Due to the flight delay, flu arystan accommodated us at the Otrar Hotel. Clean, cozy, friendly staff. The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Breakfast : buffet . Fruits, juices, tea, coffee, slicing, porridge, etc. Are small, but the choice is for every taste. Lunch, dinner - I will not say that it is very tasty - usually, but you can eat. The overall impression is good.
The location is convenient: near the park, Almaty Arbat, green market, theater and other interesting places for walking and relaxing. I recommend.
In general, expectations converge, when you arrive, you teleport back many years.
pluses
Excellent location of the hotel
The room is clean enough
Quite decent breakfasts
Wifi works well
Polite girls at the reception
minuses
The noise starts from 8-9 am
There is something similar to cleaning in the room, it was done only on the 4th day
In my room, to turn on the hot water, I had to turn on two taps so that the water would run
There is no tea/water in the room, there is a cooler in the hallway, but there is no container except a glass to collect water
Overall, a good hotel, clean, quiet. it hovered somewhere in the period about 20 years ago. The keys to the room with a bomb, as I saw it, I almost shed tears)) It is in urgent need of updating. Not only physically, but also mentally. At breakfast, instead of a coffee machine, there is a can of instant coffee. There are clearly not enough spoons for dishes (so that the sausages would not be in the sauce from the chicken. This is information for the staff).
Nothing extra works, coffee, beer - there is nowhere to buy at the hotel. I lived on the 2nd floor, where according to the plan there should be a night bar, but, alas, it does not work.
The location is central. It is convenient to walk to all places.
You can stop, of course. But I would like more modern services). I hope you will improve!
Otrar or 1 Intourist Hotel in Soviet times, which hosted foreign tourists from all over the world. And when I was a child, next to a small park and a running stream, I ran happy there, foreigners treated me to chewing gum and some other small gifts. There was no limit to happiness, now I'm 50, I still live near this hotel, only now I don't run and no one treats me at all...
The hotel from the old, still Soviet foundation, is the coolest in all times! Now, of course, she is far from ultra-modern business hotels, but everything is very decent, clean, the linen is new, the repairman in the rooms is fresh, the restaurant at the hotel is open. But the most important trump card is its location - the old center, the park opposite, good transport accessibility. Overall solid 4
We were at the hotel at the end of August. We stopped by at night, we were warned at the reception in advance. Everything is clean, the staff is polite. But the furniture in the rooms is old. The breakfasts are very tasty, the buffet, the assortment is large.
I recommend. But I give it 4 stars.
The room stock is old: the carpet is stained, the furniture is placed randomly around the room, the bed is short and low, the pillow is one
There are only two sockets in the room, one directly above the head by the bed, the plug falls out of the second, nothing can be charged.
For some reason, an empty refrigerator is turned on, which buzzes all night.
The bathroom is old, the hot water was only in the evening after 10-15 minutes of waiting.
There is no drinking or tea set in the room.
Cleaning was not carried out for 2 days of stay, the shower gel was not replenished.
The breakfasts are average.
There are no 4 stars even nearby.
Excellent hotel, polite staff! Fresh renovation, albeit of the Soviet model! Everything is clean and tidy! The location is generally perfect! 28 Panfilovtsev Park is opposite! By the way, a reliable hotel, 6.7 points of the earthquake in January 24 withstood with a bang 😁
Finally got my hands on it and I'll leave my review!
Positive:
There are always rooms;
Nice and comfortable bed;
Pleasant staff;
Convenient location;
Breakfast;
Minuses:
Old furniture that hasn't been updated for probably 10 years;
Plumbing and bathroom well, it does not pull to the level of the stars of this hotel;
Rooms are rarely cleaned;
Positive. It is located in a pleasant part of the city. Nearby there is a beautiful pedestrian Tulebaev street, there are many restaurants around where you can eat, the metro is within walking distance.
The staff is generally friendly.
Breakfast for three. A buffet, but not everything is delicious.
Clean bed linen, towels.
Very affordable price.
Minuses. Everything is old. The carpet is dirty, the furniture has most likely not been changed since the opening. An old CRT TV (it's not clear why you should keep it at all). The room smells like some kind of antiquity or something. The air conditioner is an old unit inserted into the window.
The tiniest thing is the room is cold. I came in the middle of October - it's already cold outside at night, but they haven't given me heating yet. It was downright cold in the room. And the cold came not so much from the window as from all the walls - literally everything was cold. The staff couldn't do anything about it. As a result, I had to buy a heater.
The service is good, the food is monotonous, but there is a lot to choose from, there is no cleaning in the room, the bed is clean, towels are changed regularly
Nice, quiet hotel. Remnants of Soviet luxury! The furniture is a bit old, but, because it was made qualitatively in the USSR, it still needs to be served and served
The hotel is located in the center. The rooms are small, the furniture is old. I was very impressed by the cafe in the hotel. It's worth staying in it just for the sake of it.
The furniture is old, the rooms smell of tired repairs and previous tenants, the air conditioner is built into the window and works poorly. When it's 40 degrees outside, it's a so-so story. WiFi is only available at the reception.
OTRAR Hotel is located in the very center of Almaty, near the park area, business and shopping centers, Akbota amusement park and the city zoo, a 5-minute walk from Zhibek Zholy Metro station, a 20-minute drive to the airport and 5 minutes from the railway station-2. The hotel is ready to welcome more than 200 guests at any time in 161 comfortable rooms equipped with air conditioning, bathroom, hair dryers, international telephone, satellite TV, refrigerator, mini-bar, deposit boxes.WiFi, gym - free of charge.
The price for a room starts from 26,000
A good Soviet hotel (former Intourist) - everything is soundly and soundly created, can still be considered 4+ stars: halls, sofas, dining room - all on a grand scale. The dome of the dining room is like a yurt, all decorated and covered with rich carpets. Quiet, calm, polite staff, a place in the center near the park is just super! Everything is in good working condition. For those who remember and appreciate the USSR, it is especially pleasant that the national heritage has been preserved. In general, in Alma-Ata, kind people are very careful about everything.
A good hotel, polite reception, excellent view from the window (only the noise of the road is heard), I chose a hotel closer to the place of passing the exam.
An old battered hotel, breathing like hell. The service is the same. But the most unpleasant thing was that a hair was found in the breakfast food and there was also a hair on the table.
Although the room was called a business, I did not find a chair and a desk in it
For 4 days they never cleaned, did not change towels, did not update toiletries
You couldn't breathe on a charger plugged into an outlet, otherwise it just fell out :-(
Well, the rest is a wonderful hotel
Good location, quiet, comfort
The rooms are standard, everything is very ancient, but you can live, the breakfasts are monotonous, sufficient, the air conditioners in the rooms are old and sooo noisy. The hotel is such an old Soviet model with an oriental flavor
Positive: 1. nice woman at the reception. Polite, helped with the placement. 2. Breakfast for such a room rate is normal.
Minuses: an old hotel, a disgusting room, an old TV, an outlet and a switch over his head, a pillow at night constantly turned on the light.
The hotel is very, very tired. It's just falling apart. Although it can be seen from the materials that the repair was done in the early noughties. Poorly cleaned. The sink was not washed. Nevertheless, the architecture is not bad. Marble floors, foyer on each floor. The breakfasts are passable . The disadvantage is a very high price: 8 thousand rubles per day! This is an exorbitant amount for a hotel, especially one like this.
A three-star hotel. The friendly staff is the only highlight of this hotel. Very old. The rooms are cramped and crammed with Soviet furniture. There is not even a minimum set for living (water, kettle, toothbrushes). We had to stay for one night, so we survived these disadvantages, but I do not advise you to stop by for a few days
In general, it's not bad, there is no drinking water in the rooms, you need to go into the corridor and it's a little dusty, the bed is clean, the bathroom is clean, everything is there, the breakfast is good, the dining room is interesting in a national style
I came to the city for the first time, stayed in a hotel nearby. I decided to come here to see the accommodation option for the next visit.
From the threshold, I was told that everything is forbidden - you can't look at it (even in the lobby in the reception area), the authorities forbid it, you can't stay, you had to leave) naturally, the desire to stay here disappeared instantly, maybe it's for the best)
Soviet-style plates. The hair dryer in the rooms does not work everywhere, the sockets are not at every bed, the TV is unlikely to work. The elevator is modern. The breakfast is delicious. If you stop in Almaty for work and for a couple of days, then it will go
The hotel certainly leaves much to be desired.The furniture is old, the TV does not work, the rooms are smoky.Cleaning is not done from the word "at all".Only for breakfast I put 2 stars.
To begin with: 4 stars are not clear how they were obtained. The repair was carried out more than 30 years ago, a lot of things are falling off, plumbing needs to be replaced. Of course, hot water is good, but when it flows with boiling water from both taps during the washing process, you begin to appreciate cold water more. I do not recommend the hotel
The hotel is terrible. The rooms are remnants of former Soviet luxury, which have turned into dust-smelling junk and which have not even tried to bring back to normal.
It started with the fact that they did not meet halfway and did not settle before the scheduled 14:00. The reason is that the rooms are not ready. Everything would be OK if it wasn't for the way it was presented. In fact, the girl Aigul at the reception (shift 10.10) just wanted a tip, because:
1. right before my eyes, another person, a loner, was settled (it doesn't look like it was a room of another class). When I immediately came up after him and asked to inquire about the readiness of my room, the employee immediately rudely replied that she was not ready. I called at 13:55 (circus).
2. When I entered the room, it was clearly not prepared (more on this below).
I did not tip out of principle. Pathos is acceptable when it is justified, but here it is just a disgrace.
Everything in the room is covered with dust and smells of antiquity. The walls are painted unevenly, with furniture coming in. The furniture is very old. I have never seen such sockets at all - these are probably the very first sockets in the world. There are just two holes in the plastic, there is not even a recess for a fork. Naturally, the fork falls out.
The TV of the 90s. The air conditioner is even more ancient - when it was turned on, dust and plaster flew out of it. The curtain falls off the baguette. The restroom is acceptable against the background of everything else.
Next, not really about the hotel, but be prepared for the neighborhood of Asian guests/students who yell every night, smoke in the rooms (!), go out on the roof of the canopy (room on the second floor), dry clothes on the same roof.
The room is cleaned every 3-4 days.
The breakfast buffet is acceptable. There were no problems with WiFi. It's enough for surfing, YouTube at 720p will also pull.
Conclusion.
Staying in this hotel is clearly not worth the money and nerves spent. I advise you to choose another place within a radius of two kilometers (m. Zhibek Zholy, Almaly). All the most beautiful places are nearby, it makes no sense to live close to Panfilov Park.
The room stock is very old. And the price has gone up for some reason. Although for SUCH rooms they have a red price of 10-12 thousand tenge, not 19,000. The kitchen is open until lunch, the bar does not work. There is zero food in the hotel itself, if you rented a room in the evening upon arrival, then be ready to order food through delivery
A disgusting hotel. The first night, my brother and I were robbed while we were sleeping. The guards who were there on the 1st floor were also asleep. The robber calmly entered the hotel, walked through all the floors checking all the rooms, whether they were closed. Then he calmly came to us, rummaged through our belongings, took a backpack with cash in the amount of $ 9,000 and 500,000 tenge and calmly left the hotel. Naturally, the guards didn't even see anything because they were sleeping recklessly. The reception didn't look at anything either, and it's not their task. Naturally, we called the police and they tracked everything on the cameras. The robber calmly walked all the floors from room to room.
And the management of the hotel did not even think of a banal apology and somehow make amends for this incident. This is a complete scribe. The police also came in some shock from the management of the hotel. To a reasonable question, if the robber had been armed and had done something to the guests, they only said: "Well, he didn't do it." I will never recommend this hotel to anyone, but if I had the opportunity and time, I would stand next to the entrance and tell everyone this story so that no one would even think of going there.
It's a pity there is no negative assessment.
And of course we will file a lawsuit against the hotel.
A very old hotel:
broken furniture, air conditioning (built into the window) does not work (it blows very noisily, but does not cool), water barely flows, plumbing from the 90s, room cleaning needs to be begged at the reception.
The hotel? This is not a hotel. Two stars is a stretch! It's such a terrible scoop, horror! The rooms are old, the floors creak, the balcony barely closes, it's cold, the toilet brush is broken, there are no curtains in the bathroom, the bedside tables are skewed, no bathrobes or slippers, the hair dryer does not work, there is no cup for brushes, there are no hangers in the closet.... You can continue indefinitely. The only thing is that the breakfast is not varied, but everything seems to be delicious.
The room is good, the food was delicious thanks to the restaurant. The room is warm, the only thing is that they did not find a remote control from the TV and you will not call the prescription, the phone does not work. As it is, everything is fine.
I added a detailed review to 2 GIS . Strangely enough, I liked this hotel more than the apartment I rented in booking. Everything was simple and clear here . Clean and calm . And this is the center . We walked around everything . The photos are also in 2 GIS. I 'm sorry , I 've already added and deleted everything there . I described everything in detail there
