We decided to have a family meal before leaving, and we chose this basement based on excellent reviews. I share my own impressions. We were hoping to visit a cozy Georgian cafe with delicious national food. But, our expectations were dashed… First of all, this basement is difficult to find even with a navigator. Next, at the entrance from the street in front of the door, you will find a persistent smell of cat food. The interior is decorated in the style of a grandfather and a woman who once lived here (and it looks like more than one generation), there is fungus on the walls in the toilet, the plaster is falling off. The menu is handwritten. I should have left at that moment!!!! And it's better not to go in at all! But apparently there was still hope for delicious and fresh food! But she collapsed with the very first dish - eggplant rolls - och. the sauce has a specific taste, it was not even possible to remove the sample and chew, because the taste buds could not withstand this violence, in the end they had to wrap (spit out) this is kneaded into a napkin. Kharcho - I have never seen such a color, I could not chew the meat, there is no question of any taste qualities. Ajapsandali is stupidly acidic, the meat is rubber (in the furnace). Ojahuri with chicken: the chicken was probably the same age as this basement (meat - rubber), the potatoes were overcooked.
The compote is very sweet and fermented. Fried fried eggs with suluguni - salted, with an incomprehensible smell of oil (or whatever it was fried in there ...). Lavash is not the first freshness, and in general, like all dishes. The greens used to season the dishes are sluggish and their appearance further detracts from the first impression of serving, not to mention the taste... All the dishes are warmed, and fried in addition, it is not clear on something smelly. As a result, the whole atmosphere is squeamish.
As a result, some of the dishes were asked to be removed from the table. We have brought a bill for 95 GEL! And they tried to explain to us that we don't understand food! We FLEW out of this basement into the fresh air, because there was absolutely no desire to be there anymore!!! Hungry, 95 lari empty, but happy to be out of this horror!!!!! We hope that our health will be fine! I would like to note that this is the first time we have been to Georgia and we are leaving Tiflis with such unpleasant impressions....
Guys, if you were planning to eat in this basement, forget it! Go to neat new establishments!
A stylish and cozy place. You won't accidentally come across it from the street, they pass it by word of mouth or through reviews on the Internet.)))
The price level is average lower, the taste of food is average high.
The room is not large, we did not book, and immediately after arriving in Tbilisi we went there with the hope of having dinner. When all the seats were occupied, they asked the owner - he recognized something, said to wait a little. After 7-10 minutes, a table was vacated. During our visit, 2 so many were occupied by local Georgians, the rest by tourists - both Russian-speaking and English-speaking. Which indicates the great popularity of the institution. There was 1 overlap: I asked for otjakhuri to be served without bell pepper, as a result they brought it with bell pepper, I had to clean it myself since I am allergic to it. The waiter apologized in the end.
As a result, I give a five to the institution, since overlays can happen at all)))
P.S. white wine is delicious!!!
Honestly, the kitchen and service are so-so. We were surprised, not for the better. Because this place is in the top 5 in Tbilisi.
We didn 't like all the dishes we took . The soup with olives is generally very strange. Vegetable stew (something like that, I don't remember the name), was generally sour , either the owner or the manager (a young guy) tried it and said it was normal. Therefore, we will not remove it from the account (as he said) in general, I would not go there anymore. And yes, the menu is hand-written there and when we ordered the pie. Tea was brought to us, and they said there was no pie. So we wouldn't have ordered tea then either…
