The obelisk was erected at the site of the death of a young Soviet partisan who fought in the ranks of the Garibaldi partisans, who heroically died covering the retreat of the partisans and local residents into the depths of the mountains.
He died 10 days before his 19th birthday.
The obelisk is located in the mountains of Secciano, San Pancrazio, Cavrilla, province of Arezzo.
On October 25, 2020, as part of the international All-Russian action "Garden of Memory", an Oak tree dedicated to the young Soviet Garibaldi guerrilla was planted.
