I went there only because of Aivazovsky and never regretted it. There are a lot of works, there is something to see. One of the unique items was a brooch with a whole sea panorama, a small stone from the black sea, but again with a finely drawn marine picture. In general, each Aivazovsky painting is unique, and each one can admire for a long time both the huge canvas of the ninth shaft in St. Petersburg and such a small brooch. I walked through the rest of the halls quickly, I liked the stone sculptures, I liked the painting by Leon Gasparyan, it seems to be written in pencil, but you can feel the volume. I didn't even have time to look into the halls on the 2nd floor, the gallery was already closing. But it will be an occasion to visit Yerevan and its art gallery once again.😁
A beautiful building on Republic Square. Now there are repairs above the fourth floor, on the ground floor too. There is a sculpture hall in the basement. In June - July 2024, there was an exhibition of Italian art. But Aivazovsky's exposition was much more impressive. There are no audio guides. The entrance ticket is 2000 AMD. In general, the visit is justified
It's a great place. The museum itself-both its directions, the attitude of the staff, ventilation-everything is at the highest level. I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of a hall with paintings by Aivazovsky and replicas of jewelry sold at the entrance 😁
I really liked the National Art Gallery of Armenia. The copies of the frescoes were especially impressive. Friendly staff. Beautiful interiors. There were very few people. He walked quietly and enjoys art.
At the entrance, they did not explain to us that the historical museum and the art gallery are different entrances and payment, respectively. And we were limited in time and got to the museum. Interesting, but not those expectations. The paintings of the great Aivazovsky are presented in the art gallery and we saw this beauty only from the second visit :)
We were in August 2024, not all expositions are working as reconstruction is underway.but I liked the exposition anyway. We bought a ticket of 2500 drams (about 520 rubles) to the national museum and separately 2000 drams to the gallery
I decided to go to the gallery today. I looked at the schedule on the official website - it works from 11 to 18. I came and tried to buy a ticket. There was no one at the checkout! There are no announcements that the gallery is not working today. I started asking at the souvenir shop, at the security, at the ticket office of the historical museum(they are in the same building as the gallery). Nobody knows anything! While I was walking around the lobby and asking, a lot of people came who, like me, wanted to get into the gallery. I have been to many galleries around the world and have not seen such an attitude towards visitors! I really hope that the management (and maybe the heads of the gallery's managers) will read my review and take measures to prevent this from happening again.
I was impressed by Aivazovsky's paintings, just for the sake of it it's already worth going. The historical museum next door is rich and interesting for its sights. Some floors are undergoing renovation work.
An interesting place.
The main motive for visiting the gallery was Aivazovsky. There are his paintings here that you will definitely not find and see in another museum.
Expectations were met, as the artist is outstanding and the paintings are extraordinary.
The rest of the exposition evoked more restrained emotions. Perhaps because most of the gallery has been under repair for several years and is not accessible to the public.
A wonderful museum with a magnificent collection of Aivazovsky's works.
Unfortunately, some of the most interesting floors are closed for repairs, which will go on until the end of the year....
At least you can see Aivazovsky
Repair. There were three halls. Aivazovsky. I came by recommendation. Yes, there is a lot of it and I enjoyed it. I liked two works by Armenian impressionists. And everything.
There was also an exhibition of French art. Cute.
The rest of the works are not accessible to my aesthetic perception. In the first photo, for example.
The museum itself does not have any cafes or coffee shops. It is necessary to introduce some modern multimedia elements. Moreover, people from different countries visit. It would be useful and interesting to read something on a multimedia screen, for example, about a particular Armenian artist and his works.
The permanent exhibition of I. Aivazovsky makes a very strong impression, quite a large number of works, you can fully enjoy the works of the marine artist. An interesting exposition of A. Hakobyan's works. At the end of which you can try to make your own sculpture from the proposed details, of course, under the impression of the works you have seen. It will be very exciting and useful for children at the same time.
My impressions were very positive. Four halls of Aivazovsky, classical Armenian painting, a wonderful exhibition of an interesting and unusual Armenian artist, an exposition of one of the most famous sculptors. Very polite staff.
It is not necessary to visit Yerevan. The disadvantages noted by me:
- there is no audio guide;
- excursions on an unknown schedule;
- information about the artist is available only in the Aivazovsky hall, in the rest there are just paintings /sculptures without any interactive;
- repairs are underway on the 5th-6th floor, so viewing Aivazovsky is accompanied by a puncher;
- inconvenient working hours from 11 to 18, it is almost impossible to get there with a busy tour program.
Otherwise, a solid 4 with a minus.
Great gallery. I really liked the Aivazovsky hall. A strong impression of the Armenian Impressionists. A small but pleasant exhibition of French interior design. The gallery itself leaves a pleasant impression. Everything is thought out. Tickets are not expensive 2000 Adm. Clean toilets.
A wonderful museum, entrance from Republic Square. A large collection of Aivazovsky, very interesting Armenian impressionists. Antiquities didn't interest me much, they need more time. I also found an interesting exhibition of nude art - very interesting works.
I put 4, first of all why let's start with the pros, the entrance group is gorgeous , the receptionist is polite, good, the cloakroom attendant is generally a nice woman, she suggested, took my things for storage so that I wouldn't drag around with them, there is a safe, they give out a key , the exhibition of ancient times was not impressed, I wanted something else , it was so the same carpet exhibition , as if in some kind of store
Of the disadvantages, there is no information about exhibitions that are held in Russian, so that you can choose
And I would like to see more , as if something was missing for me .
And so in general, the museum is modern and solid!
It's a very beautiful place. We visited the museum, of course some kind of excursion or audio guide was not enough, but there was not much time before closing.
A very interesting museum with great potential, it seems to me that a couple of floors there are just empty, Armenian art is presented just great, but Russian and Western European artists are not, a large exhibition of Aivazovsky, well, Armenians consider him their own.
I liked Aivazovsky's permanent exhibition. I recommend visiting the retired permanent exhibitions of modern Armenian art. Everything is included in one ticket.
It's a good museum. The exposition is not very large, but it is very informative and very ancient. It's a pity there is no description of the exhibits in Russian.
On the ground floor there is an obscure daub by unknown artists, although quite old paintings. Aivazovsky's works are impressive (I found out that he turns out to be Armenian) and an exhibition of frescoes from churches from all over Armenia (very ancient). In general, I did not regret that I visited, it is interesting.
I recommend you to visit . A lot of Aivazovsky's works. There are very beautiful works by the Impressionists of Armenia. Unfortunately , the hall of Russian and Western European painting was closed .
I was at the history museum. I was very impressed with the design of the expositions, especially the hall with carpets!!!
We were in the picture gallery for Aivazovsky's exhibitions, we liked everything.
The hours in the gallery fly by unnoticed. Both permanent and temporary expositions are presented. A guided tour can be booked on site for an additional fee.
There are just a lot of impressions! After visiting the museum, I just fell in love with Armenian impressionism!
The museum is extremely welcome to visit.
I was passing through Yerevan. The time interval between flights allowed you to walk around the city and see local attractions. I couldn't get past the National Art Gallery. I saw a wonderful exhibition of Armenian impressionists. I really liked the work of the artists. I discovered a new layer of painting
Part of the gallery is under renovation. There are temporary exhibitions, and a hall with Armenian impressionists is also open. An entire wing is devoted to the work of Aivazovsky.
We visited this museum at night, as it was Museum Night (admission is free). The impressions can be said to be magnificent, informative and just very beautiful!!!!
