The service was really unorganized, and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The place, buses, and drivers were all pretty unhygienic. Before buying our tickets, we told the driver twice that we were going to Chambarak. After we got our tickets and came back, the driver suddenly said there was only one seat left and claimed he thought we were heading to Dilijan, even though we were clear about our destination. He then suggested we somehow squeeze into the one remaining seat in the back, which was impossible for two adults on a two-hour ride. Thankfully, one of the passengers offered me a foldable chair, so I took it because we were short on time and didn’t want to hold everyone up.
To make things even worse, as they had oversold the tickets, another passenger had to give up her seat to an elderly person at one of the stops and take a foldable chair herself, somehow squeezing into an already packed bus.
Overall, it was a terrible experience.
July 9 2023 EDIT: These bus drivers and workers are THIEVES. Today I used my bag to save a seat in 651 to go to Dilijan, and went to a store to buy some food. Later, when I returned, the bus drivers put my bag into the office. I picked up my bag realizing that my AirPod Pro inside is gone. It stayed in the bus station for until 5pm, seems like the thief is trying to sell it. DO NOT TAKE THOSE MINIBUSES UNLESS NECESSARY.
The worst thing about the public transportation in Armenia is that the lack of transparency of the information. It is really frustrating. Don’t believe in the Yandex map schedule. Here is the bus schedule for Dilijan. Leaves 10:00 12:00 14:00 16:00 and 17:30. You’re welcome.
Once a landmark of Yerevan, an architectural monument of the late Armenian modernism, the place is now rundown and very poorly maintained. The the bare minimum of services are provided; no card payments.
The masterpiece building of the ingenious architect Armen Agalyan is the Northern Bus Station of Yerevan
The grandiose building in the style of socialist modernism was erected in the 70s of the last century, but in the crisis years it actually turned into a giant abandoned building
From here, as minibuses fill up, they go to different cities of Armenia, there is even a functioning ticket office, security and administration inside, but the building itself is frighteningly empty and is gradually being destroyed
The building of the Northern Bus Station is open, it is completely legal to enter it and walk through large-scale waiting rooms and passages, but the impression of visiting remains the darkest…
It's a very beautiful building. The interior is almost completely empty and you can walk freely. There is one person at the ticket office for the entire bus station
I'll say one thing – it's a pity... It's a pity to see everything in such a state. I often go to Ijevan and every time I see such a sad picture: everything is abandoned and no one needs it. It's cold in winter, dress warmer, because unfortunately the building is not heated. The staff is ordinary, there is nothing to say. As for the toilet, of course yes... A hole in the floor. It is unpleasant that the place is in this form, the only thing that pleases is a very beautiful bus station building. There is no timetable as such, but I got it from the drivers. There was a case: at 14:00 we had to leave Ijevan, it was only one o'clock in the afternoon and we moved out, since then I have been arriving an hour and a half before the departure of my route. There is nothing more to add. Who needs here is the timetable:
From Yerevan: 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17:30, The Northern bus station
From Ijevan: 9, 10, 12, 14, 15:30, 17, ( The final one in the District Committee)
Schedule according to the cashier:
Vanadzor departure every day at 14:00
Martuni every hour starting at 10:00
Aigut and Chambarak every day at 11:00
They couldn't say anything about the return trip
The architecture is fierish, the bambils at the entrance are aggressive and annoying
Purely functional and applied value - from there we went to Martuni and Dilijan, you can find a taxi to Sevan cheaper than by advertisements or in a tour agency. As it is, there is a true feeling that the best times are in the past.
An interesting architectural object of the 70s or 80s of the last century. It is a pity that it does not function. From there, old gazelles leave for Dilijan, Sevan, etc. If you decide to take a taxi there, be prepared that you will be deceived. Even if you and the driver agree on everything, he can say that this did not happen and even begin to threaten that he will now take you to his friends. The old gazelle is already better.
A well-built railway station in the Union. It is a pity that it is now in a semi-abandoned state. From here you can buy a bus ticket to Sevan-Dilijan at an affordable price (up to 1500 amd)
The French architect was delighted with this place! We were glad to be here. An empty, but still preserved, Soviet railway station. The passages are not closed, you can walk along it. Minibuses go from here to Dilijan for 1000 drams. It's a pity that I couldn't find the schedule anywhere on the Internet in advance. But it is better to buy a ticket in advance. There are not enough places in the season. The ticket office is open from 12 to 13:00 at lunch. Many drivers of cars nearby are ready to bring for 2500 per person. You can bargain cheaper on occasion.
I do not know if they are preparing for major repairs there, or if they even want to demolish this building, but it is in very poor condition. In fact, the ticket office has buses and minibuses running as expected. But that's it. By the way, it is not expensive to go from there to Sevan and Dilijan.
The legacy of Soviet times, nostalgia. A huge empty two-storey building, which now has one or two cash register windows on the ground floor, and a toilet on the second...
Definitely, all bus stations in Yerevan are branches of hell on earth. You buy a ticket, the cashier says that the minibus leaves at 12. As a result, you sit for another 2.5 hours just waiting for the driver to assemble a full bus and deign to go at least at 14.30. The station is abandoned. The toilet at the train station is a hole in the floor. For locals, this level of service is the norm, so no one does anything. If you freeze while waiting for a minibus, then there is nowhere to wait, since the building is not heated and it is cold there, as well as on the street. A terrible place. Do I want to put 0? Yes, definitely, it's a pity that the minimum score is 1.
There are taxi drivers hanging out at the station who will pester you and tell you their prices for the trip, so even if you agree on the price on the spot, it is not final, as they will also come to you for parking and for waiting and for everything in the world they will want to throw.
The train station is like a train station. Copes with its task. If you are coming here by taxi, clearly tell the taxi driver which bus station you need (apparently there are several in Yerevan) Minibuses and minibuses mainly run. We haven't seen any big buses.Do not rush to buy minibus tickets right away. After all, there are taxi drivers who recruit passengers for basic long-distance trips at a price slightly more expensive than a minibus. The car is full, let's go.. This was also the case in our case on the Yerevan-Dilijan route.
It's a great project. Very interesting architectural solutions. However, the tower looks like a crematorium chimney. But these are the details. It's a pity that it doesn't really work
A remote place. But there's a city bus going there. Minibuses leave from this place for Sevan and Dilijan. There is only ticket sales at the station, there is nothing else
The institution (we are talking exclusively about the building) is a fairly spacious and old structure, which, if repaired and used, can become a place that is pleasant to visit.
There is no timetable anywhere, calls are not answered. I found him at the Dilijan bus station, have a nice rest!
(On the left from Dilijan to Yerevan, on the right - from Yerevan to Dilijan)
A minibus to Dilijan costs 1000 drams. The minibus is an old yellow gazelle. Tickets are sold in the bus station building. We paid once in a minibus, but it's not a fact that there will be a place. Local bombers offer to drive by car for 2500 drams from the nose, they recruit four people.
The bus station is a huge old abandoned old building. There is only a nook with a cash register and dirty toilets with holes in the floor and partitions on the second floor. The building inside is atmospheric and majestic. People take photos and hold photo shoots.
Be vigilant, the cashier at the bus station is in cahoots with taxi drivers!!! He says there are no minibuses. Thus, they breed foreigners for money, offering to take a taxi instead of a minibus. The condition of the bus station itself is terrible.
To date, the condition of the minibuses is good, not killed (apparently they were replaced). It is better to buy a ticket in advance, because immediately before the flight there may already be no empty seats.
The journey time is about 1.5 hours.
For that price, great!
Architecture is 100 out of 10, in order to understand something and leave - 2/10, it is possible, but with difficulty. The minibus leaves due to fullness, they speak only Armenian, no information in other languages.
Minibuses in the direction of Dilijan are dead old gazelles that are not sure that they will get there. It is better to look for alternative transport such as railway.
All the way the minibus was stalled. We drove 30-40 km / h because of this, the travel time increased by 2 times!!
The station itself is an old Soviet semi-empty building with insufficient places to wait. There is a snack stall. Old paper tickets at the ticket office.
Not very convenient. At the ticket office, when trying to buy a ticket in the opposite direction, they refused, without saying that there were simply no tickets. There was a surprise waiting at the place of arrival.
It is a shame to have such a bus station in the capital

5 stars just because of the prices, they are really funny.
but the level of service and transport is simply zero. Armenia needs to address this issue. people should not travel between cities on 30-year-old gazelles without a condom
