The National Museum of Ethnography and History in Chisinau is located in the area of the old center, there is no parking for a car here. There is a convenient website with information, working hours, ticket prices.
I've wanted to come here for a long time - it's a very beautiful building from the outside and I knew that the museum has a good collection of Moldovan carpets, and I love them very much. Finally came here. Although there is a certain charm in old buildings and museums, the administration should still think about modernizing the ways of presenting information. It is definitely worth going here because of the collection of carpets and huge skeletons of fossil elephants. Children's toys in the form of coffins and dolls depicting the dead were surprised at the exhibition. But, given the complex Moldovan funeral rituals, it is definitely interesting for children to play it.
The museum staff has funny passages behind the scenery, which are accessed by narrow doors. It would be interesting to get there too :)
A wonderful museum! Everything is detailed and clear. Museum navigation is a separate art form. You start from the very beginning (which you didn't know about) and end up with modern and familiar facts.
