's concentration camp were equipped.
then the Nazis found, as it seemed to them, the ideal way out of the situation. They decided to take blood from...children's. The children of those very Slavs, whom they themselves considered an inferior
race.
Children taken from their parents from all over the area were taken to a children's concentration camp. Not everyone was taken,
but only under the age of 14.
Upon admission to the camp, the children
were examined for
diseases and divided into two
groups. Children with the first blood type were selected first. They
took all their blood at once. The second
group was intended for
multiple blood collection. Some
more children were sent to other hospitals, including Germany, as living reservoirs with
donated blood.
A terrifying
inhuman and sadistic way of extracting blood has been developed. The child was injected with an anticoagulant and hung by the armpits, while strongly squeezing the chest for a better and more complete outflow of blood. A deep incision was made on the feet, either
the skin was deeply cut off, or the feet were completely
amputated. The blood flowed into
special containers and was then
transfused to wounded German
soldiers and officers. More than 15 such children's concentration camps have been found on the territory of Belarus
The terrible word "WAR", so that it does not happen again, everyone must come here, bow and honor the memory of the angels who died at the hands of the Nazis...
The realization that a person's actions can be so terrible makes you rethink a lot of things. It is very difficult to restrain your emotions in this place.
