The family of Archimandrite Grigory Matveevich Rebeza lived in this house in the 1930s. Grigory Matveyevich Rebeza (ordained as Fr. Gennady) was born in 1872 in the village of Yankulovo, Vinnytsia district, Podolsk province, into a family of middle peasants Matvey Grigoryevich and Solomonia Ignatievna. Ukrainian. Non-partisan. Archimandrite Gennady was arrested four times on charges of "anti-Soviet activities": in 1927, 1932, 1936 and 1937. On December 1, 1937, the troika at the NKVD in the East Kazakhstan region decided to shoot Grigory Matveevich Rebeza. The next day, the sentence was carried out. The priest is buried in an unmarked grave.
