Odessa Marine Station is one of those places in Odessa where I have always been happy to come for a walk. It is always more or less clean, well-groomed and beautiful here. In the summer, there are a lot of tourists and guests here, now everything is destroyed and the facade is destroyed:(

Odessa Maritime Station is the business card of the city, the most modern and spacious seaport in the country, the equipment and design of which is not inferior to the best passenger terminals in Europe. The construction of the marine station was completed in 1968, and its reconstruction took place in 1993. Today, the complex is an improved building made of glass and metal. The annual passenger traffic reaches 4 million people. There are many international cruise liners and ships up to 272 meters long moored on both sides of the embankment. Until 1968, the function of the marine station was performed by a nondescript two-story building. Due to the growth of passenger traffic, the need for the construction of a new building with a large capacity also grew. The first projects appeared in the early 1950s. These were pompous buildings in the style of the Stalinist Empire, which were quickly abandoned. The architecture of subsequent projects was more restrained, with a bias towards constructivism and functionalism. As a result, the project of architects V. P. Golovin and V. K. Kremlyakov was chosen. In 1968, the construction of the marine station was completed. For the first time after construction, the renovated marina continued to receive both passenger and cargo ships. The port cranes and the railway have been preserved. In addition to the station itself, an overpass was also built over the railway and an entrance pavilion opposite the Potemkin Stairs, which was now duplicated by an escalator. In this form, the Odessa marine station has existed for more than 30 years. Until 1994, the building underwent major repairs, as a result of which the exterior decoration and glazing were completely replaced, the internal area of the station was increased, as well as a concert and exhibition hall and a yacht club were equipped. In the early 2000s, a multi-storey hotel was built nearby, which became a new neighborhood dominant. Later, the territory of the station was overgrown with other, sometimes ambiguous, structures and sculptures. In 2017, the station underwent reconstruction again, a distinctive feature of which was the unique kinetic facade. For its installation, the old inclined glazing had to be completely dismantled. The new structure is located in the front part of the building and consists of 5,000 movable panels that change their position under the influence of the wind. The new facade has become only the first stage of a large-scale reconstruction, major repairs of the forecourt, concert and exhibition hall and a turning circle for cars are also planned.

I really liked it. The beautiful exterior is made in the form of a ship. Unfortunately, I haven't been inside, I can't say anything. There are a lot of people around.

A very beautiful seaport, spacious, bright and clean inside. There are not many people, everything is calm. There are many different ships, barges, boats, yachts, you can walk around and see. There is an entertainment area in the form of a stage where a musical program takes place. You can take pictures with the monument "pearls by the sea" and the installation "ODESSA", as well as other semantic monuments. There are many offers for boat trips, they are inexpensive, and the demand for them is great, sometimes you will have to wait in line. Overall, a beautiful, picturesque place.

Of course, I don't remember the station itself, but the ships at the pier. Each ship is bigger than the other, and then I saw an incredibly large Costa on the other side of the pier. And I probably think correctly that it is the ships that are the main decoration of the seaport.
