Hello! We rested in new Athos for a couple of weeks, and this Tower shone from the beach and the embankment in the evenings, it was very beautiful and of course you have to visit it. From the outside, she is not far away but!! This is a pure point of view! As a result, we decided to climb as close as possible by car and did not regret a single gram. Next to the road to the observation deck there is a small parking lot where you can park. Upon arrival, there is not a large stall where you will be charged for parking and for passage to the observation deck, 200 rubles for parking and 300 for passage. After paying for the passage, here it is, the road minus 500 calories! Heart rate increases! And increase muscle tone! The road goes in a serpentine uphill, the distance can be from 1 km more or less. There is a sharp road to the top at the entrance to the left side of the mountain, it is much shorter but more dangerous and more difficult. It's better for everyone to go down it than to go up. Having climbed the tower, I do not want to leave the word at all! The beauty that the eyes greedily eat and cannot get enough of, on the one hand the mountains, on the other the sea. It's sooo beautiful in good weather. We sat there for at least 40 minutes, rested and watched. They called by video link, showed their relatives and did not regret that they went up there. It's beautiful there. There will be an opportunity to come up for sure!!

In winter, it is quiet and peaceful here, there are no crowds, everything is very beautiful and it is clear that people work there and do a lot for good service. Bring food for local cats and dog beggars, but you don't need to carry water with you - there will be a gorgeous ancient well with very tasty water upstairs!

The beautiful location of this site and the fortress. At the height, you will be greeted by an employee of a small church and an amazing spring with drinking water. There are enough viewing platforms, each of them offers its own view: the city, the sea, the villages, and of course the Caucasian Ridge. There are benches and trash cans on the ascent and descent.
I recommend climbing slowly in summer, take enough water with you. Don't throw garbage! Take care of nature.

There is a chapel in the fortress, or as they say a place of power, it is destroyed, only the core remains intact in it. There are icons there, you can put a candle there. Also, near the chapel there is an inexhaustible well with crystal clear water on a high mountain in the mountain, no one has been able to explain this phenomenon. The view from the observation deck is simply bombastic.

If you want to look at Abkhazia from above, it is definitely worth overcoming the path that awaits you when climbing the fortress and the peak itself. There is a well with drinking water and a menacing man who scolds if they pour water next to the well. There are residual walls of some church, temple, I don't know, without a roof, but here you can see a whole collection of different images and put a candle. The view is gorgeous, especially in sunny weather. I do not recommend it with children under 7 years old, you will carry it on yourself.

A beautiful place with picturesque views of nature, mountains and the sea. Climbing the mountain is not close, I recommend to stock up on water. There is also a well with water on the top, open to all comers, but you need to take a bottle of water. Although hiking is not easy even for many people who are not overweight, it is worth visiting the place! The view of the mountains, the sea and the whole of New Athos is unique! Someone advises to come up here early in the morning, due to the relative cold, but... This advice is unacceptable for those who want to take great pictures of the surrounding area. The solar haze from the sun rising in the east will make the pictures not very successful. The best photos will be taken when the Sun has already passed the zenith and will slowly tilt to the west. That's when the golden domes of the New Athos monastery will sparkle and the overall picture will be juicy and contrasting! So you don't want to, but you have to come up here in the afternoon. Or you can stay here from the morning until the afternoon. The picturesque ruins of this really ancient "Hogwarts" can be explored inside and out during this time. Fortunately, it is always possible to find a saving shadow from the walls. Get there, you won't regret it!

It should be borne in mind that the road is very bad and you need to go down before sunset, otherwise there is a chance to break your legs. They drank water from the well, they didn't get poisoned.
