Memory of the Belarusian Susanin. Iosif Filidovich was a liaison in the partisan brigade. In 1942, after several combat operations, the brigade turned out to have many wounded who did not know how to hide and treat. I. Filidovich was the only one who knew the path through the swamps to the island. There they organized a partisan hospital, and a considerable number of partisans got on their feet there. In December 1942, someone gave a contact to the Germans. On pain of the death of his family, Joseph agreed to take the Germans to the partisan hospital, and he led about 300 fascists into the swamp, so much so that none came out. In the spring of the following year, the partisans found the body of Joseph Filidovich with a bullet in his head. And his grandson took the wounded to the hospital after his grandfather.
