We rested at the hotel from 20.02.-03.30.2023, I will be without lyrics, with consequences and to the point:
1. Nutrition. We were ready for the meager Cuban cuisine, but on the 1st and 2nd day of our stay there was nothing to eat from the word "absolutely" omelette, thick-skinned cucumbers, green tasteless tomatoes and boiled cabbage. Further (perhaps someone complained, perhaps circumstances arose), they came from the Republican Department with a check and the kitchen became good in the Cuban sense: pieces of fish fillet, chicken / pork /beef / fish from the cook, but there is a queue, potatoes, greens; they do not shine with fruits, pastries are also questionable, soups (broth) "you can't look without tears." Cuba and the kitchen are primitive and about nothing. BUT we were ready for this, and then more!!!
2. MIDGES (in bold letters)! This is a complete trash, overshadowing our vacation, which came out not cheap for a family of 4 people (parents and children 12, 15 years old) and a 13.5 hour flight to another continent and it's NOT worth it! Compared to a vacation in Cuba last 2022, we were at the Iberostar Selection Playa Pilar 5* of course, the difference is obvious! Next, I will describe what it is. In this Playa Coco 4* hotel, devilish midges were found from the surrounding swamps, all the hotel guests were bitten, they itched for days and especially at night, and our funds did not help in any way. When asked by an employee of the department, the answer was this: this is the continental climate (which is like, what did you expect, we got into this period), BUT that year on exactly the same dates in February there was no such horror in the 5* hotel! It is necessary to see these bitten bodies, there was no living place on many of them. Perhaps this is the biggest disadvantage of this hotel. As the staff told us that the hotel opened not so long ago and is gradually recovering from the pandemic, I understand everything, but the fight against midges should be the main task!
3. CLEANING AND WAITERS. There is no question only about clearing (we prepared gifts from Russia as tips - I attach a photo), cleaned for 4 hours, were friendly, friendly and attentive. What can not be said about the waiters in the Snake bar (on the beach), where an adult, seemingly, a woman who hates all Russians did dirty tricks and irritated the guests with her actions: I had a Russian tourist, a guy with many children waiting for sandwiches for children for 1.5 hours, meanwhile the waitress took them out to guests of another country in 2-3 minutes, not paying attention to the Russian, it came to swearing, thanks to a Russian vacationer who speaks Spanish, she helped resolve the conflict. Then it was observed that she poured drinks a little bit (30 grams) when the glass was 0.5! Is she sorry??? Or did she specifically chase Russians more often so that they would not relax?! The other waiters didn't do that! It is necessary to mention the waiter Yandy, at the beach bar - who was friendly, friendly and did not plot against Russians. He was full of kindness! There were also good waitress girls at the lobby bar and parks too, and girls at the reception. Special attention should be paid to the waiter George (shark matata) from the ice bar, understands and speaks a little Russian, loves children and is attentive to adults.
4. ANIMATION on 4, because the evening shows were the same, and this is for an amateur. warm-up, zumba and relay race - for 5 - incendiary and fun
5. THE OCEAN. There are no words, it's worth flying to Cuba for once.
As a conclusion: when we flew back (at the airport), there were about 500 people from different countries and literally only our hotel and a couple dozen more people were bitten, draw your own conclusions!
This hotel is NOT RECOMMENDED for visiting! When choosing a hotel, be very careful and look at the location on the map.
The only store in Nakascola, the prices are too high. But for lack of anything else at hand, there are norms, there is almost everything you may need - meat, fish, drinks, milk, pasta, cereals, ice cream, household chemicals, toys. Well, in general, a lot of things.
