We had a vacation with my husband here in December 2024, it was our honeymoon. In general, we really liked everything, I'll write in more detail.:
1) Rooms
Initially, we were accommodated on the 1st floor because there were no rooms available on the 2nd floor (we arrived at 3 a.m.). Thank God we were moved to the 2nd floor in the morning! It's very cold on the 1st floor, we were freezing all night even without air conditioning, and the hood was making a lot of noise.
The 2nd floor with a balcony was perfect, a more "new room". The furniture is of course shabby everywhere) But when traveling to Asia, you should not expect luxury unless it is an expensive hotel.
Towels seemed to be changed consistently, and the bed for all 9 days never once. In general, the room was cleaned, and the water was replenished steadily. But the floors were a little dirty, but we were given slippers (only for some reason when we moved to the 2nd floor).
The balcony is a separate privilege — you can't see the neighbors, but the ocean is right next to it)
2) Food
I don't understand why many people didn't get it. The food was very good! Indeed, it was possible to eat so much at breakfast that it was enough until dinner.
The buffet format featured European and local cuisine. There was always a choice (we had breakfast+dinner included). There are a lot of fresh herbs and vegetables, alas, only papaya, bananas and pineapples from fruits, there was nothing more exotic. A large selection of pastries and sweets, fish, meat and seafood. Everything is delicious in terms of spices, there is little spicy (mostly for locals). Tea and coffee are mediocre, coffee can be made for 400 rubles separately. Juices are free only for breakfast, you will have to pay for them at dinner, as well as for other drinks)
3) Service
He's good, the staff is polite everywhere. Everyone speaks English, which is a big plus.
If you go on an excursion in the morning before breakfast, then you will be given it with you.
The bar is paid, as is the beach bar. The beach towels are fresh.
They conduct various activities in the form of water polo and darts. By the way, I highly recommend visiting the gym at the hotel, there is a wonderful coach there. The gym provides water and towels.
The service is a bit intrusive in terms of additional paid services (drinks for dinner and dinner for two on the beach), but in general they understand that you don't want to.
Everyone is smiling, always ready to help.
4) The beach
The ocean is literally 100 meters away from the hotel. There is a pool nearby with fairly warm water, there are always few people in it, the water is not heavily chlorinated.
Palm squirrels are running around on the beach, which don't really make contact. The sun beds are normal, towels are provided. The beach is being cleaned, the dogs are being kicked out. When we were on the beach, a turtle crawled out and laid eggs. The wave is strong, so I advise you to walk to the rocks (less than a kilometer) and swim there, because there is no wave and you can go deeper.
5) Guides
Hotel guide from the Fan&We didn't like San at all. We highly recommend our new friend Ravinda (he walks along the beach of the hotel and speaks excellent Russian. A wonderful and kind person who doesn't try to cheat you for money. He even gave us a gift before we left!). Ravindu and I went on safari along the Bentota River, Galle city, turtle Conservation Center, Bentona village and Alutgama city for shopping. He rides a tuk-tuk and all the excursions were just the two of them. We also recommend tuk-tukers Madu and Raja (they stand at the entrance to the hotel), but they do not speak Russian.
6) Evening program
It's pretty boring for young people, but on the whole they try their best! They invite musicians who sing well in English. There was also a show of local dances and a fakir. We didn't get to Christmas and NG, but there was a dinner and a party for those holidays.
7) The contingent of vacationers
We were very glad that there were almost no children in the hotel. Enjoy the peace and comfort.
There were very few Russian tourists, literally 3-4 people. Mostly a lot of Germans, there were French. There are vacationers from India and even local wealthy Sri Lankans. Everyone is very culturally behaved, no one got drunk or rowdy. You can even get to know someone. You can try to get acquainted with the French hotel guide Adil, a great guy, became our friend.
8) Overall impression
We really liked this hotel, the service is good. If you need to relax in seclusion, enjoy the ocean and nature — you are here. There are no animals running around the hotel, which is a huge plus. Everything you need from shops and attractions is nearby. A tuk-tuk costs pennies. It is better to go to Induruva, to this hotel, than to Hikkaduwa (there are a lot of tourists from the CIS, it is noisy like in Turkey, and dirty beaches).
Great hotel! The restaurant is good, the atmosphere is calm. In the evenings, music is alive and animation happens. There is a large swimming pool on the territory of the hotel. There are a lot of sun beds, there are enough for everyone. There are always towels. The ocean is noisy all the time, the waves are quite high, thanks to this fine water dust is flying all the time and it is humid. Ready inhalation! The beach is very long, 2 km, you can take a good walk. There are very few people. Disadvantages - towels are taken away in the rooms in the morning, and brought only in the evening. However, they are cleaned every day. There are local cloth merchants, but on the 3rd day they already merge with the landscape. There is both a highway and a railway road nearby. But it doesn't bother much - because the ocean is always noisy! I recommend.
A good hotel with very modest meals. The territory is clean, the staff tries hard, the pool is pleasant. We had a rest in the middle of October. The forecast was written every day by rain, and it was at night. It's cloudy in the afternoon, but you still need to close completely so as not to get burned. Sun beds between the pool and the ocean. There was always a red flag, but we jumped on the waves 2 meters from the shore, we really wanted to. The room is quite normal on the second floor: ocean view, kettle, refrigerator, air conditioning, wardrobe, sofa. We took breakfasts and dinners. The food is very mediocre. Yes, you can always find something, but you don't want to look for it.
They took a tuk-tuk for the first time, according to reviews, it's generally sad: they take them to their lured places at exorbitant prices and "fuck off." They found another one themselves and the island began to play with new colors.
I recommend the hotel if you do not bother with food.
I had a rest in December 2024. The rooms are good, the food is varied. Service for 3+. The entrance to the sea is a bit inconvenient, as there is a depth of two meters from the shore, and if there are waves, then you will not enter the ocean.
We had a rest in September 2023, a good hotel, there is a slight humidity in the rooms, but with the windows open everything dries well. The rooms are on the ground floor immediately with access to the pool, which, for a second, is always clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Simple, but quite good breakfasts. The furniture in the room is a little tired, but we only returned to the hotel for the night, so there were no problems.
In Bentota, you can rent a scooter and explore the island)
There is also a Christmas Tree-sticks cafe next to the hotel, we had dinner only there, huge portions and only fresh products. For Russian visitors, the owner presents a plate of fruit as a gift) My recommendation: grilled shrimp😋
We had a rest in January (from 19 to 30) 2023, I really liked it! The beach is beautiful, the area on the ocean side is significant, very clean, the staff is just super! They are smiling, responsive, and always want to help. we lived in a room on the 1st floor, very convenient: from the room directly to the pool)))
we took only breakfast, fruits, pastries above all praise, decent breakfast, buffet. You can have dinner by paying at the restaurant (5,000 rupees). In general, everything is for you. I highly recommend a massage (next to the hotel, 50 m away) Unfortunately, I did it only 7 times.Massage therapist in the third generation of Sanath: WhatsApp +94 77 567 4014 Each subsequent massage brought more and more satisfaction, be sure to try it. It is worth going on excursions to the river, there are Elephants nearby, riding, feeding, a temple complex, all this in Bentota. the tookers will take us, we went with Indigo (that's the name), everything is great!

A great mid-range hotel. A clean beach. The rooms are spacious and cleaned regularly. The food in the restaurant is quite varied. Friendly staff. There were no problems during the rest period.
We rested in the second half of October. About the weather: every day there was rain, short-term and overcast, but it's not hot and you can safely walk along the beach and go on excursions.
About the hotel: simply amazing! Chamber, clean, quiet but slightly tired. The staff is attentive, always ready to help (the air conditioner broke down, the safe, a couple of times did not have time to bring clean towels to our return from the beach) and quickly eliminate the shortcomings. There is nothing to do with children in it from the word "absolutely", because nothing is provided for them in the hotel and nearby. That's why it's very quiet. The contingent is mainly Germans, Dutch....everyone is very friendly. The best Deluxe rooms are 401-408 with a huge balcony and a beautiful view in the main building. The two-storey one is located along the pool, therefore, especially on the 1st floor, it is impossible to open the curtains. At the beginning of the building, the rooms go straight to the bar and the place where darts are played during the day, at the end of the building it is quieter, but there is practically no sea view. The pool itself is very cozy: the water is warm, there are shady places and long enough to swim. About the beach: there were always enough sunbeds, although the best places were occupied early in the morning by giving rupees to the beach boy and he put towels in advance. Sun beds under palm trees and umbrellas. Then there is a strip of green climbing plants, then a strip of sand and the ocean. On the border of the beach and the green line there are sellers, guides and a coconut seller. Do not strain. After reading the reviews, we were looking for an Indigo guide. Found. Really speaks Russian very well. We took a trip to Halle from him, a clean new car, a driver in a white shirt, helped us buy fruit on the way, brought it to the exchanger. Aunts sell quite high-quality Lankan cotton. They took huge sheets to hide in the summer. Haggling, but not to the point of absurdity. For this, they also gave the mothers pillowcases in a set to one of the sheets before leaving. Also to the right of the hotel on the beach is a Sanath massage therapist with 21 years of experience, with a diploma. As a person related to this area, I can say that he is doing very well! My back really doesn't hurt after a month. It's just amazing to make a head! But then it's hard to wash off the oil)) About the food: the food is delicious, quite varied (compared with the food at the hotel during a two-day excursion). A large selection of hot dishes: seafood, tuna, cutlets, even pork, beef, sausages, chicken, national spicy dishes on a separate table. There are not many snacks, but they are made in the form of tartlets, which is extremely convenient. Soups are also quite. Just a bunch of sweets and amazing ice cream! Omelets are made for breakfast. Excellent local beer Leon. There is always live music at dinner in the restaurant, and on Fridays there are dance performances downstairs. The rooftop bar is open once a week, a DJ plays and cocktails are poured. Cocktails, beer, etc. are paid. Beer is twice as expensive than in the store. A week later, they began to go to the store, the benefit of a 5-minute walk to the right of the hotel on the road and buy local beer and rum there. And at the same time, water, because they put 2x0.5 in the room for the day. To the right on the beach just behind the hotel there are two cafes: Christmas Trees and Bamboo. The second one came to us. It tastes better to our taste, the dishes are more original. Fish, shrimp..😋Squid and tom yam soup are just a bomb! And a very friendly hostess who speaks English well. But I'll warn you right away, it's a little more expensive than in Christmas Trees. There is also a cafe on the way to the store, but it's so local, we ate once, it seems delicious, but we didn't go any more. You can also eat alyakart at the hotel. In general, it is better to take breakfast and dinner at the hotel, because the menu is not varied in cafes. It gets boring quickly, and there are a lot of different things for dinner at the hotel. We haven't had enough in two weeks.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The most amazing thing is its location, right on the shore. The clean beach and the entrance to the ocean are super. Otherwise, everything is fine: daily cleaning, kitchen for 4 with a minus, and this is provided that you are not a gourmet. The staff is friendly and helpful. You will not have time to go out to the pool, you will immediately be offered a sunbed and a towel. The restaurant will be happy to bring food to the room. At the pool bar, you can arrange for inexpensive and cash to prepare fresh drinks
A wonderful hotel, attentive staff. He deserves his 4 * garlic!A nice, clean beach, plenty of sun beds and towels, an amazing ocean, and also responsive Lankans!!!The breakfasts are varied, you don't want spicy, eat milk porridges, vegetables.Fruits daily. The rooms are cleaned cleanly. We were satisfied. We have been to many countries, there was something to compare it with.
A wonderful hotel, we visited it in December 2022 (from 9 to 19).
The hotel is cozy, the territory is quite sufficient, the ocean is 2 steps from the rooms. All rooms have ocean views. The rooms have everything you need, daily cleaning, tea and coffee set in the room. Welcome drinks and chilled towels are what you need after a long journey.
The pool is clean, all the staff are friendly, good-natured, try to help. Almost everyone speaks English. Which greatly simplifies communication.
The spa facilities at the hotel are quite acceptable. but! As we later found out, right next to the hotel there are guys who do massage (with a massage therapist diploma) if you go out to the sea from the hotel, then on the right: $12 full body massage. For comparison, we went to the Ayurveda center, there is $ 40, the massage is worse. Wanted women with sledgehammer hands.
Meals at the hotel: breakfast everything you need to eat: eggs, cereals, cereals, fruits, vegetables, cheese, ham, sweets, pastries, pancakes, yoghurts, etc.
We went to a restaurant in Bentota for lunch. Already in the last 4 days we learned that there is a cafe to the right of the hotel: Christmas trees (like), where it is very tasty!!!! They're cooking! And the seafood is the freshest! For comparison, we went to a cafe a little further away, and waited for our lunch for 3 hours! Without exaggeration! We already wanted to just leave. But then they bustled up, brought us rice and (allegedly) tom-yam (in fact, mashed soup)🥵
And the check turned out to be decent (so... it's not worth it).
We rested at the hotel from December 20 to December 29, 22. In general, the hotel is good, I was very pleased with the access to the ocean literally from the room, the beach is clean, the pool is looked after every day. If there were problems, the staff was quick to solve, friendly. Room cleaning every day, but frankly of poor quality, under the bed has not been washed since the century before last, at the beginning of the vacation they sprayed tanning spray on the mirror, and the spray lived with us until the end of the vacation, the windows are not washed throughout the hotel, it's even a pity, because the view is gorgeous. We had breakfast and dinner included - you could always find something to eat, you didn't go hungry. We went to the Yelki-Palki cafe-restaurant for lunch, immediately to the right of the hotel. An amazing place! In the morning, fresh fish was brought to our choice, we chose, by the time we appointed, it was brought to us with a bunch of side dishes, salad and sauce (you'll lick your fingers!), especially if Shan was cooking! Great guys served Shan and Saman! Beer was constantly taken from them with dried fish. We had lunch at other establishments a couple of times, we didn't really like it and the price tag is higher. Our regular tuk-tuk was a wonderful Russian-speaking local guide, Indica. That's just like Christmas trees, we also recommend it. I always knew where it was cheaper, who to take to to solve the problem with the phone (which suddenly appeared), negotiated a discount with sellers, was a translator. These people have made our vacation in Sri Lanka comfortable and unforgettable!
The most ideal place for a seal vacation! Very friendly, courteous and service staff! Delicious, varied buffet, live music in the restaurant, clean beach, coconuts, souvenirs, shawls are sold right on the beach. You can also order a tuk-tuk and taxi, and get a massage. Regular room cleaning, clean pool, colorful beach 10 seconds walk from the room!
We rested from 24.04 to 05.05.2023,30°-32°C,ocean water 28 °C,tropical rain in the evenings (but it was already dark outside), sand, pool, bar (delicious cocktails), towels on the beach, sun beds (enough for everyone)A great place to relax.just turn off the head and reboot.the hotel is for 4, but this does not affect the rest of the word at all.The room was taken on the 2nd floor with a panoramic window overlooking the ocean (all windows look at the ocean),cleaning every day, clean towels and bathrobes (every day),a lot of insects (take something from mosquitoes with you), everything worked except the hair dryer, it was about nothing. the room had a Jacuzzi with panoramic ocean view😍ALWAYS keep money in a safe or with you on excursions😁!!!The food is varied, delicious, lots of spicy, seafood, lots of fruits and vegetables and insanely delicious desserts and fresh fruits.I really liked it!!the hotel has a boutique of souvenirs and clothes for the beach and a boutique of precious stones and jewelry made of sapphire mined in Sri Lanka itself. We went on a 2-day excursion, we were satisfied, we got to Colombo (for shopping) and Galle Fort on our own with tuktuker Indigo (a wonderful man, often visits the beach and offers his own services, do not be afraid to contact him, but never forget that for them you are a tourist with a full wallet, so check everything "on the shore")we were in the spice gardens, at the tea factory (we bought a lot of necessary things)You don't have to go to the Moonstone mine unless you want to buy a couple of jewelry. There are very tasty fruits and seafood, tuktuker Indigo will show you everything and take you there.they also put their cafes delicious everywhere, but it's more convenient to go to the Christmas tree sticks right next to each other.there is also a Sanath massage therapist in the 3rd generation (both my father and grandfather were massage therapists) I do not know what he did, but my neck and shoulders stopped hurting, a cool addition to rest. And what a sunset there is.The staff is very welcoming and friendly, it is clear that they want to please in everything. They almost do not speak Russian, so English.welcome.I gave one star only for the responsiveness of the staff.Be sure to change the situation, for me this country is the complete opposite of ours🩵
+1 point for the beach, proximity to the ocean and staff. The furniture is rustic and a little tired, but you don't want to spend a lot of time in the room. The nearest town (Bentota) is 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk, and there is a tourist shopping and a large Buddhist temple. The beach is perfect, a mixture of ordinary sand and volcanic. There are alternative restaurants near the hotel.
Advantages of this hotel:
- first line, all windows facing the ocean.
- a delicious buffet, it makes sense to take tomorrow and dinner (lunch is at your discretion, since you can also eat in neighboring cafes)
- very good-natured, open and positive staff. Here they say "the fish rots from the head", then there is nothing to rot, since the management is constantly present at the facility and distributes pendali. You always have the opportunity to talk to the management. The management itself is happy to go around the ownership account throughout the day and ask for your impressions.
- the staff speaks several languages, except Russian.
Minuses:
- I didn't find any. If suddenly you are only biased about the class of rooms, then get ready to cough up for an improved and higher room level. The standard will disappoint you
Lovely hotel. All rooms overlook the ocean. The staff is friendly. Buffet, the food is delicious.
Near a cafe called Christmas Trees, I strongly advise you to visit!)
Excellent service, but with nuances.
The kitchen works very poorly according to the a la carte system. Expensive and not tasty
Half of the dishes are tasteless and overcooked. Pizza and burgers for $ 10 are complete nonsense and do not take any chances.. The quality will be 0
There are no complaints about the Swede, except for sometimes inadequate sharpness. I do not recommend it with children under 7 years old.
The hotel is perfectly located. The kitchen is delicious, which is included. And according to the menu, the quality is not ice at all, and the price is very high.
There is nothing for children.
Retire, lie on the beach, go
We stayed at the hotel from 01/20/2023 to 01/29/2023. The first thing that makes a pleasant impression of the hotel is its proximity to the ocean, through the panoramic windows of the lobby, as on a large screen in a cinema hall, a magnificent view of the ocean and palm trees opens. We drove from the airport to the hotel for 2 hours, the roads are good, we got there comfortably, the hotel staff is friendly, they speak only English, they try to help in any difficult situation. The hotel consists of a four-storey building and a two-storey annex, we lived in a two-storey part of the hotel, access to the ocean literally from the room, the beach is clean, the room is in good condition, there is a refrigerator, air conditioning, safe, kettle, TV (Russian channels were not found), there is a hairdryer in the bathroom, the room was cleaned every day, shampoo and shower gel are added, and 1 0.5 bottle of water is placed per person. The air conditioner works noisily, but it cools down properly. We took only breakfast, we were satisfied with the food. For lunch and dinner we went to the cafe-restaurant "Elki-palki", immediately to the right of the hotel. An amazing place! At lunch, fresh fish was brought to our choice, we chose seafood, by the time we appointed, our order was brought to us with a bunch of side dishes, salad and sauce (very tasty!).
Great guys served Shan and Saman! Beer was constantly taken from them. We went to dinner a couple of times in other establishments, we didn't really like it and the price tag is higher. The ocean is clean, there are small waves at the entrance to the water, the entrance to the water is gentle. The hotel has a large swimming pool, it is 1.5 meters deep, next to wooden sun beds with mattresses, there are umbrellas, there were always enough sun beds. Local merchants offer to buy local textiles (pareos, bedspreads, shirts, shorts) every day - I recommend haggling because the prices are too high. In general, I liked the hotel, I recommend it for a relaxing stay.
The staff is trying very hard! The accommodation is comfortable, the rooms are stylish, humidity is everywhere, but we knew about it. Breakfasts/dinners are delicious, the only thing is paid drinks, but we knew about that too!
The main thing is a good pool, a gorgeous ocean, a huge spit is all yours!
I recommend it!!!
We really liked the hotel! We had 2 deluxe rooms, one with a huge terrace and a standard on the ground floor right by the pool. Both are at the highest level! The food is good, we always found something to eat, delicious burgers in the room🤫 the ocean is 50 meters away, the beach is clean and wide! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel!
Fire! Super hotel, super ocean!(50 meters is real). It's a long way from the airport alone-90 km. Book a separate transfer. Drive with everyone for 4-4.5 hours. Separately-1.5 hours on a toll highway (the price of a handkerchief is less than $ 1.5 per 80 km)
The hotel is not bad, the location is near the ocean. The food is delicious. But the staff has problems, they steal underwear. They discovered it only when they returned home to Russia. This situation has spoiled all impressions.
Room 409 has a magnificent view, but the windows are dirty. The worst thing is there is no hot water in the Jacuzzi.
There is no hot water in the shower.
The water in the room's pool is icy cold. Very cold...! 🤷♂️
The water in the ocean is warmer than in the shower. They said at the reception that the problem had not been solved.
We came to dinner, ordered 2 glasses of fresh fruit, we ate, we leave, but we haven't started making them yet.
Towels with holes in swans(
I do not recommend it.
I really liked the hotel. Quiet, calm, with good service. A good buffet: porridge, omelets in the morning, soups, seafood kebabs, fish, meat, sweets. It's a bit of an island for me, but you can find normal dishes.
On the very shore, the coast is being looked after, a green carpet grows on the sand. Sometimes a saxophone plays in the skybar in the evenings. The owner of the hotel keeps order himself, learns the opinion of the guests. A lot of Englishmen. There are enough sun beds. The rooms are cleanly cleaned.
Once there may have been a great hotel, but at the moment it is a mediocre hotel given over to sailors who need to wait out quarantine and pass tests for COVID. Exit from the rooms is limited, meals are scarce, and they are delivered to the rooms. If you order separately from the restaurant, it's a little better, but the prices bite.
Convenient location, cleanliness and order on the territory of the hotel, polite
and courteous staff. An excellent and rich buffet, a lunch box is collected upon departure for an early excursion.
The disgusting attitude of the staff towards foreign tourists. The prices are too high. It's not very pleasant for a 5-star hotel. The kitchen is almost all super spicy (although I love spicy cuisine). But all this is offset by a beautiful view of the ocean.

A wonderful hotel!! The staff tries very hard, they always fulfill requests quickly. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have everything you need. The beach at the hotel is magnificent!!
