A must-visit place if you are a tourist. The unusual architecture is impressive. There are interesting guided tours in the library itself, I recommend it. There is also an observation deck (separate entrance, not through the library). That's definitely worth a visit. Despite the fact that the playground is only on the 22nd floor (not that high, right?), it offers an almost panoramic view of the entire city. The entrance ticket costs very little — 10 rubles (for December 2024). In addition to the observation deck, you can visit an art exhibition and a small cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee with a view of Minsk.

We often rent auditoriums for various events. Convenient location, affordable price, and everything in the main architectural wonder of the country.
But of course, security is probably the only point that is very annoying. She was clearly recruited from military institutions, where entry is strictly prohibited. Of course, the management should tell them that people can and should be allowed into the library.
On 08.12.24, there was a conflict with the head of security, a short round uncle with a red face clung to literally every visitor. He accosted us because of the tripods, claiming that this was a professional shooting technique. Moreover, we did not have cameras, we shoot our events on the phone so that everyone would be in the frame. The evil uncle guard said that you can shoot on the phone, but tripods are not allowed)). He comes up with rules on the go)).
We went to the information center, where a nice girl explained to us what can be filmed and what can not be (books). In general, in our case, according to her, access is open to us, and she personally went to the checkpoint to notify the head of security about this. But my uncle did not give up. Principles!! For some reason, expressively, as at the blackboard, he told us that he had been working in security for 14 years and that just anyone would not pass him. And we, the very "random" residents of the Republic of Belarus, taxpayers, for whose taxes that same evil uncle receives a po. Oh well..
A little later, a policeman came out to us, and lo and behold!, he began to ask the head of the guard why he would not let us in. Apparently, he's already got everyone there, both visitors and employees. But my uncle turned out to be completely impenetrable, we already wanted to invite the library management, but we already felt sorry for our time and we still handed over the tripods to the wardrobe, since they did not even fit into the storage room. In general, the head of the guard drank blood and spoiled the day, diligently creating a lot of inconvenience for us.
Dear leadership of the main building of the country, pay attention to the situation. You have thousands of tourists, guests of the capital. Well, it's just a shame to bring someone from the guests there so that the day would not be spoiled along with the memories of the tour.
Yes, of course, security should perform its function. But it's not the first year that we've been your guests and there have been a lot of conversations with the guards, but they always understand the situation and kindly let them through. But this is the first time we have such a case, perhaps this head of security is a new person, if so, then in vain! Please take action.

If you want a cool overview of Minsk, go here. I recommend visiting the library in the evening, when the lights of the city begin to glow. Admission is discounted for schoolchildren , students and others of 5 p categories , for the remaining 10 . See the work schedule on the off-site , you get to the observation deck by a glass elevator , an exciting sight! There is a cafe and an art gallery of modern Belarusian artists on the 22nd floor, and there are free lenses for observing objects on the site itself. The views are amazing! The staff is polite and attentive, I recommend it to everyone!!!

I really liked the National Library, the spacious halls, and the atmosphere of the Soviet-era reading rooms. There is a huge selection of literature for all tastes, you can stop by for a guided tour. The building itself is a separate architectural masterpiece that stands out from others on Independence Avenue.

It's just great, a great place to work, read or study, lots of good books, a big bathroom, clean and beautiful.
There is a piano, we visited Galleries, there is a museum.
We paid only 5 Belarusian rubles for two people for a reader's ticket, spent 2 hours there, but we would like to visit every day.

A very unusual and interesting place! I really liked the National Library of Belarus! On the 23rd floor, there is a good view on the observation deck. On the 22nd floor there is a cafe with an excellent menu: delicious pancakes, coffee. An art exhibition was also held there.

It is interesting to see Minsk from a height and see wide avenues and beautiful Soviet architecture, not typical Khrushchev buildings, but interesting columns, powerful buildings and figures on roofs and facades. I planned to climb to the observation deck, walked across the city from Lenin Square. As a library, it is an incredibly beautiful, modern, unusual building. As an observation room, I did not like the view, if it could be considered, it was blocked by glass fences for safety reasons. I wouldn't go again…

The best place I've been so far. The library design is top notch! Everywhere there is no dirt at all, the floors are already shiny. There are a lot of chairs and sofas that are so soft that you literally drown in them. The staff is very polite and talkative. They will always tell you what and where. There are thousands of books here. There are many places where you can read, or rather they are everywhere.
A must-see place for tourists!

The library building impresses with its scale and unusual shape (rhombocuboctahedron), and its location on a hill allows you to enjoy stunning views of the city from the top platform.
The library tour exceeded all our expectations. The guide turned out to be very interesting and knowledgeable, he told us many interesting facts about the history of the library, its architectural features and modern functions.
We were particularly impressed by the fact that the national flags of Belarus are flying on many high-rise buildings in Minsk. This gives the city a special atmosphere and pride in the country.
Also a pleasant surprise was a visit to the museum cafe on the territory of the library. The panoramic view of the city, the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food made our lunch unforgettable.

Big , beautiful , bright , a lot of good things can be said .
But I would like to draw the attention of the administration that there is not enough direction indicator .
I went into the hall , I guess that I need to go through the turnstile, then I need an identified office number, but it's unclear in which direction to look . And you can only ask the turnstile guards, and you don't want to do that. Maybe I didn't see the pointer, but most likely it's not there.
This is a minus for the library .
By the way, I got the impression that the library is huge, and there are no employees in it. is it that quiet there or is everything so mechanized .
Oh, by the way, the toilet. On the 1st floor , where there is a wardrobe , there is a toilet with toilets dug into the floor . It's amazing. I'm curious what the designers are guided by when designing such toilets. This is the most unergonomical form both from the point of view of use and from the point of view of cleanliness and from the point of view of cleaning .

The library itself was not visited, there were New Year's holidays and events were held there. But I recommend going up to the observation deck and looking at Minsk from a height of 23 floors. Very impressive. And then walk through the gallery with interesting and beautiful paintings and drink coffee with dessert in the cafe on the 22nd floor.

If you haven't been to the National Library of Belarus yet, you should definitely plan a visit! You can climb to the top floor of the library for, in my opinion, 11 bel. Of course, there are viewing binoculars, but the view in early spring did not impress me personally. The ascent is carried out on a glazed elevator, which is also quite an entertainment, there is also a coffee shop upstairs. There are monuments outside that you can see and admire, I advise you to visit, but not primarily)

After visiting the observation deck, we went to a local restaurant, which is on the floor below. We were delighted with the atmosphere and the cuisine.
We were invited to touch the story itself! They brought a Bible in Latin script issued in 1798. It's impossible to convey the feeling when you just turn over the pages that are more than 2 centuries old...

I definitely recommend a visit! The observation deck on the 23rd floor offers a view of a part of the city. Before visiting, make sure that you do not get into the ticket sales break (15 minutes). There is one cashier, one ticket sales window. The queue is alive. Although there is a QR code for purchasing an electronic ticket, but in fact it did not work out to buy it, so we waited for the opening of the ticket office after the break. The elevator is panoramic, you can watch how the view opens during the ascent. We were in August 2024, the prices for the photos correspond to this period. Be sure to visit the restaurant on the 22nd floor. The food is delicious and the presentation is aesthetic. But there may not be any empty seats, book in advance. It will be especially beautiful at sunset in the evening.

Some books from the Soviet period and a small number of paintings by local artists. Unfortunately, there is nothing worthwhile. If you decide to visit this place, go directly to the observation deck. Admires with its architecture and organization of the space near the Library. It is considered the largest exhibition hall in the Republic of Belarus. The panoramic elevator goes up to the 23rd floor - this is the place for the best views of the Eastern Gate of Minsk and the surrounding area. There are binoculars on the site, as well as indications of what is far below, if you look in the right direction. The playground is secure, fenced with high glass and safe for all visitors and children. It was not possible to get into the library itself due to the weekend. On the 22nd floor there is a cafe Graf Kafe with delicious food and an art gallery. The place charges 100%!!

I think 99 percent of the reviews are not about the library, but about the observation deck, which is located on the roof. The observation deck is really interesting. Not Ostankino Tower, of course, but the view is really decent. There is a good and fairly inexpensive cafe on the floor below. Please note that the entrance to the observation deck is not obvious enough. For guidance, the library should be bypassed on the left, focusing on a large car park. Many people go to the right and make a full circle)))))

One of the main attractions of modern Minsk. A striking contrast with the mimic old (upper) town. You understand intellectually that this is still a library, although in fact it is a large cultural center. Describing its contents is silly. There are art exhibitions, photos, a viewing platform, and children's scientific and cultural activities... The atmosphere is peculiar, you just have to feel it. A cultural bright grain in a country that suffered terribly during the Second World War. I was there after New Year's Eve. There are carousels and pavilions with hot and hot drinks all around :) Even the rain didn't spoil the mood. Even just passing through Minsk is definitely worth a visit!

A gorgeous place! Ultra-modern for authentic Minsk. To the right of the main entrance, you can get to the observation deck. The view is gorgeous, and the ticket costs 300 rubles. There is also a nice restaurant upstairs (we couldn't resist dessert and coffee) and a gallery where exhibitions often change. After going downstairs, we walked through the park with fountains and got to the ceramics workshop. The place is great, be sure to include it in your visiting program.

I put 4 only because it is one of the main attractions of the city. And the rest... We decided with a friend to visit the observation deck of the library and, since this is a paid event, we went to get a ticket like normal people through the main entrance. Not finding the ticket office where tickets are sold, we went to the information window. There was a young lady standing against the opposite wall. We asked how to get to the observation deck. She said something softly and waved her hand vaguely to the side. Since there was music playing in the building, we didn't hear it and asked again. The young lady, without changing her position and without coming closer to the window, silently pointed us to the sign to our right, which indicates how to get to the ticket office of the observation deck. I.e. she was so busy that it was difficult for her to explain to us in words! It would be nice if there was a queue and she was tired of repeating everything, although this is an information window and, in my opinion, this is her job. And then we and a few other people were looking for an entrance to climb to this very site using vague signs.. And there is one ticket office and a long queue of people, including foreign tourists. But at 16.00 the ticket office closed for a technical break and people were waiting for 15! minutes until the ticket office opens. Why not make two cash registers that would work in turn so as not to inconvenience people? In general, we are looking at Europe, and the service leaves much to be desired... However, in fairness, I must say that once you get to the top, you forget about all the negative aspects, the view from above is amazing!

It is a great place, we try to visit it on every trip to Belarus. The roof offers a beautiful view of the city.
There is also a fly in the ointment: problems with ventilation in the premises, the lack of branded tickets to the observation deck, the re-equipment of the roof with security elements, which lose all the thrill of exploring the city from a height.
There are a lot of books in the library itself, as well as a stall at the entrance selling beautiful Belarusian books on history and ethnography. We always visit them too.

I've been to various libraries around the world and ours is a sad sight. Apart from the peculiar shape on the outside, there is nothing remarkable. Inside is just an office building with the same finishing materials and offices. It's hot, the ventilation can't cope in summer. There is frankly nothing to see, a couple of installations and hand-drawn panels of areas on the walls. A boring typical office building. They hold many events, but they are all in the hall on the stairs, because there is nowhere special. Except for the time of the president, of course.
