as a student of a creative specialty, this museum in my hometown always evoked only positive emotions, I advised my friends, visited temporary exhibitions and the main exposition more than once.
This time, on 18.01.25, we visited the Kashtoynast exhibition. The caretaker of the hall did not stop talking on the phone and discussing personal things all the time.
all the staff behaved rudely. at the end of our visit, my mother and I dressed on special couches near the wardrobe, from where we were kicked out and forbade us, two adults, to talk quietly. the reason for this was an excursion nearby. instead of waiting for us to get dressed in 2 minutes, the staff spent 5 minutes lecturing us in a rude and commanding tone (despite the fact that the audience of the tour said that everything was in order).
I hope
this was an isolated incident and no one will have such problems later, because the place is decent.
A place where the history of the Russian avant-garde and the role of Vitebsk in it comes to life. The guides will help you with this.
Definitely, this museum should be visited with an excursion, at least for the first time.. Then you will get into the spirit of this building and its heroes. In fact, there are not many exhibits, the main thing is the building itself. The museum has a lot of multimedia with historical references, works by artists and photographs.
For us, the tour was conducted by Elena Leonidovna, a person who loves his job and passes this love and passion on. Many thanks to her!
A small but interesting museum. It was the second time. This time - with an excursion service. An excellent guide! Dynamically, in an "interactive" mode - a story, questions, answered our questions. Thank you for diving into history for 100 years!
A very interesting museum with a cool exposition telling the story of UNOVIS and early Soviet art in Vitebsk. The museum is interactive, the interiors have been restored well, in one hall the floor is made in the form of a poster "Beat the whites with a red wedge" - just fire! There are many photographs of pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary Vitebsk, part of the exhibition is devoted to the cultural life of the city at that time.
There are also excellent souvenirs: magnets, brooches, earrings, paintings and even installations based on the work of UNOVIS artists.
I've always loved this place !
But!!!
After visiting the museum on the weekend, the negative started from the very first steps: the staff tried very hard to get us only in a certain place, jackets in the wardrobe just like that, went only there - it was obvious that they were worried, but just too much.
I wanted to relax and, as they say, look to the right and not to the left))
When viewing the exhibition, the employee was on the phone all the time!
During my conversation on the phone in the wardrobe, they asked me to leave the territory of the wardrobe with bags in order to show part of the wall (apparently as an exhibit) to other visitors.
And they just persistently asked to get out of the wardrobe with clothes and bags!
They left very upset from overprotective 😒
In a word , shtetleness !!!
The museum is super, fire-fire! The guide Ekaterina is well-versed in the topic and at the same time is open to dialogue with visitors - a very accommodating, enthusiastic and not "burnt out" guide! Two hours of the tour flew by unnoticed, leaving a huge amount of food for thoughts and the desire to Google, find out, watch :)
The exposition is very professionally designed, the content and form complement each other perfectly, and the theme of the museum is revealed one hundred percent. Everything is modern, interactive, stylish - and incredibly interesting.
P.S. be sure to stock up on souvenirs, they are also filled with great meaning here!
An interesting museum dedicated to the direction of suprematism. I really liked the interactive wall where you can get acquainted with a large number of paintings! It is necessary to take a photo from the white stairs down!
A very interesting museum, immerses you in the world of art!!! We were with a group of 9th grade children, the children are delighted. We learned a lot of useful information.
The interactive wall with a lot of paintings did not leave anyone indifferent!
A wonderful modern museum dedicated to the college and its teachers - Chagall, Malevich, Lisitsky.
The focus is not on the original works, but on multimedia screens, projections, information kiosks. Interestingly, there is a lot of information, the staff is responsive
A very interesting museum (the best in Vitebsk). The interior of the museum immerses you into the world of art that was created there. The museum is interactive and I want to stay in it longer and study the exposition deeper and deeper. You should definitely take a guided tour, where you will see all the hidden features of the museum. It was interesting to study the works on the theme of the museum right on the street where it is located. I would like to visit it again.
Delight and admiration!
A modern, interactive and very photogenic museum!
The tour is dynamic, lively, interesting to everyone, even people very far from art.
People who were far ahead of their time lived and worked here.
A must-visit and more than once!
I really liked the museum, we were without a guide, the child is delighted. And there are trenches, temporary shelters on the street, you can plunge into wartime. The entrance fee is a penny
A very good modern museum.Be sure to take a guided tour. Our tour was conducted by a very pleasant young man, unfortunately, I do not remember his name, The tour was conducted at the highest level, interesting and informative)
Great! Modern. It's creative. Interesting. Well done! If you want to know where suprematism came from, go here.
There are thematic modern exhibitions.
Perhaps the best museum in Vitebsk.

The most interesting and informative museum visited in Vitebsk. Historical building, modern exposition with interactive elements. We had no guided tours, and there was a lot of written and multimedia information for self-study.
It's a great place. With a story. An intelligent and enthusiastic guide. To be honest, we did not even expect that we would like the atmosphere and content of the museum so much.
It's a great place. I recommend to watch it with a guided tour.
Be sure to take a tour of the museum. You will understand not only the history of the museum, but also the city, as well as the biography of prominent people.
A wonderful place, you can learn the history of the city , wonderful staff will enthusiastically tell the history of the city....

An interesting museum, the exposition is devoted to the time of M. Chagall's work at the college, creative experiments, work at the college of K.Malevich and other artists who created works and paintings during this period. I liked the museum itself, the interactive screens complement the exposition well with information. The staff is very responsive, there are no excursions for some reason, the museum staff shared information on all our questions. Thank them so much!!

The museum is very modern, almost every room has interactive equipment. We visited this museum on a guided tour - I really liked it. The guide is a very involved, interested person. We have only positive impressions. We definitely recommend you to visit)
The museum is interesting. There are interactors. We had a children's group (high school). Even they were interested. Now there is no need to explain about the development of painting during the formation of Soviet power. The tour is in Russian. Thanks!
The museum was very impressive. It is enough that the building in which it is located was historically an art school and it is the only one that has been preserved in good condition after the war. Other buildings along the street did not survive.
The entire space is divided into halls - former rooms and studios (as it was). The exhibition is full of multimedia. You can study only one section for 20-40 minutes.
Each hall has excellent tour guides who know literally everything about their hall and will be very happy to tell you about it. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions. After a general acquaintance with the entire exposition, you will have a lot of time to read everything yourself, look at it, walk around the halls and take pictures.
It is better to devote 3-4 hours to this place. No less.
I highly recommend a souvenir shop with non-standard products - small wooden stools and trams.
A wonderful museum, you can learn a lot of new things. It will be interesting for a lover of painting from the point of view of expanding knowledge about the biography of artists and their work.
Thanks to the guide Ekaterina - she told me interesting!
The museum itself is perfectly made - projectors, interactive displays, in the final hall you can make your own work ;)
A wonderful museum. There is a lot of interesting information, a modern presentation in authentic interiors. Amazingly knowledgeable and friendly staff. If possible, it is better to book an excursion
It is necessary to spend money on an excursion here, otherwise it will be difficult to understand the role and place of UNOVIS. But when you understand everything, you will understand much more in the vanguard
An excellent modern museum, opened in 2018. It has 2 floors, several halls dedicated to artists of the early twentieth century. You can learn a lot of information yourself using touch panels. We spent 2 hours during the visit, there are no time limits
I recommend it for adults and teenagers. Interesting

An incredible place with a rich and interesting history. Until I got there, I couldn't even imagine how exciting and informative it is there. I was pleasantly surprised - that's it! A very stylish, tasteful interior of the museum, a beautifully assembled exposition with the competent use of multimedia, light and interior elements.
Very friendly, friendly, competent, responsive and pleasant staff.
We were satisfied, we want to go back and study everything in more detail.
I wish there were more such glorious and worthy places, I'm not afraid of this word, worthy of the world level.
The museum is interestingly decorated, especially the hall with a poster stand. The historical atmosphere is conveyed. The guides tell us in interesting detail about the creation of the school, the artists who worked and studied there. I really liked the living rooms of the Chagall and Malevich families, and the room with the poster floor. And I would like to note the equipment with computer information tablets.
This is one of the most interesting museums, I didn't even expect it. Be sure to go, without it there is no integrity of the picture of Chagall, Malevich. I really liked the guide. Amazing presentation of the material, it seems that she knows them all. The museum is interactive. I didn't want to leave at all. It will be interesting not only for adults, but also for children. I felt like Alice, to whom a secret had been revealed. The artists became more understandable, especially when, on the advice of the guide, I watched a film by Mitta Chagall-Malevich. I will definitely come back again.
One of the best museums I've been to. Although almost the entire museum has been rebuilt, the digital installations are so coolly made and so fit into the overall idea! Delight!!!
I liked the museum very much: it is interesting and informative. And interactive exhibits allow you to connect the past and the future. The museum staff was impressed: I'm used to the caretakers being elderly women napping on chairs)) And there are specialists working here who will explain everything, tell you how to use interactive panels, tell you more than is written in the texts on the panels. And it feels like these women love their city and its history.
I highly recommend visiting Vitebsk! A non-banal museum, modern, interactive. Here is the history of Vitebsk and the history of the best artists of Belarus. A nice bonus: a lot of Instagram locations.
