The worst ski rent service I've ever seen. They have infinite queues taking 10+ minutes to serve each person. They don't have snowboarding shoes of my size left. They can't change your helmet if it's too small. Definitely not recommend, go ski somewhere else.
It is a nice resort and mountain, but they care more about wrongfully taking money from guests than they care about doing the right thing. I brought my wife and son for their first day of snowboarding and asked for 3 day passes. The rep told me that our 8-year old son only needed the 5k dram magic carpet pass, but failed to mention that the same was true of my wife. Great. I bought them both first-day lessons. Great. But knowing that my wife was also a first-day snowboarder, she allowed me to purchase a 20k dram day pass that was unnecessary, as there was no way she would ever be able to ride the lift that day.
OK, my mistake. I returned to the ticket office and explained the mistake. I simply needed to exchange the full day pass for another magic carpet pass. The reps were nice and called their boss to get permission. But when the manager got there, she smugly said "we cannot do this - no refunds on any purchased passes under any circumstances." So then I said "No worries, you can see that I was incorrectly sold a full day pass for a first-day boarder and that this pass has only been used for the lesson I bought her, never to ride the lift. So just sell me a daypass for 5k drams for my next time and then there's no need for a refund. "No, I will not do that." End of story. So they took an extra 15k drams, or about $38 from me for a service they knew I didn't and couldn't use. They took it just because they already had my money and knew I couldn't get it back. This is a short-sighted philosophy that builds ill-will instead of goodwill and I think it sucks. Nevertheless, I will return there because the rest of our experience was positive - good food, good service, great lift, nice people, and decent runs considering only one operational lift.
As of January 3, 2025.
In general, it is a good place, a worthy competitor to Tsakhkadzor, which has great development potential.
Positive:
Excellent trails, fast equipment rental service, mandatory helmet equipment (a plus for the attitude to the safety of guests), fast and comfortable lifts, snow cannons are very useful, wonderful views, a cooler with free water and a free toilet in the rental center.
Minuses:
The transfer is terrible for those who are not in their own car. Getting from Yerevan to Mailer will not be a problem by taxi, but a taxi back is rare and very expensive. There is an option to go back on the GG shuttle - not cheap, but reliable. Ultraoverprice in a cafe/restaurant. You cannot deposit a skipass card at the cashier in order to return 2k drams for it.
The best ski resort in Armenia. Although it is only developing, it surpasses all others in terms of comfort. Good rental with new equipment. All snowboards look fresh. Fast lifts closed from the wind. The only drawbacks are probably the poorly developed infrastructure around the resort itself, but I think they will do this over time. The tracks are well prepared, I have not seen a single stone on the track. In the middle of the day, roads that have already been damaged may be flooded again.
The new Mailer resort opened in 2024.The resort is equipped with new cable cars. You can rent any equipment. The staff is responsive. A prerequisite for skating is a helmet! No one is allowed on the cable car without a helmet! There are few trails and they are more for beginners. For the advanced level , they are boring .There are restaurants on site, and prices are reasonable. There are very few hotels and guest houses, there is no civilization nearby. They came from Tsakhkadzor in one day (a taxi of 14,000 drams one way-3500 rubles)The journey took 1.30 minutes .Ski pass unlimited 4000 rubles per day).I recommend visiting it as a new resort, but Tsakhkadzor is better
Positive: new good lifts with wind protection, lots of trails for beginners, great views of Aragats and Ararat.
Cons: the lack of navigation, at least in English, the inventory workers do not understand any language other than Armenian, small parking lots, rental and ski pass payment are located in one inflatable hangar, which causes a terrible crush at the entrance.
I rented a snowboard and there just weren't any boots in my size, so I had to take a size smaller, even though I arrived at half past 12 in the morning. I didn't have any glasses either, but they charged me for them. Everywhere along the route there are ads saying that there is a 15% discount when paying with a Visa card, the staff say that it does not work, and there is no discount. I skated all day, but for the whole day I couldn't change the shoes to the ones I needed, they were in another rental at the Nairi lift, but they refused me there, arguing that I didn't borrow from them. The workers don't understand the inventory at all, they don't understand that US sizes are written on the shoes. Also, only two racks are available for snowboarders to rent equipment, and before that, for some reason, you need to register and enter all your information at the entrance. The equipment is the simplest, and there is no declared premium equipment on the site either. Many trails are closed, although they are being drawn on the map, and working trails are often very narrow and still fenced off, although there are cliffs with bare stones right along the edges. I didn't see any rescuers on duty along the trails either.
It can be honestly said that what is being told on the site is 80% fiction, desires and plans. In reality, the infrastructure is at a rudimentary level, there is no city around the resort, access roads are broken and narrow. At this rate of development, the resort will only work properly in 5 years. At the same time, it is strange that the owners deprive themselves of money, simply ignoring the congestion of rental and cash registers. At the same time, the prices for everything are very high. If you want to go, it's better to take your inventory and do not contact the local rental, buy only a skipass.
We were in a good mood.
Convenient parking, clean.
The two funiculars are perfectly spaced apart. We went up in cabins, comfortable, excellent view,
At the top there is a stunning view of Ararat and Aragats. There is a cafe.
A new ski resort in Armenia! Ski school, professional instructors, three restaurants, high-level service!
Not everything has been built yet and not all the tracks are open, but this is a great alternative to Tsakhkadzor.
You can have a good weekend for more than one!
We are waiting for more snow, but this question is more about the weather conditions)))
It's good that there are new ski spots. In comparison with Tsakhkadzor, it wins in terms of the novelty and quality of the lifts and trails. But the tracks themselves are less interesting. The landscapes are similar - essentially the same mountain but on the other side. Parking is free in February 2025.
Հավես տեղ🤩.. It is a place where winter pleasures meet with magnificent landscapes. Skiing and then climbing to the top of the mountain to enjoy a delicious hot tea is a truly unforgettable experience. Only this view is worth visiting this place.🇦🇲🇦🇲
Review as of February 2025
By a miracle, I managed to buy a skipass online - it was the only way to buy quickly, and with a 15% discount when paying with VISA. The equipment store is poor, it's better not to hope for the opportunity to buy something on the spot, you're unlikely to find it.
There's a problem with instructors, Mailer instructors need to be booked 10 days in advance (as we were informed at the checkout), they arrived for the weekend, and they didn't leave the waiting list for 2 days. We hired an accredited instructor with a green armband, the price is x2 of the resort price. Book in advance.
An ambulance is "on duty" below - a closed carriage. If you need her, "they'll call her now." Still, I would like to see a clean, warm medical center that has something other than a Band-Aid.
There were no problems with the rental: they ordered quickly, received relatively quickly, and the equipment was convenient.
Everyone says there are a lot of people, but there are no queues for the lifts, there is a small crowd at the rental. It is important to note here that there are 2 rental points for the Nare and Angelina cable cars.
An ice rink has recently opened, and there is a tubing area.
I am glad that we found the right track for us and were able to ride and have fun. The lifts are new and inspire confidence. The views at the very top are simply mesmerizing. We will definitely return to ride and learn, but with the knowledge gained from our own experience) I would really like to see more transparency in the instructor booking process.
It's a good place, but it's still in its infancy. The road is a horror (it's good that the parking was done, last year there was a mess of land) houses for rent are more expensive than in Europe 5-star hotels (although it was New Year's holidays) you need to show documents for a child to buy a ski pass (which shows that there are no 18 there) - this is the first time I've seen this! Before you start riding, you need to overcome those and prove to yourself that you came to ride, but then everything gets better, the cable cars are fast and convenient, there are only a few trails (the upper one is not open on January 3, 2025), but everything is very decent, definitely wins from Tsakhadzor in this regard. Nutrition is a separate topic:) The bartenders don't take orders at the bar. You have to go around the counter to the cash register to make an order, pay, and only then receive the order... (well, at least that's what I was told) I've never seen such a principle of operation anywhere.. It's a good thing they didn't tell you to make and bring the order yourself. In general, the place is good, but there is definitely room to grow!
I can say right away that this is a very good resort for Armenia. In words, as in Armenia in principle, they are "Leo Tolstoy", ambitions are huge, it will be just a garden city among resorts))).
Now, in fact, I didn't expect such greed anywhere, right from the doorstep. For example, when buying a skipass, and the daily one costs 14,000 AMD, about 4k rubles, you still have to purchase a card, ordinary plastic. Here, for a piece of plastic, without thinking about the environment, plastic is sold for 2000 dollars, even if you do not plan to return here, you will not be able to return it, as well as its cost.
In terms of the quality of the trails, at an average level, it is definitely better than Tsakhkadzor, since there are guns and they work here. I didn't like that the skipass cost is charged for actually 5 working trails. They want to build and launch a lot of things, so make the prices more affordable, otherwise they charge the cost for 102km of the promised trails instead of the existing 21km.
One more thing, I understand that you have an amorous relationship with the Visa sponsor, but it's not clear why you should advertise them at eye level in handball. As a result, it is visually impossible to directly enjoy the view. In many resorts, the advertising of the title sponsor is either lower or higher, and even in the first stage of the gondola it is done, but no, the higher, the more you should see the "electrical tape" in front of your eyes, and not the mountains of Aragats.
Everything is at the best level! All the equipment for rent is new, tracks for every taste and complexity. You don't have to ski, just climb up and enjoy the views from the top.
I enjoyed riding here, very comfortable cable car, free Parking. Unfortunately, there are only two tracks. But if you believe the information on the website, in the future there will be more trails, and the number of lifts will increase to 17. Separately, it is necessary to note the majestic view of Mount Aragats
The new resort is still under construction , but two ski lifts with good , well - maintained trails are already operating . cheap Ski pass prices cheap rental prices even take into account the fact that we were on New Year's holidays . In short, we really liked it
The restaurant service is disgusting, the top management can not be worse. However, the concept itself is amazing. I would like to see this place developed and friendly to its own customers.
The place is great. A new and well maintained ski resort. There is little snow at the beginning of January, but it is everywhere now. The main thing is that there are few people. There are no queues for the elevator.
Great snow + 85 snow cannons.New snow trucks.A good freeride is in the morning.Lots of sun.An expensive restaurant with Moscow prices.Dirty parking and a construction site around.Blue-green highways, as in Kirovsk in the Southern sector. The plans include casinos and hotels. You need to live in Yerevan.
The best ski resort in Armenia
Everything is very convenient and comfortable

Atmospheric, cozy, beautiful. There are instructors, there is a training track, there are good long tracks. Boots, skis, gloves, masks, sticks, helmets are available for rent. There are a lot of people, I had to stand in line for two hours for equipment, but it didn't spoil the mood. The restaurant is open, there are warm clean dumplings. If you have your own gear, then you can buy a skipass online. We took an instructor for three for two hours, it turned out 42,000 drams. And another 15,000 ski passes to the training track for three for the whole day. Standard class equipment (boots, skis, poles, mask) it costs 8500 drams. One ascent to the main routes, if I'm not mistaken, 3500, was not taken. Great, I liked everything.
The queue for rent on the weekend is 2-2.5 hours. Either come with your own, or to Tsakhkadzor. The problem is systemic, there's not enough equipment for everyone, and that's why there's a queue.
A new ski resort, not yet open, but compared to Tsakhkadzor, heaven and earth

They gave away an unlubricated board that wasn't moving at all, went upstairs, realized that it wasn't going downhill, the board was slowing down, went down the lift, they didn't return the money for the board, especially for the lift, they said they had given the best board. OK! thank
you, the track is green - narrow, but cool
, the lifts are excellent, new and modern,
in short, you can only go there with skiing experience, with your own equipment and preferably not cross paths with the staff, everything is strange
The slopes are excellent, for every taste. But the registration for receiving the inventory is delayed. All inventory is new. If you arrive at the opening, you will get to the slope faster.
The view from the mountain is incomparable! We need to be there in clear weather!

I want to believe that in the future it will be a luxury resort for a couple of years. Everything is currently under construction, but so far everything is well and tidy. A worthy competitor to the tired Tsakhkadzor.
