A wonderful museum with a collection of famous Russian and Kazakh authors. Here you can see the works of Shishkin, Levitan, Kramskoy and many others. I recommend taking an entrance ticket with an excursion (+~2000 tenge), it's worth it. It will be much more interesting with a guide, because there are people working here who are sincerely interested in the paintings exhibited in the museum. There are many interesting facts from biographies and history. A trip to Semey (formerly Semipalatinsk) without going to this Museum would be less exciting.
The Nevzorov family. A married couple. A family of engineers who moved from Leningrad (St. Petersburg, Petrograd) at one time (WWII). Who have gathered an art exhibition in more than one generation. And gratuitously left their collection in Semipalatinsk. I personally saw them at the opening of their gallery (they came to the opening), a low bow to the honorary citizens of Semipalatinsk.
As for me, the best art museum in the city. Not because it's the only one, but because it's the best. One hour is not enough to see all the artistry of the Nevzorov family
It's a very beautiful place
The locals hold photo sessions for weddings, but it would be better to go on excursions, a lot of paintings are very interesting
I advise guests to visit the city
It is very pleasant that in our city you can see firsthand the originals of ancient and valuable paintings. The exhibits are fascinating! I strongly advise you to see how a REAL painting was painted.
Everything is fine, except for these aspects: very creaking floors (when you walk around looking at paintings in silence, it's very awkward in front of the audience), there is no Kaspi QR/translation (I think every modern institution should work out this moment if it wants to make money at all), you can't walk freely through the halls (only there, where the viewer points), the lighting is not worked out in places.
A wonderful museum! Especially the exposition of the second floor. The originals of the beautiful and unique works of Shishkin, Makeev, unknown authors of the 18th century are presented
Every resident and guest of the city is simply obliged to visit this museum!
Beautiful works by artists of different centuries and generations. Different techniques, genres.
The museum building itself is beautifully preserved and decorated. You will not notice how 2-3 hours will fly by and you will not get up from watching the works of artists!
Nicely. It's worth a visit. Friendly staff. There is always something to see. It is forbidden to take photos of paintings only. Clear. You can sit down and relax if you are tired of walking. Pleasant atmosphere.
I am delighted to visit the museum! From a chic, multifaceted collection. I will say that it is very unexpected!! Upon arrival, next time I want to go back there and take a good look at everything. Just amazing work. Special thanks to the museum staff!!
I really enjoyed the tour! I'm not an expert on painting, but the girl told me everything you need to know about the history of the museum, the paintings on display, and even a little about the ways of painting. It is very interesting, I recommend everyone to visit the museum periodically, especially since it is open not only on Saturday, but also on Sunday.
The presence of such a gallery in our city is undoubtedly pleasing, but the condition of some exhibits is not very good.Overall, a pleasant impression, well, where else can we have the opportunity to see the originals of Rembrandt, Savrasov, Shishkin.
The museum is simply fantastic for such a city, it is located in an ancient building, the interior of the early twentieth century is respected. The collection of paintings is fantastic 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century. There are works by Shishkin and Vasnetsov. Very good and competent guides, all museum staff are friendly and welcoming.

One of the best attractions in the city. From the very entrance you are immersed in the world of beauty and grace. This museum - gallery is a real oasis of art in the city. Exhibitions are held every month. The museum staff is very polite. The only negative is that it works until 17:00.
One of the largest museums in the city, one disadvantage is that you can't take pictures, but it's a very pleasant place, you can devote several hours to viewing paintings and various themed halls!👍👍👍
It's worth a visit. It can be seen immediately that the exhibits are selected with a soul. The exposition is relatively large. The guide told me a very interesting story. There are paintings by famous artists. I did not expect that there is a "mini Tretyakov Gallery" in Semey.
