Due to the flight delay, flu arystan accommodated us at the Otrar Hotel. Clean, cozy, friendly staff. The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Breakfast : buffet . Fruits, juices, tea, coffee, slicing, porridge, etc. Are small, but the choice is for every taste. Lunch, dinner - I will not say that it is very tasty - usually, but you can eat. The overall impression is good.
The location is convenient: near the park, Almaty Arbat, green market, theater and other interesting places for walking and relaxing. I recommend.
Very good location, park, museums, shops, everything within walking distance, friendly staff, and the restaurant in general is a fairy tale, in the form of a Kazakh yurt, lots of light, warmth and hospitality! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take photos.
I lived in this hotel for the first days of my stay in Alma Ata. Thank you, my dears, for the reception! For delicious breakfasts! For an iron with ironing board! For helping me fasten my dress to work! For your good nature and attitude! I'll never forget it.
The hotel is located in an ideal location! Opposite is the 28 Panfilovtsev Park with the eternal flame and the om monument! These people in Khimki near Moscow defended the city from fascist dishonor! It's a premium street with boutiques and restaurants, everything is there!
In general, expectations converge, when you arrive, you teleport back many years.
pluses
Excellent location of the hotel
The room is clean enough
Quite decent breakfasts
Wifi works well
Polite girls at the reception
minuses
The noise starts from 8-9 am
There is something similar to cleaning in the room, it was done only on the 4th day
In my room, to turn on the hot water, I had to turn on two taps so that the water would run
There is no tea/water in the room, there is a cooler in the hallway, but there is no container except a glass to collect water
It's a bit Soviet-style, but it's a very pleasant style, with an oriental twist. in general, I liked it. I also recommend
28 Panfilovtsev Park opposite the hotel. one of the main attractions of the city! awesome park. The area itself is also gorgeous
The hotel has a very good location and a view of the park from the window. It's cozy in its own way, and the old hotels have some charm - keys instead of magnetic cards, and the furniture is lacquered. The only thing is that the air conditioner is running noisily
There is no photo, I will add a video from the balcony)
Overall, a good hotel, clean, quiet. it hovered somewhere in the period about 20 years ago. The keys to the room with a bomb, as I saw it, I almost shed tears)) It is in urgent need of updating. Not only physically, but also mentally. At breakfast, instead of a coffee machine, there is a can of instant coffee. There are clearly not enough spoons for dishes (so that the sausages would not be in the sauce from the chicken. This is information for the staff).
Nothing extra works, coffee, beer - there is nowhere to buy at the hotel. I lived on the 2nd floor, where according to the plan there should be a night bar, but, alas, it does not work.
The location is central. It is convenient to walk to all places.
You can stop, of course. But I would like more modern services). I hope you will improve!
I think it's expensive for such a room.
It says that breakfast is included, there was no breakfast, no questions were answered, and plus, while I was still sleeping in the morning, they tried to enter my room without knocking, without warning, and without permission.. they already opened the door with their key, well, I additionally secured it from above, But as you know, they would have opened it calmly And entered, perhaps the thieves might have tried to steal something... They came into my room without permission, without warning , without even knocking ... Well, I was there...
A very old, dusty hotel. The room was very dusty, and they didn't even go in to clean up the trash for the 2nd day. There is no water bottle in the room. I didn't find a water cooler on the floor. There is only one glass in the room, and there is no kettle or cups. The toilet slammed shut at night, I had to go to the reception to open it. The breakfast is bad. Instant coffee!!! If possible, it is better to choose another hotel.
Otrar or 1 Intourist Hotel in Soviet times, which hosted foreign tourists from all over the world. And when I was a child, next to a small park and a running stream, I ran happy there, foreigners treated me to chewing gum and some other small gifts. There was no limit to happiness, now I'm 50, I still live near this hotel, only now I don't run and no one treats me at all...
It's a very old hotel, everything is ancient. Even the TV from the 90s. The feeling of dust all the time. There are no bottles of water in the room, there is 1 wounded glass. A key with a key ring. The bathroom closed this morning and I couldn't get in. I had to go to the reception, they came with me and were able to open it. I'm holding the door open now. There are 3 breakfasts, instant coffee only. If possible, it is better to choose another hotel.
We were at the hotel at the end of August. We stopped by at night, we were warned at the reception in advance. Everything is clean, the staff is polite. But the furniture in the rooms is old. The breakfasts are very tasty, the buffet, the assortment is large.
I recommend. But I give it 4 stars.
The hotel from the old, still Soviet foundation, is the coolest in all times! Now, of course, she is far from ultra-modern business hotels, but everything is very decent, clean, the linen is new, the repairman in the rooms is fresh, the restaurant at the hotel is open. But the most important trump card is its location - the old center, the park opposite, good transport accessibility. Overall solid 4
Excellent hotel, polite staff! Fresh renovation, albeit of the Soviet model! Everything is clean and tidy! The location is generally perfect! 28 Panfilovtsev Park is opposite! By the way, a reliable hotel, 6.7 points of the earthquake in January 24 withstood with a bang 😁
The room stock is old: the carpet is stained, the furniture is placed randomly around the room, the bed is short and low, the pillow is one
There are only two sockets in the room, one directly above the head by the bed, the plug falls out of the second, nothing can be charged.
For some reason, an empty refrigerator is turned on, which buzzes all night.
The bathroom is old, the hot water was only in the evening after 10-15 minutes of waiting.
There is no drinking or tea set in the room.
Cleaning was not carried out for 2 days of stay, the shower gel was not replenished.
The breakfasts are average.
There are no 4 stars even nearby.
Positive. It is located in a pleasant part of the city. Nearby there is a beautiful pedestrian Tulebaev street, there are many restaurants around where you can eat, the metro is within walking distance.
The staff is generally friendly.
Breakfast for three. A buffet, but not everything is delicious.
Clean bed linen, towels.
Very affordable price.
Minuses. Everything is old. The carpet is dirty, the furniture has most likely not been changed since the opening. An old CRT TV (it's not clear why you should keep it at all). The room smells like some kind of antiquity or something. The air conditioner is an old unit inserted into the window.
The tiniest thing is the room is cold. I came in the middle of October - it's already cold outside at night, but they haven't given me heating yet. It was downright cold in the room. And the cold came not so much from the window as from all the walls - literally everything was cold. The staff couldn't do anything about it. As a result, I had to buy a heater.
Finally got my hands on it and I'll leave my review!
Positive:
There are always rooms;
Nice and comfortable bed;
Pleasant staff;
Convenient location;
Breakfast;
Minuses:
Old furniture that hasn't been updated for probably 10 years;
Plumbing and bathroom well, it does not pull to the level of the stars of this hotel;
Rooms are rarely cleaned;
The service is good, the food is monotonous, but there is a lot to choose from, there is no cleaning in the room, the bed is clean, towels are changed regularly
Nice, quiet hotel. Remnants of Soviet luxury! The furniture is a bit old, but, because it was made qualitatively in the USSR, it still needs to be served and served
The hotel is located in the center. The rooms are small, the furniture is old. I was very impressed by the cafe in the hotel. It's worth staying in it just for the sake of it.
OTRAR Hotel is located in the very center of Almaty, near the park area, business and shopping centers, Akbota amusement park and the city zoo, a 5-minute walk from Zhibek Zholy Metro station, a 20-minute drive to the airport and 5 minutes from the railway station-2. The hotel is ready to welcome more than 200 guests at any time in 161 comfortable rooms equipped with air conditioning, bathroom, hair dryers, international telephone, satellite TV, refrigerator, mini-bar, deposit boxes.WiFi, gym - free of charge.
The price for a room starts from 26,000

The locals said it was an Intourist in the past. There is a lot of marble in the common areas, but still the building needs renovation. As it is, everything you need is available. The breakfast restaurant resembles a yurt. There is a park nearby.
A good Soviet hotel (former Intourist) - everything is soundly and soundly created, can still be considered 4+ stars: halls, sofas, dining room - all on a grand scale. The dome of the dining room is like a yurt, all decorated and covered with rich carpets. Quiet, calm, polite staff, a place in the center near the park is just super! Everything is in good working condition. For those who remember and appreciate the USSR, it is especially pleasant that the national heritage has been preserved. In general, in Alma-Ata, kind people are very careful about everything.
A good hotel, polite reception, excellent view from the window (only the noise of the road is heard), I chose a hotel closer to the place of passing the exam.
Although the room was called a business, I did not find a chair and a desk in it
For 4 days they never cleaned, did not change towels, did not update toiletries
You couldn't breathe on a charger plugged into an outlet, otherwise it just fell out :-(
Well, the rest is a wonderful hotel
Good location, quiet, comfort
The rooms are standard, everything is very ancient, but you can live, the breakfasts are monotonous, sufficient, the air conditioners in the rooms are old and sooo noisy. The hotel is such an old Soviet model with an oriental flavor
Positive: 1. nice woman at the reception. Polite, helped with the placement. 2. Breakfast for such a room rate is normal.
Minuses: an old hotel, a disgusting room, an old TV, an outlet and a switch over his head, a pillow at night constantly turned on the light.
The furniture is old, the rooms smell of tired repairs and previous tenants, the air conditioner is built into the window and works poorly. When it's 40 degrees outside, it's a so-so story. WiFi is only available at the reception.
An old battered hotel, breathing like hell. The service is the same. But the most unpleasant thing was that a hair was found in the breakfast food and there was also a hair on the table.
The hotel is very, very tired. It's just falling apart. Although it can be seen from the materials that the repair was done in the early noughties. Poorly cleaned. The sink was not washed. Nevertheless, the architecture is not bad. Marble floors, foyer on each floor. The breakfasts are passable . The disadvantage is a very high price: 8 thousand rubles per day! This is an exorbitant amount for a hotel, especially one like this.
A three-star hotel. The friendly staff is the only highlight of this hotel. Very old. The rooms are cramped and crammed with Soviet furniture. There is not even a minimum set for living (water, kettle, toothbrushes). We had to stay for one night, so we survived these disadvantages, but I do not advise you to stop by for a few days
In general, it's not bad, there is no drinking water in the rooms, you need to go into the corridor and it's a little dusty, the bed is clean, the bathroom is clean, everything is there, the breakfast is good, the dining room is interesting in a national style

I came to the city for the first time, stayed in a hotel nearby. I decided to come here to see the accommodation option for the next visit.
From the threshold, I was told that everything is forbidden - you can't look at it (even in the lobby in the reception area), the authorities forbid it, you can't stay, you had to leave) naturally, the desire to stay here disappeared instantly, maybe it's for the best)
Soviet-style plates. The hair dryer in the rooms does not work everywhere, the sockets are not at every bed, the TV is unlikely to work. The elevator is modern. The breakfast is delicious. If you stop in Almaty for work and for a couple of days, then it will go
