A unique opportunity to spend the night in a Castle with a 500-year history, which
we took advantage of in early September 2024. The place is very
atmospheric, especially good in the evening, when all the tour groups
have left and it seems that the castle is at your disposal, the castle lighting
gorgeous. The rooms are a little tired, but it even gives them a certain
charm. The only thing that is necessary is the presence of a fumigator, because of the
proximity of the mosquito water in excess. Tea and coffee can be bought at the reception,
but tea can also be drunk in the room by asking the receptionist for a kettle,
unfortunately, there are no dishes in the rooms, an iron can also be provided to you.
There is a cooler on the floors. There is Wi-Fi in the rooms. The staff is very nice. In
general, we were satisfied with our stay.
Muscovites. We were in the middle of June. The impression is twofold. Everything is beautiful, but... It is difficult to feel the atmosphere of antiquity, the impression of something decorative... But a lot of work has been invested! Well done, thank you! From the nuances. The parking lot for hotel guests is very inconveniently located. Who has things a little far away... However, at the reception they help to bring things to the room (ours was on the 5th floor, 502). It's nice inside, an electronic home system. The stairs are pretty steep. The elevator is open from 9.00 to 21.00. One passes through the museum. Apparently, that's why they turn it off, although it would be possible to install a door in the museum (on the 2nd floor). It is quite difficult for elderly people to walk to the 5th floor... The restaurant is pretentious and expensive, but I didn't really like the food. In an ordinary cafe opposite the castle it is much tastier and cheaper! The problem for smokers is that you can only smoke outside the castle walls. But this is our problem. Although...The territory is very beautiful and well-groomed, there is a place to walk and with pleasure. The receptionists and all the staff are very helpful and ready to help. Thank you so much for finding our bag of documents!!! It's very beautiful in the evening, the backlight. BOTTOM LINE: everything was interesting, we didn't regret coming. Thank you all!
The historically preserved part is small, there are many places where you can kill yourself in kind, the guides are not big on this... In general, it's interesting, the souvenirs are average, the entertainment groups (the Scottish infantry, in my case, are pretty good). It's a bit expensive to eat, but you can look for 5 establishments in the district, for the very economical, a Penny and a Euroopt are nearby. The hotel in the castle is clean, tidy, but expensive and clueless - the plumbing was originally planned to be premium, but is now in decline.
A cool place, definitely worth a visit. Lay down 4-5 hours to visit everything slowly. An interesting museum, towers, but be prepared to climb steep and narrow stairs, and then go down them, in places steps of 50-60 cm, there are handrails, but they do not help everywhere (especially on towers). An amazing animation program, repeated every hour on weekends. Parking is free. There is a snack cafe nearby. beautiful views for photos.
Good day!
A great place with a history
It is very interesting and informative
There is a great hotel 🏨
In summer, it's better to come for a couple of days and take a slow look at everything!
There are steep vertical stairs in the towers,
Children really like to climb to the top!
It is a very atmospheric, beautiful and peaceful place. Perfectly preserved. We have been there several times and we will come again. It is effectively illuminated in the evening. We spent the night in a hotel on the castle grounds.
A great place, very polite receptionist, but unfortunately there is no accommodation with a pet. Although there are no rooms available
anyway. P.S. I will change my assessment, as it is a very beautiful and atmospheric hotel. 1 star, with the hope that they will see the comment and some alternative may appear)
Belarus.
Mir Castle, we were by car, came from Moscow and after Minsk our next stop was the castle. The distance from Minsk to the castle is about 90 km.
First, a little history:
Mir Castle is a defensive fortification and residence in the urban settlement of Mir Korelichsky district of the Grodno region of Belarus.
Built at the beginning of the XVI century by magnate Ilyinich, the castle became the first privately owned castle on the lands of Belarus.
Since 1568, the Radziwills owned the castle (until 1828), then the Wittgensteins (until 1891). The last owners of the castle were the princes Svyatopolk-Mirsky (until 1939), after which, with the advent of Soviet power, it became state property.
The castle is the easternmost Gothic structure, as well as the largest and only non-religious object of the few surviving examples of original Belarusian Gothic.
Since 2000, Mir Castle has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The castle is really magnificent , and from the parking lot near the castle it is free, equipped, the castle can be seen already at the entrance . From the parking lot you go across the lake and there is a cafe right on the bridge, water flows and murmurs under it, and a cup of coffee and a pleasant conversation with a view of the castle, fabulous.
Go into the castle and explore its main halls, and then - if your physique and athletic training allow you, then you will climb narrow and incredibly steep stairs to the towers - there are two and both of them, with incredibly steep stairs. Of course, the reviews of the surrounding area are magnificent. But do not forget, and be sure to visit the tomb, it is behind the castle - it is very beautiful and of course, be sure to take an audio guide - you will know everything and be interested.
I made a lot of bright discoveries for myself inside the castle. I did not know that Belarus is so Catholic, and there are so many things.
There is a cafe and a restaurant inside the castle and it is very decent if you want to eat and chat.
I wish you to explore the world with your own eyes .
And please put it on for me 👍
A luxurious castle, on the way from Minsk towards the city of Brest. An unforgettable place and impressions for many years! A good place to spend a weekend with your family or company. There are many exhibits and furniture of ancient art! The Mir Castle is rich in history. If you visit it once, you will want to return there again and again! The armor, architectural exhibits, have been preserved to this day and pleases visitors with its sophistication! Souvenir shops and a mini-hotel for visiting guests in the same castle! I really, really advise you to visit!
Friendly staff, payment by MIR card, booked in advance via messengers, were always in touch.
The room is clean, there is everything you need.. I really liked it, we will definitely come back.
I absolutely do not understand the negative reviews about the castle. Emperors, kings and princes were received here, now there is a unique opportunity to live in the current UNESCO facility, and people petty complain about the cobblestones in the courtyard and the lack of an elevator to the 5th floor :)
In the castle, you must visit all 5 towers (the fifth tower with a bar is accessible only from the hotel), open all unlocked doors (you can get to the inner balcony at night) and walk to the end of each dark corridor. Open the window completely, sit on the windowsill and surprise tourists outside the walls. Think about the past and eternal, looking at the lighting in the courtyard.
The feeling of uniqueness and grandeur is such a Mundane castle.
The last time was 10 years ago. Everything has changed a lot. It became more convenient, there was a catering service. The castle is beautiful and authentic.
A great time, thank you.
An amazing hotel!! That's right!! We took a duplex suite! I am absolutely delighted! It really feels like you're living in a real castle! I read in the review that you can get lost...the staff explained everything in an accessible way, where and how to get through! How to use electronic devices in the room. The room is fully equipped, but there was not enough kettle - if there is a seating area, it is simply necessary! There is a large refrigerator in the room, two bottles of welcome water on the table! Two bathrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor, all toiletries like a toothbrush, razor, soap and shampoos are available! By the way, and slippers ! In general, everything that you are used to seeing in the suites is there! The stairs to the second floor are wide and very easy to climb! There are old portraits hanging, one picture was really creepy, but we were in the castle and we wanted to scare ourselves! The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the pillows are good! And also, I would like to note the work of the staff, starting from the receptionists and ending with the girls on the floor - well done! Great team! Everyone is friendly and ready to help in any matter! We will definitely come back again!!
Great hotel! Very polite people are working! Beautiful! With a deep note of antiquity! There are many dark corners! It's a little creepy in the suite at night!!) I'm coming back and coming back
For immersion in the atmosphere - the very thing.
I had a 304 room, a two-room with stylized furniture, a Jacuzzi and a fancy lighting system and a gorgeous view from the window and a French balcony. It's nice to go out on him in a bathrobe with a cup of coffee. From the window there is a view of the courtyard and the towers of the castle. The eye rejoices. In the evening, the castle lights turn on for an hour, you can walk around and enjoy the atmosphere without tourists.
There is an elevator. Or a walk up the stairs, but it's not very comfortable with luggage. Pleasant hotel staff or in Belarusian - gascinitsa.
A comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, sockets available, slippers and a bathrobe. Cozy bathroom with stylized plumbing at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century.
Breakfast in the restaurant in the cellars of the castle with an authentic atmosphere. The breakfast itself is quite modest: omelette, pancakes with cottage cheese, coffee or tea, but you will not die of hunger.
The price - quality is quite acceptable.
I enjoyed it.
We took a duplex suite for 2 nights. A family of 3 people. The room is cool. There are two bathrooms, but one bathroom is on the second floor. The system in the room is of the "smart house" type. Be sure to try the curtains button! At first, it took a while to figure out the lighting system. You can turn on the floor heating. The windows looked out onto the courtyard, directly onto the central tower. Very beautiful. The bed is comfortable, the pillows are normal. The child was provided with a euro cot. There are no complaints. Bathrobes, slippers, a dental kit, gel, shampoo, soap - everything is available in the room. There is no kettle, but there is a cooler on each floor. We had breakfast in the castle restaurant. Oatmeal porridge with milk, cheesecakes, pancakes, omelette, fried eggs (from 9 to 12 o'clock you will not be offered other menus). The cost is not the smallest, but of the food options there is also a cafe "Mirum" opposite the castle. We had lunch there once, everything was delicious and cheaper than in the castle restaurant. You can buy various tinctures in this cafe. We took the quest "White Elephant". It's very cool, the time is 1-1.5 hours. I recommend it, it is interesting for both adults and children (schoolchildren). And of course, a guided tour of the castle is needed.
4 - exclusively for the atmosphere and the opportunity to live in a real castle.
There are many questions about the content of the rooms.
There is no kettle in the room, but there is a huge refrigerator that does not fit into the interior at all.
There is a Jacuzzi, but it does not work.
The room has old appliances, but there is a system like a smart home that works every other time. In the bathroom, for some reason, there is a telephone socket with a twisted phone.
At the same time, it is clean, all the necessary details are in place, the atmosphere is pleasant, the balcony offers a gorgeous view. The staff is polite and attentive.
As a result, the impressions and emotions of living in such a place completely cover any everyday issues. It is definitely recommended to visit.
There is a hotel on the territory of the castle. If possible, be sure to spend the night in the castle. But keep in mind that you need to book rooms in advance (all detailed information is available on the official website of the Mir Castle). We booked 2 nights in the hotel in advance and did not regret it at all. Very comfortable and atmospheric room. They felt like a kind of princes or counts. Special thanks to the hotel staff - very polite and pleasant.
A wonderful view of the castle opens across the lake. There is also a parking lot for cars. It's a bit far, but it's all justified - closer could spoil the look of the castle. We were greeted very warmly and found ourselves in an unusual hotel - we were mentally transported back many years....Clean, cozy. We had lunch in a cafe opposite the castle: excellent cuisine and, at the same time, admiring the castle itself. And then there was a walk in the beautiful park around the castle and a tour of the castle... Great!
We lived in a hotel in the castle. The rooms, the staff, everything is great. A smart home in the room. There are no breakfasts. There is a refrigerator in the room. You can eat in several places in the village, but it is better to eat in another locality, and just have a snack at the hotel with the products you took. There is no kettle in the room.
Excellent castle and museum. Conveys the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. It is practically an attraction for adults and children. There are steep narrow spiral stairs, it can be difficult for the elderly
Mir Castle is elegant, elegant and cozy. It is pleasant to come to him at any time of the year, as to an old friend who is always waiting and glad to meet
A wonderful fairy-tale castle. I recommend you to visit. There is a stunning park around the castle. We rented bicycles at the hotel and rode around the park, admired the castle.
16th century castle
Completed to the hotel level
Museum
Restaurant
Hotel
Park
Both for lovers of the Middle Ages and for those who are just interested
Thanks for the night at the castle!
The beauty is indescribable! Maximum authenticity. Some passages-manholes between floors are worth visiting here))). The walls are full of history. I highly recommend this place
A great place to relax with the whole family! A great hotel and restaurant with a great atmosphere and excellent cuisine!!! I recommend spending the night, having dinner, going on an excursion and buying souvenirs in the parking lot in tents - beautiful pottery 👍
Cozy castle hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable. But still, the modern design of the rooms is a little out of harmony with the European castle, it would be better to add some originality to the design. At least a ghost ;-)
Truly a knight's castle with luxurious apartments and decent service. Polite staff. Affordable prices. An unforgettable vacation and a lot of impressions.
I highly recommend it for family holidays and excursions to the best Belarusian attractions.
We rented a vanilla room, two floors with a balcony and a view of the lake. It is very unusual to realize that we are in a medieval castle!!! Of course, there are disadvantages, small ones will not be listed. It is worth allowing yourself to rent such a room and spend the evening on the balcony with your loved one, these emotions persist for life!!! We also ordered a family quest, we liked it, but I think it could have been more fun. We went to eat in a cafe near the Mir Castle called "Mirum". The national cuisine is delicious, we liked it!!!! I recommend it to everyone!!!!
A living place. The history of several centuries in one place. It is a very colorful and beautiful place. History, tragedy, life and the spirit of the epoch and generations are felt everywhere. A night at the castle hotel is filled with a sense of mysticism. We were lucky, the night we stayed here, a historical film was being shot in the castle. Knights, monks, horses, kings, gallows, torches - all this created an atmosphere of complete immersion in the history of this castle. The area around is a separate topic. Crows screaming in the trees, a lake, ducks, a castle reflected on the water - it seems that one more moment and you will find yourself in the XV century and you will hear the clatter of hooves, the noise of chariots, you will see the peasants and inhabitants of the castle. Definitely, I recommend it... And stay overnight at a hotel. It's worth it.
A cool, atmospheric place. We spent the night at the castle, had dinner at the restaurant. We went on an excursion in the morning. Guests get a 50% discount on tickets, buy at the reception. There will be an opportunity, we will definitely come again!
Super! I really liked it, the rooms are good, there is a Jacuzzi! The prices for spending the night in the castle are moderate. Very atmospheric! It is beautifully illuminated in the evening. The staff is polite, in the photo of the windows of the hotel rooms
I've always dreamed of living in a castle. Before that, I was in hotels in new buildings, and here is a real castle and a museum and a hotel! The reservation was made through the website. The prices are good, it is more expensive in the center of Minsk. The rooms are cozy and spacious. The reception staff is very friendly, they are escorted to the room, everything is shown, you can always apply. I rested from the road and went to the castle museum, and then to the restaurant in the basement) I recommend. Especially if you travel by car. At the meeting. You can go to Nesvizh 39 km away for the whole day, and then return to the castle to rest.
A wonderful landmark of our country. On Fridays, you can listen to live music. There is a hotel where you can stay. Beautiful nature. You can see many historical exhibits.
We rented a hotel room right in the castle - I heartily recommend a 500 room with a spiral staircase. Each room is equipped with the latest technology: climate control, TVs in the living room and bedroom, wi-fi, elevator directly in the castle. Maybe the shower and toilet should be updated a little, but for 1 night there will definitely be enough impressions. When buying a room, a discount is given on a ticket to visit the exposition.
At night, around 22, the illumination of the castle walls turns on, I advise you to definitely see it and find a ram's head in the night.
My wife and I spent the night at the castle for the first time, which we visited during the day on an excursion. It's an unforgettable experience. One of the best events when visiting the Republic of Belarus.
Thanks to the friendly staff!
I was very surprised by both the hotel and the service. A very nice woman at the reception, and in general all the people who work there. After the peace, we were in Belovezhskaya Pushcha and this is even more evident in contrast. I definitely recommend you to visit and I will come back more than once
To my shame, we arrived for the first time and absolutely by accident and very in vain! I really liked it! The castle is very beautiful both outside and inside! We went without a tour, although it would not hurt to at least read something before, it would be more interesting. I really liked the surrounding nature, the park, the pond, it's very beautiful! We've got it! From the fact that it is not very. We did not pay attention to the opening hours and when buying tickets we were not warned that we were running out of time. And because of this, the caretakers kept pushing us. Also, because of this, they did not have time to go to church. By the way, on weekends the main exhibition is open until 18:00. Personal opinion, you can take a little longer or at least warn people, you will not always guess to look at the work schedule. Well, we also found an expensive cafe near the park. It will be very expensive to sit with a family. There are some tents and cafes on the other side of the castle, but we didn't go to look anymore, we were tired. Perhaps there is a choice there. Prices for souvenirs are affordable, even low. There is a large selection in the souvenir shop in the castle. In general, be sure to come for the whole day to calmly watch, take a walk, have a snack, take pictures!
A great place. The rooms are small, but clean and decent. We were at the end of November, even in bad weather, everything was fine! The tour to the castle is very interesting. You can pay for services with a MIR card.
Very beautiful. I recommend it for viewing. An excursion inside the castle, and then walk around the castle on your own. Be sure to climb the Towers, climb the spiral stairs.
We got a two-storey room. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with a sofa table and a kitchen with a refrigerator (although without a stove, microwave and dishes). There is also a toilet with a shower on the ground floor. You get to the second floor by a narrow spiral staircase and there is a bedroom. Both the bedroom and the living room are equipped with air conditioning. We lived on the fifth floor, the elevator goes up to the fourth, but we hardly used the elevator. The staff is courteous. We didn't have any food. But staying at the hotel gives a 50% discount on visiting the museum.
The rooms are cozy. The staff of the hotel and the museum are very kind and helpful, attentive to the guests. The evening illumination of the castle is wonderful. On-site parking is available for hotel guests
It was a little chilly in winter, but everything was brightened up by the castle, which has chic rooms, although a little old-fashioned, a chic restaurant.
