Well, it's certainly not a four. That's a good two. Not even three stars.
The hotel is located within walking distance from the car and railway station on the edge of the old town. There is renovation going on around now, so there are ruins and construction sites everywhere. I took a "small double room. The room is really small on the third floor, the Windows overlook the wall so there is no "admiring the roofs of old Riga", The carpet on the floor is dirty, besides, there was a metal piece of a knight's knife blade lying near the bed ((. The bed is wide but low. The linen and towels are white and clean. But the pillows (4 pcs) are already beaten by life. The bathroom has a prehistoric shower cabin. It's hard to fit in there, although the water pressure is good and there is an electric towel rail-this is a plus. Please note-there is no "cross" in the sink of the washbasin, it is easy to drop something there. There is a mini-refrigerator. A teapot and small cups without saucers. Alas, alas, only the most advanced hotels understand. that coffee cups are not needed in the room, large mugs are needed. Tea, sugar and instant coffee are cheap. There is also a large ironing board and iron, and a spare blanket. Towels are cleaned and changed upon request. Breakfast is average, the same thing every day, The main elevator did not work all three days, I had to use a small additional one. The staff is polite, but I haven't had much contact with them. There are no shops nearby, there is a rimi express in the old town, it takes 7 minutes to walk to it
A cozy hotel in old Riga. Very convenient location, near the bus station and railway station. At the same time, you are in the old town. Friendly staff. The rooms are clean. A good European breakfast.
I stayed at this hotel in the summer of 2019. Great location. I left the hotel and immediately found myself in the old town, which is what you need for a tourist who has arrived in Riga.
The room was not large in size, but it created a good comfort for the period of stay.
The breakfasts are very good. In principle, I was satisfied with everything.
The optimal price-quality ratio for the historical center. Riga is a cool city!
I was at the Old Riga hotel from December 31, 2019 to January 2, 2020, the room is small in a new building on the 3rd floor, but the hotel in the old town (VecRiga) is everywhere on foot and everything is nearby. The staff has no complaints at all. Breakfast in the morning (buffet), the first day came to an end, there was still enough food, on the second day there were champagne glasses early, but after the new year I didn't really want to.
Advantages:
The center of the old town, helpful staff.
Disadvantages:
I didn't see, except for one small thing, a crossbar on the ceiling of the corridor near the room, but even with my height, I "diverged" from it normally.

A very cozy hotel in the center of the old town. The staff is polite and always ready to help. They speak Russian. The room is clean, quiet and comfortable. Towels are cleaned and changed every day.
Number to number is different. Maybe there were better rooms, but apparently we didn't get it. We lived as a family, in a three-bed room. The room is very small. Poor sound insulation. The towels are the color of the pie saleswoman's bathrobe. The rest, reception, breakfasts, restaurant, employees, for five points. A week later we lived in Riga, in another hotel of this chain, everything was at 5.
They did not return the money (they did not even respond) when the Latvian Government declared an emergency and canceled air travel. We booked this hotel long before the virus. Such situations characterize the attitude towards guests. I do not recommend the Rixwell Old Riga Palace Hotel. Even the managers Booking.com They didn't answer anything.
Very friendly attitude towards tourists. We arrived by night bus and were immediately checked in without extra charge, presented with a bottle of champagne. Close to the center and the bus station, wonderful staff, decent breakfast, spacious room. They put an extra bed for a 10-year-old child and there is still room left. We recommend it to everyone.
