Latrun Monastery "molchalnikov"
is famous for excellent wines made from grapes, the vine of which was brought to these places during the campaign of Napoleon.
Latrun is a geographical area in Israel, 15 km away. west of Jerusalem.
On the hills is the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, founded in 1890 by the monastic order of the Trappist silent.At the beginning of the 19th century, together with Napoleon's army, a vine was brought to the Holy Land. It was planted on the territory of the Latrun monastery, and to this day the same vine gives wine.
In the 1970s, the settlement of Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam was founded on leased lands belonging to the monastery, where Jews and Arabs live together and which was founded to show that two peoples can peacefully get along together.
Latrun is also home to the Tank Forces Museum, as well as the Mini Israel Museum, where all the main attractions of the state are presented in miniature. You have to see it with your own eyes and admire it!
