Nicely.. Majestic.. The stones are well fitted.. Some blocks are perfect.. I love ruins, so I really advise you to climb there.. As a reward, you will have a beautiful view of the bay with yachts and the city
It's not a bad gate, but it's ruined. There are paths all around. It was probably better before. You can walk around for ten minutes, then you get bored.
The gates of Mindos have an impressive history, it is a pity that now we have the opportunity to see only a copy (and that in a rather deplorable state). Since the original was destroyed by Alexander the Great. Nevertheless, the place has historical value and if you live within walking distance, you can visit it.
The ruins of the ancient gate of the city of Halicarnassus. Alexander the Great destroyed it. Also, if you climb the gate, you can see the remains of an ancient fortress wall. I liked it, we walked from the center, everything is free, I recommend to see it.
My hotel was located next door to the gates of Mindos, I walked through them every day: to the sailor, to the shops, for a walk to the center. Sometimes she returned in the dark and alone, no one offended or scared her. The tracks are laid out, so you need comfortable shoes.
In addition to the Mindos Gate, visitors to Bodrum can explore other historical sites such as the Bodrum Castle, the mausoleum in Halicarnassus (ruins), the ancient theater and the Bodrum Amphitheater.
I did not regret that I walked to this gate, from them there is still a skeleton of the wall towards the sea with a walking path. However, the object is probably interesting to those who love history.
An ancient building, completely forgotten by the city authorities. Everything is dirty - there is garbage, dirty clothes, a bunch of empty bottles, you can easily step in 💩
