A normal hotel, without excessive claims to exclusivity. The contingent of vacationers is "simple", without aplomb. The food is normal, you will not stay hungry, the bartenders are not greedy, friendly. Sun beds are only by the pool, there is no sea because the open ocean, wind, waves and merchants. The rooms are not killed, clean. They clean every day and even sculpt all kinds of animals out of towels. They have never done such things in Turkey and Egypt. There is even an animator for aqua aerobics. In general, everything is normal, the main thing is not to wait for a miracle from a standard hotel.

A quiet and peaceful hotel.
Without active animation, not big. It is located on a spit, so you can either get by boat across the river or walk around (30 minutes).
The staff is friendly and smiling, but likes tips. The food is very spicy even for lovers, but there is always unleavened rice or potatoes.
Room service is normal, if you leave 50-100 rupees (15-30₽) each, they make figures out of towels.
There is a small town with shops near the hotel. The rooms are old, but they are maintained in good condition.

The location is very interesting. There is a wide river on one side and an ocean on the other. The room stock is not new. The food is average. There are a lot of spicy dishes and the choice is small. It's quite good for Asia. The staff is friendly. A swimming pool with a bar. The territory is small, but cozy. Fish swim in small channels. There are two all-inclusive bars with good local rum and whiskey.

Overall, I liked the hotel: polite staff, well-groomed territory, good cuisine, nice, clean room. Beautiful, well-maintained beach, clean and fine sand. The only drawback found is the poor operation of the magnetic cards that open the locks in the rooms. I had to go to the reception regularly, sometimes only after opening the doors 2-3 times, to magnetize them, although magnetic cards were specially kept separate from smartphones and other possible sources of magnetic fields. And even the replacement of cards did not affect this, everything was repeated, such an unpleasant aftertaste.

The Centara Ceysands Resort and Spa is located in a special place - on the one hand the coastal strip of the ocean, on the other - the tropical Bentota River with wild animals and birds. Tourists feel like they are on an island. Either the sound of the ocean or the chirping of exotic birds can be heard from the windows of the rooms.
In addition to the excellent location of the hotel - on the first coastline, 150 m from the ocean, I would like to surround a well-groomed protected area, a cozy restaurant with seating on the banks of a tropical river, an excellent evening cafe-bar with live music, cozy spacious rooms with a sophisticated design. The administration and staff were kind and organized comfortable accommodation, good food, safe bathing and rest.
I recommend this hotel to everyone and I will come back here myself.

We rested in Sentara in Sri Lanka (part of the photo does not correspond to reality). The hotel as a whole is not bad, but it does not pull for 5 minutes. We lived on the first floor and it's terrible! The room is damp and humid, if you open the window to the terrace, then the walls do not just become wet, but just streams flow! Even water drips from the ceiling. The accounting system is simply ancient and barely works! They asked for an air dryer, refused (not available) in the air conditioner, this function is also missing. I categorically do not recommend it with children, maybe the situation is better on the higher floors, but definitely not on the ground floor. There is fungus on the walls in the bathroom, and the funniest thing is that the floor is painted with black paint, which then sticks to the sole. The staff is very cool, they solve everything in their power to fix, to do - promptly.

We stayed with my husband and child for 4 years. We took breakfast. A wonderful hotel, I really liked everything. The breakfasts are good, there is always something to choose from, there is European food. Grilled shrimps, cocktails, sandwiches, beer were ordered at the bar - everything is very tasty. Nice spacious rooms. A large bed. We wanted the child to sleep in a separate bed. They asked for it at the reception. Without any problems, they immediately put a bed for the child. A good full-fledged place with laundry. The territory of the hotel is very cozy, clean, and beautiful. Beautiful ocean, wide clean sandy shore. Rescuers are always on duty on the shore. The staff is polite and caring. From the city, the hotel can be reached by boat across the river, which is served as soon as the guests leave. You can also walk along the beach to the city or restaurants. There is live music in the lobby in the evenings, there was a DJ on Saturday. The music is good. There is a swimming pool for adults and there is a children's pool. There is enough space for everyone. There is a children's room, which helped us out a lot in the daytime when the sun was especially active. The sun is generally very active. I recommend going with more than 50 protection. Especially for children.

A great place! 2 adults and 2 children had a rest. We got from the airport quickly (there and on the way back ) the journey took 1.30 . Reading the reviews, I disagree with many, we took a New Year's tour for 12 days
We lived on the ground floor closest to the sea, the door was always open to the room, no crabs were running)))
The air conditioner was working around the clock , there was no humidity . The food is quite modest, but we were comfortable.
For the first time, we didn't take everything on, but breakfast and dinner, which we were very happy about. Near the city, a sea of fruits and restaurants for Russians (menu), ask for Russian-speaking Sri Lankans on the beach, next to the beach, you will not pass by. We saw a lot of things thanks to them, well done.
The pool is warm. The location to the city is good. The staff is friendly.

The hotel is great!
The rooms are quite good (I compare them with the Turkish ozkymak 5*). They don't clean very well, they had to tell them to change towels or bathrobes.
The most interesting thing is that the size of the tip does not affect the quality of cleaning at all, only they will make all sorts of figures out of towels)
The food is great, we regretted that we only took breakfast. Take at least half board, ideally all inclusive. The cuisine in the hotel's restaurant is good and varied. You will have to stomp to the restaurants or take a tuk tuk.
The territories are treated against mosquitoes, they have never been bitten, they bite outside the hotel…
The beach is quiet and secluded because the hotel is located on a "peninsula". There is sand all over the place. There is practically no garbage, the water is clean.
There are absolutely no problems with crossing the river. The free Boat runs around the clock, although they say that every 30 minutes, but they waited 1 time and then 15 minutes because of a heavy downpour at one o'clock in the morning.
In the village, tuktukers offer their services to "help", allegedly they will do "cheaper" for you, in fact the price is the same with them and without them)
Change dollars at the airport, there is the most profitable rate! Take a SIM card there too) we took a dialogue with a 20GB Internet package, it was enough for 2 weeks with more than.

The cuisine is Asian and European, delicious, the choice is large. Oriental scents are everywhere. The pool is clean, towels are provided large, clean, there is a bar in the pool and on the terrace. The ocean view is gorgeous, it's right next to it!!! A boat goes to the city across the river at any time. The service is great, the staff diligently learns Russian. There are shops on site, all souvenirs can be bought, there is an exchange office. Outsiders do not enter the territory, there is a guard. I liked everything!!

I think about this trip every day. Direct flight by Aeroflot. Everything is on time.
There were some adventures on the spot, but we are used to it.
1. From the luggage compartment!!! One of our suitcases disappeared from the airport bus. I pretended that there was no need to joke with me like that, and the suitcase was found after 40 minutes. 2. They put me in a room in which I was not comfortable, and at my request they changed to a better one. 3. The husband stepped on a sea urchin (went for a walk on the rocks away from the beach). I've been pulling out that awful needle for an hour. It's good that there were the right nail scissors.
The pool is good, the restaurant has a lot of edible, everyone is friendly, the ocean is divine.
Bargain in stores. You can't write about excursions - there won't be enough space.

We have been since 8.01.23. The hotel is not bad, but "tired", asks for cosmetic repairs. All-inclusive food for 3, because the local dishes turned out to be inedible for me, all seasoned with a lot of curry! Rooms with a persistent basement smell of dampness are a disaster for allergy sufferers! There is live music in the evenings. The ocean is warm, the sand is super, BUT there are always waves, i.e. you just won't be able to swim! All the children are sitting in the Pool. To get to the hotel, you need to swim across the river on local hotel motorboats for 5 minutes, it does not bother. From fruits- a lot of papaya, mini bananas, pineapples, the rest of the local exotic was sour, I did not like it! My subjective rating is 3-4 stars. Mostly people go to Sri Lanka for nature and surfing!

An excellent, picturesque hotel, located on both sides of the Bentota River. The beach is beautiful, the cuisine is as usual as everywhere else in Sri Lanka. But the view, the smell, the garden and the boat from the reception to the rooms won my heart.

We were on an all-inclusive basis. We checked in at 14:30, went straight to lunch.
The room smelled strongly of dampness, I initially tried to change it. But after the operation of the air conditioner during the day, everything became normal.
Even with the all-inclusive system, there are no snacks. Only for money. They wrote in the reviews that all the food is spicy: I disagree. There are many dishes without pepper. With pepper in clay pots). There are no huge basins with food there. It's not much, but you'll find something to eat: chicken, beef, fish, delicious homemade sauces, 1-2 soups and various side dishes, fruits, desserts, ice cream. I liked the drinks. Alcohol is not bad. And such as cola, sprite, fanta, beer are served in glass bottles at the bar. The menu offers several cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The bar is right in the pool. Beach towels are provided next to the pool. The furniture in the room is tired. The beds are terribly creaky, we were struggling with sleep because of this, because at any rustle the bed makes crunchy sounds. The bed linen and towels are snow-white. Cleaning every day. The TV has 1 Russian channel declared - they couldn't turn it on, just a black screen. The room has a safe, refrigerator, hairdryer, kettle and tea accessories. The ocean is nearby, behind a fence, along which a guard is always on duty and does not allow strangers into the territory. Behind the same fence, a bunch of local dealers are rubbing along the entire territory: shaking shirts for sale, paintings and other things. They offer guided tours. Annoying. They catch any look, they cling.
At the weekend, the hotel was completely packed with Indians. The huge pool was crowded. They parted on Sunday evening.

The hotel is not that 4 stars, it can only match a three-star hotel. So...entrance...via ferry or boat, 2-2.5 hours from the airport. Upon meeting, the hotel staff will offer supposedly the best rooms for an additional fee. Please note that check-in takes place only after 15.00 (or for an additional fee). The all-inclusive system, while the hotel claims 3 restaurants and 2 bars, in fact, there is one restaurant and one bar. Meals: on average 2 side dishes (rice or pasta, less often potatoes) + 2 hot dishes (fish or meat). But everything is in a lot of spices, spicy and with a national cuisine bias. From fruits watermelon , bananas and pineapple..there is no assortment, no mango, no national fruits. We are surprised that there is a tea island, and tea is only in tea bags. The coffee machine didn't work all day, no latte, no cappuccino, nothing. There is no children's food at all. Any order is always recorded on the room number, so you need to check the receipts carefully. Breakfast from 7 to 10, lunch from 12 to 15.00, dinner from 19.00 to 22.00, there are no additional meals during breaks, only for some money, Even with the all-inclusive system. Our room key (card) did not work for several days, it was changed several times, as a result, we managed to change the number. There is no animation in the hotel, additional events - Christmas dinner, pool party, DJ performance - all events for an additional fee. The territory is small, moving literally room-restaurant- pool. I do not recommend the hotel.
