I will give 5 stars to this location just for the honor of Soviet people. But the staff in the museum was very unfriendly. I was there with my little son and the way they treated us was rude. Constantly following our steps. The staff is 1 star !
Place that all schools from Europe , need to visit. To know what’s happened in period 2 world war. For me was so dramatic, heir of my head go up. Amazing museum , big big recommendation to visit.
An amazing museum!
Everyone who visits Minsk should visit this place.
The museum is deeply impressive both for its grandiose architectural embodiment and for its exposition.
An important recommendation is to visit the museum with a tour group (there is a schedule). The guide's story will leave deep impressions. A full-scale picture of what the Belarusian and Russian people had to go through during the war will open up before you. Everyone should definitely know this.
The territory of the museum passes Victory Park, a good place for a walk. There are memorial fountains in the park, and an excursion boat runs along the river.
Pride in our country❤️Very impressive and large-scale. A worthy memory of the feat of the Soviet people, the Soviet soldier and the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Every hall, every installation evokes the most tremulous emotions. Everything has been thought out to the smallest detail. A storm of emotions is caused by a hall dedicated to the horrific inhumanity, the victims of concentration camps. And as the brightest chord of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, this is the Victory Hall!
How finely and precisely the information and design are chosen. The incredible Light and cleanliness, the transparent dome with the waving flag of the Soviet Union of Socialist Republics, the Victory flag touches to the very heart and fills
The museum itself is simply wonderful, the expositions and halls are informative, interesting and impressive. but! There was a feeling that we were not welcome…We came with my husband and child at about 15:30-16, bought tickets and clarified whether it was possible to take an individual tour, we were sent to the administrator, they clarified it again and she said with a grin, "Yeah, you're generally late, you need to come to the museums earlier, the time is already at 4..." would you agree that this statement is superfluous? Well, the guides left for the routes and left, it's okay, we'll look for ourselves, additional comments to our address are unnecessary. Then two hours later we enter the last halls 10 and 11, which are located on the 1st floor, there are a lot of interactive expositions: screens with photos, sound devices, just sound near objects, lights, etc. I'm standing and looking at the photos on the screen, flipping through them, tears come, I'm just very immersed in it and then I see that the lights are starting to turn off at the other end of the hall, and my husband and son were there, I step away from the screen to see what happened, why there is no light, a woman comes, turns off the screen mine turns off all sounds, turns off the lights in other parts of the hall, I leave it to see where my husband and son are, the time for a minute was 17:50... I just leave, they immediately lock the door. It turns out that they are starting to prepare for closure, although the museum itself is open until 19 ... why they began to do this so early is not clear, and even if these halls close earlier (my guess is, otherwise it is not clear why they close the halls before closing), then the same administrator instead of poking us with the fact that we supposedly they came late, she could have suggested that there are halls in museums that close earlier, because she sits there to help people, prompt and answer questions…
But I recommend visiting everything exactly to everyone, this is our history, the terrible history of the entire USSR and many other countries, unfortunately there are very, very few such museum expositions…
The museum is very modern, well equipped technically, the narrative is well read, full immersion in all the hardships of wartime.
I highly recommend combined excursions, I was lucky to get on such a tour guide Victoria, knows the material perfectly, the story comes to life in her words. In an hour and a half, I felt the huge emotional effect of the museum objects combined with the tour - it seemed to me that every listener could barely hold back tears, especially in the halls about the occupation regime.
On the downside, I didn't really understand why there are no discounts for visiting graduate students. But in general, of course, a regular ticket is not expensive at all. I definitely recommend you to visit.
We haven't been to the museum inside, we liked it outside. Such a waterfall fountain is cool, especially when it was hot outside, it was nice to be nearby. The sculptures are beautiful, everything is clean. Unfortunately, we got there only in the evening and everything was already closed. The fountains have also already been turned off in the park near the museum, it's sad, of course, I really wanted to see it, but we still enjoyed walking in the park!
The museum is one of my favorites. Large, spacious, good expositions. The child always enjoys visiting and always finds something new. Special thanks to the staff, competent and sincere people. I would like to make a small request, highlight information on photo and video shooting at the entrance and at the checkout in order to avoid misunderstandings. Otherwise, everything is fine.
The museum is beautiful, modern and made of high quality. A large collection of exhibits. I have heard the opinion that this is the best museum dedicated to the Second World War. Perhaps this is not far from the truth. The only thing that disappointed me was the tour: the guide was constantly confused, lost her way, and also told almost only well-known facts. But the information about the history of the partisan movement in Belarus turned out to be new to me.
One of the most amazing museums dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, which I have visited. Everyone is required to visit - both citizens and tourists from faraway lands. This is our history - the history of the common Fatherland. The feat of a Soviet soldier should never be forgotten. Thank you to everyone who built this museum, collected material. A huge amount of large-scale equipment, including captured ones. Book a few hours to explore the museum and be sure to take a tour!
I recommend everyone to visit this wonderful museum in the Minsk sightseeing program. I haven't felt such delight from museums for a long time!
Each floor is a separate WWII theme. Absolutely amazing installations! Everything is done competently, and most importantly, it feels like with a big soul and love.
I even cried in some halls, I was so impressed by the story about the horror of the war and the atrocities of fascism.
I definitely recommend you to visit! This is a very cool museum and a stunningly beautiful park with it!
Our family liked the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War very much. (therefore, I will not take off the stars) But ...
we were unlucky with the guide (Timofey). I tried to take the tour theatrically, but it turned out to be sad. He spoke at some moments quickly and haltingly, hence half of the words could not be made out. Despite the fact that there are 20 people in the group. Already at the second exposition I wanted to leave, but decided to go to the end, because the museum is really interesting and big. Of course, it will be difficult for children, but there are staged scenes that distract. The last floor is the brightest, this is our memory.
Do not forget to visit the expositions about the war in Afghanistan (on the ground floor), this is also a story, and also with tears ...
There is a park nearby, but we did not like it. We took an electric car (next to the museum, 35 rubles for 30 minutes), but it's better to check it next to the seller. In ours, the front brakes did not work and the controls were lame.
The fountains were not working and there is nothing to see there.
A great museum. Probably the best one I've ever visited. A huge exposition, it is clear that everything was done with great respect for the history of the Great Patriotic War. Excellent guides, interesting stories about the history of Belarus during the war. I recommend definitely visiting if you are in Minsk. It is imperative to show the children, otherwise they will hear enough of modern pseudo-historians that "all the exploits of the Soviet people were invented, and the Americans won the war" and then they think so...
A grandiose museum with real military equipment from the war, some even on the go. A huge exposition. I recommend that you definitely take a tour - everything is professional and interesting for any interested person. The staff is helpful and always ready to help with advice and business. There is a children's room to keep the children occupied during the parents' tour.
The museum is wonderful! Impressive in its scale. All the expositions have been created in a very interesting way. Recreated scenes from the military past. The architecture of the museum itself is impressive, the lines between the floors are erased, the expositions smoothly replace each other. The "Hall of Fame" is generally grandiose. We were there in sunny weather. The sun's rays greatly emphasized the grandeur of the place. Definitely worth a visit there! I was on an excursion with the children, I couldn't see much in detail myself, but it's a pity...
A very strong impression. I thought it would be a little boring for the children, as it often happens in museums, but here 4 hours flew by like a blink!
The museum is huge, several floors, tanks, planes, cars, everything is real, full-fledged installations, with earth, grass, swamps, rails.. Unbelievable! Panoramas, sounds, layout of the Brest fortress..
We took a sightseeing tour, it flew by like a flash, although it lasted more than two hours. And then they went all over again from beginning to end.
I definitely recommend it
A stunning museum with a serious exposition. You plunge into a time when our heroic ancestors spent their whole lives on the altar of victory. The materials of the museum have been compiled with great love, labor and knowledge. The tour is very detailed and interesting. Literally in one breath. I don't want to leave the museum. Time flies by unnoticed. In addition to military equipment, documents, and exhibits, interactive modules are presented. There is very interesting information about those difficult years.
It was a pleasure to visit this museum.
I think that it should become a mandatory program for any guest of the city.
Belarusians honor the memory of the Great Victory. This is noticeable even if you just walk around Minsk.
And there are so many exhibits and expositions in the museum that it just takes your breath away. Passing from hall to hall with gloomy lighting, you just get into the horrors of war, the suffering and grief of people, the courage of our soldiers, you experience all this. You go through, running everything through yourself, and at the very top you find yourself in a large and bright Victory hall (Peramogi). And you feel freedom, relief, joy that everything is over!
The museum was very impressed. A large number of military equipment and weapons. Impressive reconstructions of fragments: battles, life and everyday life of partisan detachments, death camps. It is necessary for young people to visit in order to understand what WAR is! There are many interesting artifacts: a gas mask for a horse, machine guns and machine guns collected by guerrilla craftsmen from various types of weapons. I definitely recommend you to visit.
The museum is not bad, there is a large area inside the building (several floors). Navigation is not very clear, perhaps everything is convenient with a guide, but without an excursion, the sequence of the route is not always clear. There seems to be a lot of technology, but it often gets mixed up. There is no cafe inside or near the museum, so it is better to feed the child in advance, or take something with you.
It is a crime to be in Minsk and not visit this museum! Qualified staff, a huge collection of exhibits. The exposition of paintings by the artist M.A. Savitsky, Hero of the Soviet Union, prisoner of concentration camps, was especially striking. I don't mention cleanliness and order at all, since this parameter is the default in all of Belarus. It can be described for a long time, but you need to see and feel for yourself. Goosebumps...
Visited on 2.01.2025. The parking lot is small next to the museum, there was a place at 10.20. We watched the exhibition as part of a tour group at 10.30 a.m. It was the beginning. I was lucky with the guide, he told me everything very interestingly. I advise you to visit with children to better understand the horrors of war. Prices can be viewed on the website. On public holidays, it is better to arrive early, as there are many visitors.
It's a good museum. I really liked the installations and interactive screens. The only drawback was that they could not purchase an audio guide. There is a good cafeteria where you can refresh yourself after visiting the expositions. There are many tour groups. It's not very convenient to maneuver between them.
I really liked it!
One of the best museums we've ever been to!!
We definitely recommend you to visit, a very interesting huge Exposition and a wonderful guide Alexander (a tall young man in his 30s with a long hairstyle) made our last day in Minsk unforgettable!
This is a very strong museum! Every Belarusian should visit here! Interactive installations, wonderful halls, real exhibits, friendly staff, super competent guides! The delight of visiting! Great sorrow from what I saw and heard...
A very interesting museum. A large exposition, built very competently. The guides are doing a great job trying to tell and show everything. A very interesting exhibition with paintings dedicated to the camps from the artist who painted them himself.
Be sure to visit. This is our history and it should not be forgotten.
The museum is great. Both adults and children liked it. The equipment is presented not only Soviet, but also German. There is a lot of information about war heroes, battles, and concentration camps. The exposition, which tells about concentration camp prisoners, their way of life, personal items, is very difficult morally, tears welled up. I recommend everyone to visit this museum, so as not to forget this part of our common history with the countries of the former USSR.
Excellent historical museum. The real military equipment presented in the museum is amazing, the convenient movement inside the museum and the amazing hall on the top floor! It is very inspiring and adds solemnity to the moment. I recommend visiting with children
An amazing museum! I advise everyone. At the very beginning, you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the war years, I was struck to tears by the musical accompaniment.
The 4 floors of the museum reflect all stages of the war, being very close to the exhibits, there is a complete immersion and it seems to you that you are standing on the battlefield.
The domed Victory Hall caused a lot of emotions. You can feel the power and freedom.
At night, it is amazingly illuminated by friends!
A huge museum with 4 floors. The exposition is very interesting, informative and well designed. In some halls there are tears in the eyes.
I advise you to visit with children to feel the spirit of the museum, look at the equipment provided, look at the horrors of war.
An absolutely stunning museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. A huge number of unique exhibits, professional, competent guides, themed halls allow you to see and learn a lot of new things. I highly recommend visiting the museum with a guided tour.
An amazing museum, large-scale, be sure to visit if you are in Minsk! We were with a group of children aged 13-17, we all really liked it! Special thanks to the museum staff and guides! We hope to see you soon!
A wonderful museum. There are many interesting exhibits. A beautiful and solemn Victory Hall. The hall with the exposition about the partisans is impressive. The child is delighted with the forest school and the German forest machine. The guide Anatoly was fascinated by history, he wanted to learn even more about the liberation of Belarus and much more.
The museum was very impressive. A rich, thoughtful exposition. Powerful, to the point of tears. It is better to visit with an excursion or an audio guide. We took an audio guide - we didn't regret it. 3 hours passed - it turned out at a calm pace, thoughtfully. The audio guide is very informative, it will guide you through all the halls and showcases in the right logic. It seemed that there were a couple of places where something changed a little in the exposition, but the audio guide remained the same. If you manage to update it, it will be super!
I definitely recommend you to visit. A very good museum. On a large scale. There are many halls, a rich exposition. When visiting, we took an hour-long tour, we did not regret it. I advise everyone. In my opinion, this should be one of the first places to visit in Minsk.
A very large museum dedicated to the Second World War.
Made to last. The scale of the exhibitions is not inferior to the museums in Moscow and St. Petersburg in the Russian Federation. The museum is divided into halls, each of which tells about individual events or participants in the war. The entrance ticket is 11 bel.rub., there is also an audio guide, but if possible, take a tour, since the exhibition is large and it is easy to miss a lot of information on your own. Recommend. It gives you goosebumps at times ..
A cool (if I may say so about this object) museum. New, fresh, modern. The museum is interactive, there are many exhibits, a huge elegant (goosebumps-inducing) hall of Fame. There is a sovereign, a children's room, an elevator, a convenient entrance and Parking available, everything is thought out very conveniently. Let's come back again.
I really liked the museum.A large exhibition. There are many halls, and there is also an exhibition of military equipment that is very interesting for both children and adults. There is a small cafe on the 1st floor and a souvenir shop.I highly recommend you to visit when traveling to Minsk.
A great museum. I recommend it with a guide (guide).
Everything is clear, understandable, patriotic.
There are many exhibits. There are many interactive screens. Wax (or other material) mannequins are very realistic.
Only the advantages! A magnificent, logically constructed exposition with a huge number of exhibits.
Polite staff.
Children 12 and 14 were strongly impressed by the right thing!
One of the best museums dedicated to the Great Patriotic War!
The museum is worth a visit. There is one story for any age. And here everything is described as clearly as possible from the beginning of the Great Patriotic War to its completion. A large number of halls and exhibitions. You will make a very identifying journey. At the end is the hall of our internationalist warriors in various countries of the world.
The museum opens at 10:00
There is a park nearby where you can take a leisurely walk
A wonderful museum! Excellent organization of the tour, professional guides, gorgeous halls, after visiting the feelings overwhelm. Sorrow and pride, gratitude to our grandfathers for their eternal feat and endless love for our common Homeland - the Great Soviet Union!
A good museum of the Great Patriotic War. There are many interesting exhibits. You can visit individually, or with an excursion, it will be more interesting when the guide settles everything. There is a beautiful park nearby.
A very nice and interesting museum! I definitely recommend everyone to visit and definitely inspect the expositions with the participation of a guide who tells you interesting things and you don't get tired of listening, because the tour lasts around 1-1.5 hours.
The Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk is one of the most impressive places I have ever visited. This museum not only perfectly conveys the history of the Great Patriotic War, but also evokes deep emotions among visitors.
The museum's expositions show very clearly and interestingly the course of events of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the sacrifices and feats of Soviet soldiers and civilians. Realistic dioramas telling about battles and liberation of cities were especially impressive.
In addition, the museum is equipped with modern technologies such as interactive exhibits and multimedia installations, which makes the visit even more exciting and informative.
I recommend everyone to visit the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk to immerse themselves in history and appreciate the feat of our ancestors. This is a truly important place that is worth visiting to understand and read the history of our country.
